A display device includes a substrate including a first pixel region, a second pixel region having an area smaller than that of the first pixel region, and a peripheral region surrounding the first pixel region and the second pixel region, a second pixel provided in the second pixel region, a second line connected to the second pixel, an extension line extended to the peripheral region, a dummy part located in the peripheral region to overlap with the extension line, a power line connected to the first and second pixel regions, and a connection line located in the peripheral region to be connected to the dummy part, the connection line being electrically connected to a portion of the second pixel region, wherein the second pixel region includes a first sub-pixel region connected to the connection line and a second sub-pixel region except the first sub-pixel region.

An embodiment of the present invention provides a display device including a substrate including a display area, and a peripheral area outside the display area and including a bending area, a first conductive layer including a first signal wire over the substrate, a first insulating layer over the first conductive layer, a second insulating layer in a different layer from the first insulating layer, overlapping the bending area, and having a first edge positioned around the bending area, and a protector over the second insulating layer, wherein the first signal wire is in the peripheral area, crosses the first edge of the second insulating layer, does not overlap the bending area, and includes a first portion not covered by the second insulating layer, and wherein the protector overlaps at least a portion of the first portion, and has an edge that is parallel with an edge of the first portion.

A liquid crystal display includes: an insulating substrate; gate lines and data lines disposed on the insulating substrate; pixels disposed on the substrate substantially in a matrix form, each pixel including a thin film transistor connected to a corresponding gate line of the gate lines and a corresponding data line of the data lines, a first electrode disposed on the thin film transistor, and a second electrode disposed on the first electrode; a first insulating layer disposed on the gate lines, the data lines and the thin film transistor, and under the first electrode; and a second insulating layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, in which each of the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer include an inorganic insulating layer, and a thickness of the first insulating layer is greater than a thickness of the second insulating layer.

Liquid crystalline display with enhanced display quality thereof and a method for manufacturing the same

A display device includes a display panel, a signal controller, sensing signal lines, and a touch sensor controller. The display panel includes pixels configured to display images, and touch sensor electrodes configured to sense a touch event. The touch sensor electrodes overlap a conductive layer. The signal controller is configured to generate signals to control the display of the images via the display panel. The sensing signal lines are respectively connected to the touch sensor electrodes. The touch sensor controller is configured to transmit a sensing input signal via the sensing signal lines, receive a sensing output signal via the sensing signal lines, and generate touch information based on reception of the sensing output signal. The touch sensor controller is configured to apply the same signal to the touch sensor electrodes and the conductive layer.

A display device include a first surface, a sensing capacitor having a sensing input electrode and a sensing output electrode, wherein the sensing capacitor stores a first amount of charges and the sensing capacitor stored a second amount of charges when an external object contacts on the first surface, a sensing input signal line electrically connected with the sensing input electrode and receiving a sensing input signal to charge the sensing capacitor to the first amount of charges, a sensing output signal line electrically connected with the sensing output electrode, and a sensing signal processor connected with the sensing output signal line, wherein the sensing signal processor determines whether an external objects contact on the first surface based on a voltage difference between the first amount of charges and the second amount of charges stored in the sensing capacitor.

A liquid crystal display includes: a bottom chassis, a backlight assembly received in the bottom chassis, a liquid crystal display panel including a thin film transistor substrate and a counter substrate disposed opposite the thin film transistor substrate, with the liquid crystal display panel being disposed so that the counter substrate faces the backlight assembly. The liquid crystal display further includes a mold structure disposed between the bottom chassis and the liquid crystal display panel, and configured to fasten the liquid crystal display panel to the bottom chassis, a driving connection line connected to the thin film transistor substrate and a shield case configured to cover the driving connection line to protect the driving connection line, and including a lateral side disposed corresponding to an edge of the liquid crystal display panel or disposed inside the edge of the liquid crystal panel.

Liquid crystal display

The present invention divides a wire supplying a scan start signal to a gate driver into two wires, so as to avoid overlapping a clock signal line. In this way the clock signal is not delayed by interference, and a gate driving margin may continue uninterrupted, thereby uniformly outputting a gate-on voltage. In particular, if the clock signal line is connected to all stages in the gate driver and the clock signal line overlaps the scan start signal line, unsightly horizontal bands appear on the image and the parallel gate lines generate a very large parasitic capacitance. In contrast, the gate drivers in the present disclosure comprise clock signal lines which do not overlap the scan start signal lines. As benefits, interference resulting in horizontal banding is minimized and the power consumption may be reduced by about 10%.
