Provided is a method for manufacturing a container including a casing configured to contain a content, the casing including an inner layer having an inner layer opening and an outer layer having an air communication port communicating between a space between the outer layer and the inner layer and the outside. The method includes preparing a casing in which at least part of the inner layer and at least part of the outer layer are in contact with each other, inserting a support column inside the inner layer through the inner layer opening of the prepared casing, and separating the inner layer from the outer layer by supplying air into the space through the air communication port to bring part of the separated inner layer into contact with the support column. The support column includes a columnar portion and an extending portion extending from the columnar portion.

The pressure in a communication path is maintained while ink in a containing section is not supplied to the exterior. A liquid container enables a liquid contained in a liquid containing chamber to be supplied to an exterior through a supply port. The liquid container includes a first channel, a second channel, and a communication path. The first channel is in communication with a first opening which opens into the liquid containing chamber. The second channel is in communication with a second opening which opens into the liquid containing chamber, the second opening being positioned above the first opening in a direction of gravitational force. The communication path allows the first channel and the second channel to communicate with each other outside the liquid containing chamber to permit a flow of the liquid.

An ink tank includes an ink supply connection port connected to a main body of a recording apparatus for supplying ink thereto, a first ink reservoir reserving the ink supplied to a sub-tank, a first ink delivery passage supplying the ink reserved in the first ink reservoir to the ink supply connection port, a one-way valve disposed in the first ink delivery passage that enables the ink to move from the first ink reservoir to the ink supply connection port, a second ink reservoir reserving the ink returned from the sub-tank, and a second ink delivery passage supplying the ink reserved in the second ink reservoir to the ink supply connection port and joins with the first ink delivery passage at a position between the one-way valve and the ink supply connection port.

An ink tank for being installed in an ink jet recording apparatus to supply ink thereto, including an ink storage portion, one side surface of a casing of the ink tank in which side surface an opening for supplying ink to the apparatus is formed, and a joint member for joining the one side surface to the apparatus by engaging with a connection member of the apparatus. The joint member has a welding portion for being welded to the one side surface along a peripheral portion of the opening, the welding portion corresponding to the peripheral portion; and a hollow portion forming a positioning hole for inserting therein and engaging therewith the connection member for determining a relative position of the apparatus and the one side surface. The hollow portion is provided on the outside of the welding portion and abuts to the one side surface without being welded.

An ink tank with a high volume efficiency and a printing apparatus which are capable of completely using up ink stored in the ink tank. A meniscus holding force (Pm) of a non-compressed portion () of an ink guide member () is set higher than an initial ink-storage-portion negative pressure (P), and lower than a used-up ink-storage-portion negative pressure (P). In addition, a meniscus holding force (Pm) caused under compression is set stronger than the used-up ink-storage-portion negative pressure (P), and weaker than a meniscus holding force (Phf) of a head filter ().

Ink tank and printing apparatus

An ink container usable for recording heads different in flow rate without being affected by a pigment particle concentration of ink held in an ink supply portion is provided. In correspondence with a size of a filter of a recording head used, ink non-conducting areas are provided to a press-contact member, whereby movement of settled ink remaining in the press-contact member is blocked.
