The flat cable, comprises: a pair of conductive thin platesof strip-shape arranged in parallel; an insulating layercovering the conductive thin plates; and a sheath protective layercovering the conductive thin platescovered with the insulating layer. The conductive thin platehas a thickness of 0.6 mm or less and a cross-sectional width of 4 mm or more. the insulating layerhas a thickness of 0.25 mm or more, the sheath protective layerhas a thickness of 0.25 mm or more, and the flat cable has a total thickness of 2 mm or less and a cross-sectional total width of 20 mm or more.

A compressor includes a casing, a terminal provided to the casing, a terminal guard and an insulating member. The terminal includes a body section and a terminal rod inserted through the body section. The terminal guard is provided outside the casing to surround the terminal. The terminal guard includes a side wall facing the terminal rod in a radial direction. The insulating member is disposed inside the terminal guard. The insulating member includes a bottom section covering an area around the body section, and a side section integrally provided in an erected manner on a peripheral edge portion of the bottom section. The side section covers an inner surface of the side wall of the terminal guard.

A compressor includes a casing having a cylindrical portion, a compression mechanism fixed to an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion, an external portion, a weld nut, and a bolt. The external portion includes a temperature reaction portion that reacts to a temperature change of the cylindrical portion. The external portion is mounted on an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion. The weld nut is welded to the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion to mount the external portion on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion. The bolt fixes the external portion to the weld nut.
