There is provided a fuel oil amount indicator of a measuring apparatus in which a lifetime of the indicator can be prolonged, maintenance work can be omitted, and visibility can always be improved. In the indicator of the invention, a plurality of light emitting elements are arrayed in a matrix form, and as the light emitting elements, high-luminance LEDs are used. An outside light sensor provided in the vicinity of the indicator detects brightness of outside light, and a light emission intensity of the light emitting elements is changed in accordance with the thus detected brightness. The light emitting elements have a plurality of luminous colors predetermined to correspond to a type of fuel oil. The indicator is provided with inclination means for inclining a display surface in response to an operation of an angle adjustment operating portion. The indicator is further provided with a diffusion plate for diffusing light to a front face of the light emitting elements.

A liquid supply nozzle having automatic shut-down and alarming function will stop feeding a liquid when a diaphragm is damaged with alarming the damage. The liquid supply nozzle can contain a press member under the diaphragm which pushes up the diaphragm and maintains an entire stoppage function to work even when the diaphragm is broken. The damage of the diaphragm can be visually inspected through a cap which is made of a substantially transparent material and visually or sonically perceived through an additionally provided alarm unit.

A fueling system to be provided in a gas station is disclosed, which comprises at least one fueling machine, and a data input/output unit, the data input/output unit being movable in a required direction, and a fueling data being input from the data input/output unit and being output to the fueling machines.

An automatic fueling system to be provided in a gas station for dispensing fuel to a vehicle contains a fueling machine containing a fueling pipe led to a fuel-storage tank provided in the gas station, and a fueling nozzle connected to the fueling pipe via a hose, a nozzle conveyance unit containing an arm mechanism, a mechanism control unit for controlling the movement of the arm mechanism, and a fuel-port sensor for sensing the position of a fueling port of the vehicle, the nozzle conveyance unit automatically conveying the fueling nozzle to the fueling port and automatically inserting the fueling nozzle thereto under the control of the mechanism control unit, and a data input/output apparatus for inputting fueling information therefrom and outputting the fueling information to the fueling machine and the nozzle conveyance unit, the fueling nozzle being conveyed by unit of the nozzle conveyance unit to the fueling port in either case where the fueling port faces the fueling machine or the fueling port does not face the fueling machine by the receipt of the fueling information from the data input/output apparatus, the fueling machine starting and stopping fueling based on the fueling information, the fueling nozzle being extracted from the fueling port with the receipt of a signal from the mechanism control unit.

Automatic fueling system

An automatic fueling system containing a fueling machine having a nozzle mechanism comprising an injection pipe with a nozzle insertion sensor thereon, and a plurality of fueling nozzles contained in the injection pipe, each for dispensing a predetermined sort of fuel, and a fuel port sensor; and a data input/output unit for performing a signal transmission to and from the fueling machine; wherein the insertion of one of the nozzles is carried out to an automobile to be fueled having a signal generator thereon by the movement of the fueling machine based on the signal transmission between the fuel port sensor and the signal generator, and the fueling is suspended by the detection of a required level of fueling.

A gas station is disclosed which contains one or more fueling units; an electromagnetic-wave sensor for detecting electromagnetic waves which are unwanted in fueling operation; and one or more communicators for showing the electromagnetic-wave detection by the electromagnetic-wave sensor, the electromagnetic-wave sensor being provided outside the fueling units.

A fueling system is substantially composed of one or more fueling units, a liquidation managing machine, a first fueling state communicator, and a second fueling state communicator. The units contains a fuel sort discrimination unit for supplying fuel of which sort is consistent with fuel in a tank to be fueled, and a full-tank fueling unit for filling up the tank with fuel to a full-tank level. The liquidation managing machine settles accounts and controls signals input from the fueling units. The first fueling state communicator and the second fueling state communicator indicate fueling states of the fueling units, the first fueling state communicator functions by receiving signals from the liquidation managing machine, and the second fueling state communicator functions by receiving signals from the first fueling state communicator. In the fueling system, signals from the liquidation managing machine is transmitted to the second fueling state communicator invariably through the first fueling state communicator.

An oil-feeding apparatus of the present invention includes a main body housing containing oil-feeding pumps and flow meters therein. An indicator housing is placed on the main body housing with supplied oil amount indicators, and a strut is stood at one side of the main body housing. A top housing has one end connected to the top of the strut, and the other end extended to a part above the main body housing. A hose guide is provided between the main body housing and the top housing, which guide oil-feeding hoses, each with an oil-feeding nozzle at a free end thereof, the other end being connected to a discharge pipe provided at the outlet side of the flow meter at a lower part of the hose guide. Retractors are provided in the top housing with wires drawn from the retractors. The midportion of each of the hoses is joined to the wire so as to be suspended in an inverted U-shape in the hose guide. Nozzle rests are provided on the main body housing for hanging the oil-feeding nozzles on the free ends of the oil-feeding hoses.

Portable data processing device cooperating with an IC card and having a casing body housing a contact head to be connected with the integrated circuit (IC) card when the latter is incorporated with the device, data processing device and an electric source therein, and a lid hingedly attached to the casing body so as to be angularly movable between an open position and a closed position. The lid has a pocket in which the IC card is lodged and a key board arranged on the outer surface thereof.

A new and novel mounting for a flexible hose in a gasoline dispensing apparatus is disclosed. Contrary to a conventional mounting in which the hose is fixed to the apparatus housing at the one end and the other free end provided with a valved nozzle which is normally hung on the housing so that the intermediate length of the hose is suspended like the letter of 'U', according to the present invention the hose is extended upwardly and then suspended downwardly so that this inverted 'U' form is normally maintained by an elastic means such as a coiled spring fitted on the hose along at least the upwardly extended length. Thereby the force necessary for manually bringing the nozzle to the fuel inlet of a car can be considerably decreased and undesired hose dragging can be avoided which makes it possible to realize self-service system in a gasoline station.

A nozzle suspended type fuel filling station comprising an under-ground fuel reservoir, a stationary conduit extending from the reservoir to a position above a passageway in the station, a flexible conduit connected to free end of the flexible conduit and having a dispensing nozzle, a motor for operating the flexible conduit to release and accommodate the same for vertical movement of the nozzle, a pump for pumping up the fuel from the reservoir to the nozzle, wherein the motors is accommodated in a relatively large size elongated hollow body. The motor is slidably arranged in the body, accommodated in a member movable in the body, or in the form of pulley members. The system can be conducted by a computer control system.

Fuel filling system

A dispensing device for gasoline or the like liquid fuel which is mounted on a base structure or island as a part of the device, which occupies a relatively narrow space and may be of a hollow body so as to accomodate at least one of a flow meter, a fuel pump, and a motor for driving the pump. The device has at least three indication surfaces each directed in different direction around the device, so that an amount of the fuel dispensed and indicated on said surfaces can be read from any position around the device.
