The present embodiment is a fuel cell including a stacked body of single cells each of which includes a power generating unit and separators disposed on both surfaces of the power generating unit, in which the separators each include a metal base material, a carbon layer made of carbon and formed on a first surface of the metal base material on a power generating unit side, and a titanium nitride layer made of titanium nitride and formed on a second surface of the metal base material opposite to the first surface.

Provided are a low-price fuel cell separator with high corrosion resistance and a method for manufacturing the separator. The present disclosure relates to a fuel cell separator including a metal substrate and a titanium layer containing titanium formed on the metal substrate, and a method for manufacturing the separator. A ratio of a (100) plane to a sum of values obtained by dividing peak intensities of the (100) plane, a (002) plane, and a (101) plane derived from titanium in an X-ray diffraction analysis of a separator surface by respective relative intensities is a constant value or more.

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a hot stamped body, the method including: a hot-rolling step; a coiling step; a cold-rolling step; a continuous annealing step; and a hot stamping step, in which the continuous annealing step includes a heating step of heating the cold-rolled steel sheet to a temperature range of equal to or higher than Ac&#xb0; C. and lower than Ac&#xb0; C.; a cooling step of cooling the heated cold-rolled steel sheet from the highest heating temperature to 660&#xb0; C. at a cooling rate of equal to or less than 10&#xb0; C./s; and a holding step of holding the cooled cold-rolled steel sheet in a temperature range of 550&#xb0; C. to 660&#xb0; C. for one minute to 10 minutes.

An iron-based sintered alloy of the present invention is an iron-based sintered alloy, which is completed by sintering a powder compact made by press forming a raw material powder composed of Fe mainly, and is such that: when the entirety is taken as 100% by mass, carbon is 0.1-1.0% by mass; Mn is 0.01-1.5% by mass; the sum of the Mn and Si is 0.02-3.5% by mass; and the major balance is Fe. It was found out that, by means of an adequate amount of Mn and Si, iron-based sintered alloys are strengthened and additionally a good dimensional stability is demonstrated. As a result, it is possible to suppress or obsolete the employment of Cu or Ni, which has been believed to be essential virtually, the recyclability of iron-based sintered alloys can be enhanced, and further their cost reduction can be intended.

There is provided an iron-based sintered material resistant to the metal fatigue developing from the voids therein functioning as the initial points and improved in the strength and machinability thereof. An iron-based sintered material, including a mixed structure of martensite, bainite, and pearlite and multiple voids formed in the mixed structure, wherein the ratio of martensite and bainite in the mixed structure is 70% or more; the ratio of martensite and/or bainite in the mixed structure forming the void surface is 90% or more; and the density of the iron-based sintered material is 7.4 g/cmor more.

Iron-based sintered material and production method thereof

Disclosed is a piston for internal-combustion engines, which includes a low thermal-conductive member disposed at the top portion thereof, the low thermal-conductive member including an alloy containing Fe and Mn. The low thermal-conductive member includes a sintered body having 10&#x2dc;60 mass % of Mn, 2 mass % or less of C, and the balance of Fe and inevitable impurities. Since the piston has the low thermal-conductive member having low thermal conductivity and thermal expansion properties similar to those of the aluminum alloy, which is the base metal of the piston, an increase in the temperature of a combustion chamber and vaporization of fuel are effectively promoted. Furthermore, thermal fatigue failure and separation of the low thermal-conductive member are prevented.
