A control device has a VVT (variable valve timing) mechanism which changes opening or closing timing of at least one of an intake valve and an exhaust valve, and includes: a processor; a sensor for detecting atmospheric pressure; and a sensor for detecting the amount of air flowing through an intake air flow path. The processor calculates a charging efficiency based on the detected amount of air, calculates a volumetric efficiency from the detected amount of air and the detected atmospheric pressure, calculates the charging efficiency valve opening timing of the intake valve based on the charging efficiency, calculates the volumetric efficiency valve opening timing of the intake valve based on the volumetric efficiency, and sets the valve opening timing(s) of at least one of the intake valve and the exhaust valve based on one of the charging efficiency valve opening timing and the volumetric efficiency valve opening timing.

A fuel injection control apparatus switches between MPI and DI+MPI modes. The apparatus includes a unit calculating a DI direct combustion rate that is the rate of that portion of the amount of DI injection corresponding to a fuel combusted instead of adhering to inside of the cylinder, and a unit calculating a cylinder vaporization rate that is the rate of the amount of that portion of the fuel adhering to the inside of the cylinder which vaporizes. The former unit controls fuel injection based at least on the DI direct combustion rate and the cylinder vaporization rate. When the mode is switched between the MPI mode and the DI+MPI mode, the former unit corrects the DI direct combustion rate or the cylinder vaporization rate to set the amount of fuel injection to a value different from that set when the fuel injection modes are maintained.

The engine control unit controls the positions of the throttle valve and the exhaust bypass valve based on the driver request torque during an ordinary drive, and if a prescribed drive condition is satisfied, the engine control unit controls the position of the throttle valve based on the restriction torque and controls the position of the exhaust bypass valve based on the corrected torque.

The fuel injection control device has a fuel pressure adjustment means which, when the injection form of the internal combustion engine is changed, adjusts the working state of a high pressure supply pump such that the amount of fuel injection from the second fuel injection valve stabilizes, before changing the working state of the high pressure supply pump in accordance with the injection form.

A control device for an internal combustion engine, which can accurately estimate an intake air amount introduced from an intake system into an internal combustion engine, is provided. The control device calculates the change amount of an air amount in an upstream section upstream of a throttle valve of the intake system based on the pressure and temperature of air in the upstream section; calculates a throttle passage air amount flowing out to an intake manifold, which is a section downstream of the throttle valve, based on the change amount and an introduced air amount flowing into a supercharger; and calculates the intake air amount based on the throttle passage air amount.

An engine controlling apparatus includes a setting unit that sets a demand torque to an engine, a detection unit that detects a fluctuation of an external load, and a correction unit that corrects the demand torque. The apparatus includes a target torque calculation unit that calculates a target torque based on the demand torque, a control unit that controls an amount of air to be introduced into the engine so that an output torque may come close to the target torque, and an ignition timing detection unit that detects an ignition timing of the engine. The correction unit adds a torque increment for coping with a fluctuation of the external load to the demand torque to determine an increment correction demand torque and increases or decreases the increment correction demand torque in response to a displacement amount of the ignition timing from a predetermined reference value.

An output control device of a vehicle is provided. A flow speed ratio calculator obtains a flow speed ratio which is a ratio between a flow speed of an intake air of the internal combustion engine realizing a current base request torque which is currently calculated and a flow speed of the intake air of the internal combustion engine realizing a previous request torque which is previously calculated. A base request torque corrector corrects the base request torque based on the flow speed ratio. A controller controls a driving parameter of the internal combustion engine according to the current request torque which is currently calculated based on the current base request torque corrected by the base request torque corrector.
