An energy management system that includes a power generating device, bidirectional DC-DC converter, and inverter connected to an HVDC bus. A gain of a voltage change to a current change in the bidirectional DC-DC converter is equal to the gain in the inverter. When an output power of the inverter or the bidirectional DC-DC converter varies in response to a variation in an output current of the power generating device, the energy management system can control the output power of the inverter to conform to a target value by adjusting an offset of gain characteristics of the bidirectional DC-DC converter to gain characteristics of the inverter. As a result, the energy management system is capable of stabilizing the output power of the inverter.

Energy management system

A three-level inverter circuit includes first to fourth front-stage switches connected in series, and a floating capacitor connected between a connection point of the first and second front-stage switches and a connection point of the third and fourth front-stage switch elements, and outputs an intermediate voltage of a DC power supply through a connection point of the second and third front-stage switches. A bridge circuit includes first, second, third, and fourth rear-stage switches which are bridge-connected to first to fourth terminals. The first terminal thereof is connected to a connection point of the second front-stage switch and the third front-stage switch and a second terminal thereof is connected to the second input terminal.

Inverter device

A high frequency power amplifying apparatus includes a power supply device for a high frequency power amplifying circuit, an RF signal processing circuit, and a high frequency power amplifying circuit. Bidirectional converters supplying and/or regenerating an electric charge are provided between an input section of an input voltage and an output section of an output voltage. A converter controlling circuit detects an envelope of an RF input signal, and sets and switches resonant frequencies and amplitudes of the bidirectional converters such that the output voltage follows an amplitude change of an envelope input signal. A delay time detecting circuit detects a delay time of the power supply device for a high frequency power amplifying circuit and makes an adjustment through a delay adjusting circuit.

Power supply device for high frequency power amplifying circuit and high frequency power amplifying apparatus

In a power supply device, bidirectional converters that are each capable of supplying or regenerating an electric charge are provided between an input section for an input voltage and an output section for an output voltage. An amplitude change monitor circuit detects an envelope of an RF input signal. A converter switching circuit controls supply and regeneration of electric charges by the bidirectional converters so that the output voltage follows an amplitude change of the input signal. An output capacitor capacitance estimation unit estimates the capacitance of an output capacitor from its voltage and current. A delay time detection circuit grasps a delay time of a power supply device for a high frequency power amplification circuit and makes an adjustment through a delay adjustment circuit.

Power supply device for high frequency power amplification circuit and high frequency power amplification device

An inductor includes a coil electrode section in which a first spiral electrode and a second spiral electrode are wound in substantially the same direction, lie in substantially the same plane, and are connected to each other by a connection electrode. The coil electrode section is sandwiched by the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic layer from both directions substantially perpendicular to the plane. A first protrusion electrode and a second protrusion electrode at ends of the first spiral electrode and the second spiral electrode that are opposite to the connection electrode extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane, have a length at which each of the protrusion electrodes protrudes from the first magnetic layer, and define opposite end electrodes of the inductor. Arranging this low-profile inductor on a mounting circuit board achieves a low-profile DC-DC converter including a two-layer structure.

Inductor and DC-DC converter

A switching electric source device includes a first synchronous rectifier control circuit, which detects the resonance state developed based on the exciting energy of the primary winding after the main switching element switches off, and causes a first synchronous rectifier to switch on earlier during the time period from the completion of the resonance state to the switching on of the main switching element. Thus, the first synchronous rectifier switches on during the time period, and thus, current is prevented from flowing through a body diode, so that a voltage caused by the voltage drop in the body diode is prevented from being induced in the secondary winding and the third winding. As a result, variations in the output voltage, which is caused by the induced voltage of the third winding, can be prevented. The output voltage can be stabilized.

Switching electric source device

A DC-DC converter has a primary-side circuit connected to a DC power supply and a converter for converting voltage supplied by the DC power supply into an AC signal; a secondary-side circuit for rectifying and smoothing the AC signal transmitted from the primary-side circuit to supply power to a load; and an auxiliary rectifying and smoothing circuit for rectifying and smoothing the AC signal transmitted from the primary-side circuit to supply sub-power supply voltage to the converter of the primary-side circuit. The primary-side circuit further has a monitoring circuit for monitoring the sub-power supply voltage supplied from the auxiliary rectifying and smoothing circuit to the converter and a stop circuit for latching a conversion operation of the converter into an OFF state.

DC-DC converter

A switching power supply apparatus has a transformer having a primary winding, a secondary winding and a tertiary winding; a primary switching element connected to the primary winding of the transformer for providing the primary winding with an input voltage in accordance with an on-off operation of the main switching element; an output circuit connected to the secondary winding of the transformer for receiving a voltage based on the input voltage from the secondary winding, rectifying the voltage and outputting an output voltage; a detection circuit in which the output voltage output from the output circuit is indirectly detected using the tertiary winding, and the detected voltage is output; a compensating-voltage-superposition circuit which generates a compensating voltage, in accordance with the detection voltage, for compensating a deviation of the detection voltage of the detection circuit to the output voltage of the output circuit in accordance with a change of the input voltage and which superposes the compensating voltage on the detection voltage output from the detection circuit; and a control circuit which controls the on-off operation of the primary switching element so that the output voltage of the output circuit is stabilized based on the detection voltage having the compensating voltage superposed thereon.

Switching power supply apparatus and method

A DC-DC converter having a switching element and a synchronous rectifier, the switching element undergoing a switching operation, the converter performing a voltage conversion of an input voltage to provide a converted output voltage at an output/input conversion ratio that is determined by the switching operation of said switching element, the converter delivering the converted output voltage to a load, said DC-DC converter further comprising: a reverse current detector for detecting a reverse current which flows from an output of the converter to an input of the converter, and a reverse current suppressor, the reverse current suppressor controlling the switching operation of said switching element so as to increase the output/input conversion ratio when a reverse current is detected by the reverse current detector, thereby suppressing the reverse current.

A DC-DC converter includes a primary side circuit for allowing a switching device to perform on/off operations to output energy in a primary coil of a transformer to a secondary coil. A secondary side circuit rectifies and smooths a voltage outputted from the secondary coil so as to output a DC-DC voltage. A voltage-detecting circuit rectifies and smooths a voltage outputted from a voltage-detecting coil provided in the transformer so as to output the voltage as a detected voltage corresponding to a voltage to be outputted from the secondary side circuit. A control circuit applies to the switching device a pulse control signal used for controlling on/off operation of the switching device according to the voltage outputted from the voltage-detecting circuit. A primary side current-detecting circuit converts a working current in the primary side circuit, the working current corresponding to a current in the secondary side circuit, for performing detection thereof, and for superposing the thus detected voltage corresponding to the working current with the detected voltage outputted from the voltage-detecting circuit so as to compensate for an amount of variation of an output voltage of the secondary side circuit. The variation is attributed to a variation of the working current in the secondary side circuit. A voltage determined by the superposed voltage is applied to the control circuit.

DC-DC converter which compensates for load variations

On a surface of an insulating board, a front wiring pattern is formed. On the rear surface of the insulating board, opposing the front wiring pattern, a rear wiring pattern is formed in a shape which is substantially plane-symmetrical to the front wiring pattern. An opening which penetrates the front wiring pattern and the rear wiring pattern is formed. At the inner wall of the opening, an electrically conductive layer is formed. Inside the opening, solder, for example, is placed to form an electrically conductive filling. As a result, the front wiring pattern and the rear wiring pattern are positively connected to each other electrically. Therefore, the current capacity and the heat capacity of the wiring patterns are increased, and the amount of generated heat is reduced.

Printed circuit boards

A switching power supply apparatus designed for suitably controlled stabilization of its output. The apparatus has a charge control circuit. If the voltage across an input capacitor is lower than a set voltage when a main power supply switching element turns on, a control circuit switching element turns on and energy is transferred from an input power source by conduction through the control circuit switching element and an inductance, and the inductance stores transferred energy. When the main switching element turns off, the charge control circuit turns off the control circuit switching element to supply the stored energy in the inductance to the input capacitor. If the voltage across the input capacitor is equal to or higher than the set voltage when the main switching element turns on, the control circuit switching element is maintained in the off state and the inductance cannot store energy. The voltage across the input capacitor is thereby limited. In this manner, the voltage across the input capacitor is controlled so as to be stabilized at the set voltage. This stabilizes the output voltage of the apparatus and improves its circuit efficiency.

Switching power supply apparatus

An overcurrent protection circuit provided for a switching power supply has a current detector, voltage superposition device, and circuit for reducing a driving pulse. The current detector detects a circuit current in the switching power supply and converts it to a voltage. The voltage superposition device generates a constant voltage and superposes the voltage onto the detected voltage converted by the current detector. The detected voltage onto which the constant voltage has been superposed is applied between the base and the emitter of a transistor which functions as the circuit for reducing the driving pulse. If an overcurrent flows through the switching power supply, the transistor is turned on and a current flows into the transistor. As a result, a voltage applied to a maximum-duty-cycle setting terminal of a PWM IC provided for the switching power supply and used for pulse-width-modulation control of a switch device is reduced, and the overcurrent is suppressed.
