An example method includes linking a transmit line and receive line to a respective via, and printing two paths to each via, wherein each path is interrupted by two pairs of contacts. When a first resistor is in a first pair of contacts at a receive via, first signal is formed between a receive point of a first connector and the receive line. When a first capacitor is in first pair of contacts at a transmit via, second signal is formed between transmit point of first connector and the transmit line. When a second resistor is in second pair of contacts at receive via, third signal is formed between receive point of a second connector and the receive line. When a second capacitor is in second pair of contacts at transmit via, fourth signal is formed between a transmit point of second connector and the transmit line.

Printed circuit boards

A two reference clock architected redriver includes an inbound elastic buffer and an outbound elastic buffer. Data transmitted to and received from a North Bridge uses a common reference clock architecture. Data transmitted to and received from an external blade uses a separate reference clock architecture. The inbound elastic buffer includes an inbound elastic buffer recovered clock domain, an inbound elastic buffer common reference clock domain, and an inbound decoder/descrambler, an inbound scrambler/encoder, and inbound liner shift registers. The outbound elastic buffer includes an outbound elastic buffer common reference clock domain, an outbound elastic buffer low jitter clock domain, and an outbound decoder/descrambler, an outbound scrambler/encoder, and outbound liner shift register.

Redriver with two reference clocks and method of operation thereof

A first slot connector is mounted within a housing of an electronic system and is for connecting to a first plug-in card. A mezzanine board is installed within the housing. A second slot connector is mounted on the mezzanine board for connecting to a second plug-in card. The first and second plug-in cards align with similarly-shaped slot access panels in the electronic system.

The control logic for a hot-pluggable memory cartridge for use in a redundant memory system. To implement a hot-pluggable memory cartridge in a redundant memory system, control logic to control the sequence of events for powering-up and powering-down a memory cartridge is provided.

Hot replace power control sequence logic

A method of adding memory capacity to a computer system. The computer system comprises a redundant memory system including a plurality of memory cartridges. By powering-down a memory cartridge, adding an additional memory module to the memory cartridge, and powering-up the memory cartridge for each memory cartridge in the system, the system can transition from a redundant mode of operation to a non-redundant mode of operation for each power-down, thus allowing the computer system to remain functional during the addition of the memory module. Alternatively, memory cartridges with higher memory capacity than those currently present in the computer system can be used to replace existing memory cartridges in the computer system, using the same techniques.

Hot-upgrade/hot-add memory

A method of replacing a memory module in a computer system. Specifically, a method for replacing a memory module in a segment of a redundant memory system, without powering-down the memory system.

Hot-replace of memory

A hot-pluggable memory cartridge for use in a redundant memory system. More specifically, the control logic and method for implementing a plurality of memory cartridges which may be hot-plugged into a memory sub-system.
