A calibration apparatus for an onboard camera includes an image acquiring unit, a marker recognizing unit, a movement distance calculating unit, an image storage unit, and a calibration unit. The movement distance calculating unit calculates a movement distance of a vehicle based on a number of times that a process in which a first feature portion in a marker moves to a position overlapping a second feature position in the marker in the image is repeated. The image storage unit stores a specific image that includes the marker. The calibration unit calibrates the onboard camera using the specific image. The image storage unit stores, as the specific image, (a) the image in which the marker is recognized, and (b) the image acquired when the movement distance from a position of the vehicle when the specific image has been acquired in the past reaches a predetermined distance.

Calibration apparatus for onboard camera and calibration method for onboard camera

A calibration device acquires an image of an imaging target located ahead of a vehicle. Images of the imaging targets behind the vehicle are acquired, which are different from the acquired images captured in the forward direction. The shape and size of the imaging targets are already known. The calibration device performs projective transformation for the imaging targets shown in overlap regions of the acquired images, and identifies a roll, a pitch and a vertical position of each camera such that the conversion results are in agreement with the shape and size of the targets. The calibration device identifies an x-coordinate, a y-coordinate, and a yaw of each camera such that one link angle in a virtual link structure is minimized.

An onboard periphery image display device for adjusting transformation rule of each camera mounted on an automobile is provided. A predetermined calibration pattern of a calibration member is placed in a capture area of a reference camera and another calibration pattern of the calibration member is placed in a capture area of an adjustment-targeted camera. The onboard periphery image display detects a coordinate of an image of a reference calibration pattern based on the image of the predetermined calibration pattern captured by the reference camera, detects an coordinate of an image of an adjustment calibration pattern based on the image of the another calibration pattern captured by the adjustment-targeted camera, and adjusts the transformation rule determined for the adjustment-targeted camera based on the detected coordinates.

Vehicle periphery image display device and camera adjustment method

An in-vehicle camera calibrator is provided. The in-vehicle camera calibrator includes a targeted camera selector for selecting a targeted camera requiring the calibration, an intermediate camera selector for selecting an intermediate camera which is the in-vehicle camera that intervenes between the targeted camera and a criterial camera, a first calibrator for, when the intermediate camera is not selected, calibrating the targeted camera based on a captured image of an overlapping region between the criterial camera and the targeted camera, and a second calibrator for, when the intermediate camera is selected, calibrating the intermediate camera based on a captured image of an overlapping region between the criterial camera and the targeted camera, and then calibrating the targeted camera based on a captured image between the calibrated intermediate camera and the targeted camera.

A calibration method for calibrating an attitude of a camera mounted on a vehicle using markers each arranged vertically and each positioned at a pre-designated height from a road surface. The method includes: a first process including shooting an image of the markers with the camera, thereby generating a two-dimensional image; a second process including converting the two-dimensional image into a bird's eye view image on a specific plane so that the bird's eye view image reflects the height of each of the markers; and a third process including calculating a parameter of the camera based on a position difference between the markers in the specific plane obtained in the second process.

Calibration method and calibration device

An image generation device for referencing a correspondence relationship and generating a line-of-sight-converted image from a captured image of an in-vehicle camera mounted to a vehicle is provided. The image generation device includes a first region updating unit that, upon sensing deviation of at least one of the mounting position and the mounting angle of the in-vehicle camera and calculating a new mounting position and mounting angle, updates a correspondence relationship of a predetermined first region in the line-of-sight-converted image in accordance with the new mounting position and mounting angle, and a second region updating unit that, upon satisfaction of a predetermined updating condition after updating the correspondence relationship of the first region, updates the correspondence relationship for a second region in the line-of-sight-converted image in accordance with the new mounting position and mounting angle.

A cleaning apparatus for an in-vehicle optical sensor includes a cleaning liquid nozzle and an air nozzle. The cleaning liquid nozzle jets out a cleaning liquid toward a lens surface of a lens of the in-vehicle optical sensor or a translucent surface of a translucent cover covering the lens surface when the translucent cover exists. The air nozzle jets out air toward a used cleaning liquid, which was jetted out from the cleaning liquid nozzle and cleaned the lens surface or the translucent surface, to prevent the used cleaning liquid from dropping from the lens surface or the translucent surface on a predetermined position by blowing away the used cleaning liquid.

Cleaning apparatus for in-vehicle optical sensor

A camera washing device has an air pump, a wash water tank storing wash water, an injection nozzle with an injection part, a junction joint having a high-pressure air passage and a wash water passage, and an electromagnetic valve. The air pump generates and supplies high-pressure air to the high-pressure air passage. When the control part instructs the electromagnetic valve to be switched to an open state, the wash water and the high-pressure air are mixed in the junction joint to generate water particles. The generated water particles are supplied to the injection nozzle. When the electromagnetic valve is switched to the open state after injecting the high-pressure air only to a lens of a rear camera, the injection part injects the water particles to the lens of the camera.

Camera washing device for camera lens

A housing is constructed of a transmission case and an oil pan and has a space therein. A through hole passes through the transmission case. A pressure control unit is housed in the housing and controls hydraulic pressure supplied to a transmission mechanism by the operation of a solenoid valve. An internal cable is housed in the housing and is electrically connected to the solenoid valve of the pressure control unit. An external cable is electrically connected to an engine control unit outside the housing. A connector is arranged in such a way as to pass through the through hole and is electrically connected to the internal cable and the external cable. The connector has an external exposed portion, which is exposed outside the housing, formed in such a way as to be able to pass through the through hole.

Automatic transmission

An automatic transmission includes a pressure adjusting unit that controls hydraulic pressure supplied to a transmission mechanism by the operation of a solenoid valve. A housing has a heat radiating portion for radiating heat to the outside and houses the pressure adjusting unit. A first connector is so arranged as to pass through the housing and has a control circuit unit electrically connected to the solenoid valve of the pressure adjusting unit. A second connector is electrically connected to an engine control unit outside the housing and engages with the first connector and the heat radiating portion. The second connector is electrically connected to the control circuit unit and presses the first connector onto the heat radiating portion.

A fluid circuit module controls a fluid to be supplied to a movable element in an automatic transmission. The fluid circuit module is provided with a first body in which a first flow passage is formed, a second body in which a second flow passage is formed. A separation plate is set between the first body and the second body and has a deformation portion that is deformed and strained in accordance with the difference between pressures in the first flow passage and the second flow passage. A strain sensor is attached to the deformation portion for detecting a strain of the deformation portion. A control means controls a supply fluid to be supplied to the movable element on the basis of a detection result of the strain sensor.

A method and apparatus of controlling a synchronous motor having a rotor, and a stator which produces a magnetic flux for rotating the rotor about an axis thereof, the method including the steps of detecting an angular position and a rotating speed of the rotor; estimating a phase difference between a voltage and an electric current of the synchronous motor, on the basis of the detected rotating speed of the rotor; and adjusting an advance angle of the rotor upon excitation of the synchronous motor, as a result of comparison of the detected rotating speed of the rotor with a target value, to thereby control the rotating speed and direction of the rotor.

Disclosed herein is a catalyst composition for transalkylation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons which exhibits the percent conversion of ethyltoluene higher than 50 wt %, is composed of mordenite (100 pbw), inorganic oxide and/or clay (25-150 pbw), and at least one metal component of rhenium, platinum, and nickel, and contains mordenite such that the maximum diameter of secondary particles of mordenite is smaller than 10 &mgr;m. Disclosed also herein is a process for producing xylene by the aid of said catalyst from alkylaromatic hydrocarbons containing C alkylaromatic hydrocarbons containing more than 5 wt % ethyltoluene and less than 0.5 wt % naphthalene, in the presence of hydrogen.
