A battery-powered system includes a battery pack () connected to an electrical equipment (). The battery pack includes a first positive electrode terminal (), a first negative electrode terminal (), a first communication terminal (), a first data input circuit (), and a first limiting circuit (D; D; D) that limits a flow of electric current in a direction from the first negative electrode terminal to the first communication terminal via the first data input circuit. The connected equipment includes a second positive electrode terminal (), a second negative electrode terminal (), a second communication terminal (), a second data input circuit (), and a second limiting circuit (D; D; D; D) that limits a flow of electric current in a direction from the second negative electrode terminal to the second communication terminal via the second data input circuit.

A dust collector in one aspect of the present invention comprises a dust collection portion, a communication portion, and an interlock operation control portion. When the communication portion receives an interlock command transmitted from an electric working machine, the interlock operation control portion makes the dust collection portion operate interlocking with the electric working machine. The interlock operation control portion includes a storage portion, in which identification information specific to the electric working machine with which the dust collection portion is to be made to perform the interlock operation is stored.

Dust collector

An electric power tool includes a main body supporting a tool. An electric motor is housed in the main body and configured to drive the tool. A plurality of battery interfaces is integrally formed on the main body, each battery interface having a positive battery terminal and a negative battery terminal. Each battery interface is configured to removably receive a positive battery terminal and a negative battery terminal of a corresponding one of a plurality of battery packs and to electrically connect the plurality of attached battery packs in series with the electric motor. Each of the plurality of battery packs comprises a movable latch configured to engage a corresponding engagement structure defined on or near the corresponding battery interface.

A power tool includes a motor and a controller in a power tool housing. A battery pack interface is defined on and/or in the power tool housing. A receptacle is defined on and/or in the power tool housing to removably accommodate a wireless communication adapter such that the wireless communication adapter is disposed entirely within a shell of the power tool and no portion of the wireless communication adapter extends beyond an outer contour of the power tool housing. At least one communication terminal is disposed within the receptacle and is electrically connectable to the wireless communication adapter. The controller outputs to the at least one communication terminal a signal indicating a charge level of a battery pack attached to the battery pack interface, a number of hours of operation of the power tool, a power tool overheated alert, and/or a battery pack overloaded alert.

A battery pack is configured to supply electric power to an electric work machine, such as a power tool or outdoor power equipment. The battery pack includes a first battery-signal terminal and a second battery-signal terminal. The first battery-signal terminal outputs, to the electric work machine, a first signal indicating that discharging is to be prohibited or permitted. The second battery-signal terminal outputs, to the electric work machine, a second signal indicating that discharging is to be prohibited or permitted. Thus, two communication paths are provided for transmitting signals to permit or prohibit discharging of the battery pack.

An electric working machine in one aspect of the present disclosure includes a motor, an information output circuit, a control circuit, and a drive stop circuit. The information output circuit outputs state information that indicates a state of the electric working machine. The control circuit executes a motor control process in accordance with a computer program. The drive stop circuit executes a motor stop operation. The motor stop operation includes disabling a permission to drive the motor by the control circuit to stop the motor in response to the state information indicating that the motor should be stopped. The motor stop operation is implemented by hardware.

Electric working machine

An electric work machine (), such as a power tool, includes a motor () having a rotor, a drive part () that supplies electric currents to drive the motor, a rotational-direction selection part (), and a motor-control part (). The rotational-direction selection part is configured for manually setting (selecting) the rotational direction of the rotor and outputs first and second setting signals that each indicate the set (selected) rotational direction. The motor-control part controls the drive part such that the rotor rotates in the rotational direction indicated by the first setting signal and/or the second setting signal. In response to a determination that the rotational directions indicated by the first and second setting signals are inconsistent, the motor-control part stops or prevents the drive of the motor.

Electric work machine

An electric powered work machine according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes: a tool; a motor; a manual switch; an electric current path; a shunt resistor; a reference voltage generation circuit; and an electric current measurement circuit. The reference voltage generation circuit (i) generates a reference voltage having a first magnitude in response to a first condition being established, and (ii) generates the reference voltage having a second magnitude in response to the first condition not being established. The electric current measurement circuit (i) receives the reference voltage and a measured voltage, and (ii) outputs an output voltage based on the reference voltage and the measured voltage.

Technique for measuring electric current flowing in electric powered work machine

A battery-powered portable tool includes: a battery pack containing at least one all-solid-state battery cell; a tool main body, on which and/or inside which the battery pack is mountable and from which the battery pack is demountable; and a plurality of components contained in the battery pack and/or in the tool main body. The plurality of components is disposed in a first layout or physical configuration when the temperature is low and is disposed in a second layout or physical configuration when the temperature is high. The first layout or physical configuration differs from the second layout or physical configuration.

Battery-powered portable tool

An electric powered work machine includes an inverter circuit, a power-source-side switching element, a power-source-side resistor, at least one circuit-side resistor, and a fault determiner. The power-source-side switching element is arranged between a direct-current power source and the inverter circuit. The power-source-side resistor is connected in parallel to the power-source-side switching element. The circuit-side resistor is connected to the inverter circuit in such a state that electrical conduction is possible between a positive side and a negative side of the direct-current power source in the inverter circuit in a case where semiconductor switching elements in the inverter circuit are all OFF. The fault determiner determines whether the switching elements are short-circuited based on a voltage at a connection point between the power-source-side switching element and the inverter circuit.

Electric powered work machine

An electric work machine includes a motor, a manipulator, a first switch, a second switch, and a control circuit. The manipulator is on-operated or off-operated by a user of the electric work machine. Each of the first switch and the second switch is turned on or off in response to the manipulator being on-operated or off-operated. The control circuit executes a motor control process in accordance with a computer program. The control circuit receives first switch information from the first switch, and receives second switch information from the second switch. The motor control process outputs a drive command for driving the motor in response to the first switch information and the second switch information indicating that the manipulator is on-operated.

A cart may include: a driving wheel; a motor configured to rotate the driving wheel; a motor drive circuit configured to drive the motor; a motor brake circuit configured to electrically brake the motor; a rotation speed sensor configured to detect a rotation speed of the motor; and a control device configured to control the motor via the motor drive circuit and the motor brake circuit based on a target rotation speed of the motor and the rotation speed detected by the rotation speed sensor. The motor brake circuit may include an electronically variable resistance element configured to operate in a linear mode and a switching mode in response to a control input signal. The motor brake circuit may be configured to operate the electronically variable resistance element in the linear mode when braking the motor.

An electric working machine in one aspect of the present disclosure includes a driving device, a controller, a control power source, and an operation state determiner. The control power source includes a first converter and a second converter. The control power source transitions to a first conversion state when the operation state determiner determines that the controller is in a control operation state. The control power source in the first conversion state supplies a first control current to the controller. The control power source transitions to a second conversion state when the operation state determiner determines that the controller is in a low power operation state. The control power source in the second conversion state (i) stops operation of the first converter, and (ii) supplies a second control current to the controller.
