A vibrating-tube fluid measurement device includes a tube, a base block, a magnet which applies a magnetic field to the tube, an excitation source which generates vibration of the tube, a vibration sensor which measures a signal corresponding to a vibration frequency of the tube, and an electrical isolator formed of glass, wherein the vibrating tube is mounted to a base block via the electrical isolator and electrically isolated from the base block via the electrical isolator.

A tool for monopole and multipole sonic logging includes an acoustic source section, an acoustic receiver section, and an isolator section disposed therebetween. The tool may include a mandrel having integrally formed alternating first portions having a first outer diameter and second portions having a second outer diameter. The second outer diameter is smaller than the first outer diameter, which allows the portions to function acoustically as a mass and spring system. The isolator section sufficiently mutes or delays extensional and flexural modes intrinsic to the logging tool itself. Thus, the effects of the tool presence on the measurements are minimized. In addition, a plurality of axially oriented grooves are defined in an outer surface of the acoustic receiver section, and each groove is configured for receiving an acoustic receiver module that includes a sensor, an amplifier, an A/D converter, and a digital multiplexer.

Apparatus for monopole and multipole sonic logging of a downhole formation

A seal assembly and an apparatus including the same are provided. The seal assembly may include a seal member with axially opposing sides and one or two back-up rings for substantially supporting at least one side of the seal member. The seal member may be made of elastomer and have an axially extending base with one or two flange portions and a protrusion extending perpendicularly from the base. The back-up ring may be made of a plastic material and a portion of the back-up ring may abut a radially outer surface of the flange portion of the seal member.

Acoustic isolators are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes a transmitter to transmit an acoustic signal. The example apparatus also includes an acoustic isolator substantially surrounding a receiver, and the receiver is to receive the acoustic signal via an opening in the acoustic isolator. The transmitter and the acoustic isolator are coupled to a base. The acoustic isolator includes a first layer coupled to a second layer defining a plurality of spaces. The second layer is to provide an acoustic impedance mismatch.

A system and method is disclosed for utilizing a radio frequency communication system to wirelessly exchange data with well logging tools and external devices. A logging tool component is operably fitted with an extension antenna which travels through the thick casing of the logging tool. The extension antenna enables data exchange, for example, between radio frequency identification tags inside the logging tool and devices outside of the logging tool.

Methods and systems for wellhole logging utilizing radio frequency communication

An apparatus disclosed herein includes a shell movably coupled to a base. The shell defines a chamber, and a counterweight is disposed in the chamber. A first spring is coupled to the shell and a first end of the counterweight, and a second spring is coupled to the shell and a second end of the counterweight. The first spring is oriented at a first angle, and the second spring is oriented at a second angle different than the first angle. The plurality of acoustic sources include a plurality of hammer sources, where at least one of the hammer sources includes an actuator that is adapted to strike a surface to generate acoustic energy.

An interconnect layer is formed on a lower face of a silicon wafer, a support substrate is adhered over a lower face of the interconnect layer, and a thickness reduction of the silicon wafer is performed from an upper face side. Next, a photodiode is formed in an upper face of the silicon wafer, and a microlens is formed at a position corresponding to the photodiode. An adhesive layer is formed on the silicon wafer in a region not covering the microlens, a low refractive index layer having a lower refractive index than the microlens is formed in a region covering the microlens, and a glass substrate is adhered to the silicon wafer by the adhesive layer. The support substrate is removed from the interconnect layer, and a solder ball is bonded to a lower face of the interconnect layer. Thereafter, a CMOS image sensor is manufactured by dicing the silicon wafer.
