It is intended to provide an occludator whereby joint movements at occlusion being similar to the actual tempromandibular joint movements of an individual patient or ideal movements can be reproduced, and a face bow to be used for the occludator. To achieve this object, an occlusion plane against a standard plane is accurately drawn by using the above face bow F whereby the occlusion plane can be drawn at a high accuracy. A solid model of the tempromandibular joint similar to the tempromandibular joint form of an actual patient is used as the joint unit of the occludator K, while the positional relationship in the body at occlusion is three-dimensionally reproduced in the occludator I with the use of the above-described face bow F. It is also intended to provide an occlusion-confirming system and a tempromandibular joint-reproducing system with the use of an occludator whereby joint movements at occlusion being similar to the actual tempromandibular joint movements of an individual patient or ideal movements can be reproduced. To achieve this object, the tempromandibular joint of the body is photographed with a local X-ray CT device to give three-dimensional image data and then a solid model of the tempromandibular joint is constructed based on the three-dimensional image data. This solid model is employed as the joint unit of the occludator K and the positional relationship in the body at occlusion is three-dimensionally reproduced.

An image processing method which corrects a 3-dimensional CT data value obtained from a 3-dimensional object is provided. The image processing method comprises: a threshold setting step of setting a threshold value used for generating a correction value from the 3-dimensional CT data value obtained from the 3-dimensional object; an average calculating step of calculating an average value of a 3-dimensional CT data block comprising a 3-dimensional CT data element of a correction target and a plurality of 3-dimensional CT data elements in a neighborhood of the 3-dimensional CT data element of the correction target; and a correction step of correcting the 3-dimensional CT data value by using the threshold value set in the threshold setting step and the average value obtained in the average calculating step.

An image processing method comprises an extracting step for extracting a plurality of images of different depths of a 3-dimensional object, the axes forming different angles with the 3-dimensional object, a binary coding step for eliminating a gray level range of the plurality of images obtained by the extracting step, the gray level range containing a small amount of components of the 3-dimensional object, remapping the other portion to a predetermined gray level value range, and putting the plurality of images in binary form, and a step for forming a 3-dimensional image of the 3-dimensional object based on the plurality of images put in binary form by the binary coding step.
