Provided is a crane and a control method capable of preventing an irregular winding from being caused, without significant deterioration in work efficiency. The crane includes an allowable deceleration rate derivation unit and a winch control unit. The allowable deceleration rate derivation unit derives an allowable deceleration rate representing an allowable value of the deceleration rate of the winding of a suspension rope, from a measured load that is a suspension load measured by a load measurement device. The allowable deceleration rate derivation unit derives the allowable deceleration rate that is decreased with a decrease in the measured load. The winch control unit makes the winding of the suspension rope by a winch device decelerated at a deceleration rate limited within a range equal to or less than the allowable deceleration rate.

When an engine is started in a state where a support member of a multi-coupler is attached to a mating support member, the pressure of hydraulic oil increases in a detection target pipeline part. A pressure detection unit detects the pressure of the hydraulic oil in the detection target pipeline part. A connection state determining unit determines whether a tank-side pipeline part and a motor-side pipeline part are connected to each other, based on the pressure. When the connection state determining unit determines that the tank-side pipeline part and the motor-side pipeline part are not connected to each other in a state where the engine is started, a pressure increase suppression unit carries out an operation for suppressing an increase in the pressure of a hydraulic motor.

A changing device easily and safely changes the posture of the backstop of a crane between a support posture and a storage posture. The backstop posture changing device is provided with a first support member, a second support member, a push-up mechanism, and a connection member. The first support member and the second support member are rotationally connected to a backstop and a lower boom respectively. When a cylinder rod of the push-up mechanism is extended with respect to a cylinder body, a push-up member pushes up the first support member and the posture of the backstop is changed from a storage posture on the lower boom to a support posture in which it is possible to support a boom while the crane is in a working posture.

An exhaust gas purification control device includes an engine, an actuator using the engine as a driving source, an operation unit used by an operator to operate the actuator or the engine, an operation detector detecting whether or not the operation unit is being operated, a purification device for capturing soot in exhaust gas of the engine, an accumulation amount detector detecting an accumulation amount of the soot captured by the purification device, a regeneration unit for performing an regenerating operation of regenerating the purification device by burning the soot captured by the purification device, and a controller controlling the regenerating operation. The controller switches a control from a control of prioritizing an operation by the operation unit to a control of prioritizing the regenerating operation in a stepwise manner as the accumulation amount of the soot detected by the accumulation amount detector increases.
