The new organic electroluminescent display device has a carrier-transporting layer and/or an organic luminous layer composed of a nematic liquid crystal or a liquid crystal dispersing a carrier-transporting low-molecule therein. When the organic luminous layer is to be bestowed with faculty as a liquid crystal, it is made of a nematic liquid crystal. Both the carrier-transporting layer and the organic luminous layer may be bestowed with faculty as a liquid crystal. Since the liquid crystal is incorporated in the carrier-transporting layer and/or the organic luminous layer, the display device can be driven as a liquid crystal display device in a dark place by charging with a voltage lower than a light emission initiating potential. Of course, it is driven as an electroluminescent display device when it is charged with a voltage higher than the light emission initiating potential. Use of an electroluminescent liquid crystal as a organic luminous layer enables omission of a carrier-transporting layer.

Organic electroluminescent display device and chemical compounds for liquid crystals

A touch panel integrated type display apparatus has a display portion on one surface and a touch panel on the other surface. Organic electroluminescence device

Electroluminescent device with improved luminous efficiency, where a fluorescent emitting layer and a positive-hole transporting layer are layered on each other and arranged between a cathode and an anode, the two layers comprising organic compounds and the fluorescent emitting layer being composed of quinoline derivative as a host material, characterized by containing in the fluorescent emitting layer, as a guest material, a quinacridone compound of the following formula (A); ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently hydrogen, methyl group or chlorine or the dehydro form of the quinacridone compound.

Electroluminescent device

An electroluminescent device comprising a fluophor luminescent layer and a hole transport layer respectively composed of organic compounds and laminated to each other disposed between a cathode and an anode, said fluophor luminescent layer comprising a pair of fluophor thin films laminated in each other, the material of the cathode-side film having a larger electron transport capacity than the material of the anode-side film.

The electroluminescent element of the present invention comprises a fluorescent substance layer containing a courmarinic or azacoumarinic derivative and a hole transport layer, both made of organic compounds and laminated on top of the other. The both layers are interposed between cathode and anode electrodes. It emits light efficiently at a high luminance upon application of a low voltage between the electrodes.

Electroluminescent element

Disclosed herein is an electroluminescent element which is constructed such that a fluorescent substance layer and a hole transport layer, both made of organic compounds and laminated on top of the other, are interposed between a cathode and an anode. The fluorescent substance layer is a thin film containing a bisstyryl derivative. It emits blue light efficiently at a high luminance upon application of a low voltage.

A display unit for displaying two-dimensional images and pictures comprises a fluorescent layer which fluoresces when irradiated with ultraviolet light and an electric-field ultraviolet light generating device provided behind the fluorescent layer for selective irradiation of the fluorescent layer. The fluorescent layer comprises different types of fluorescent material which emit different colors. The electric-field ultraviolet light generating device comprises a positive electrode layer, a positive hole injection layer, a light emission layer, and a negative electrode layer, respectively.

Display unit

A loud speaker assembly including members which are bonded together with an adhesive compound, wherein the adhesive compound comprises at least one composition selected from the group consisting of alkyl acrylate, alkyl methacrylate, acrylic acid and methacrylic acid; a copolymerized elastomer including at least 5 percent by weight of a functional monomer, an unsaturated nitrile and at least one of butadiene and isoprene; and an organic peroxide. In such a loud speaker assembly, the adhesive compound may be used to provide connection between the cone housing and the edge member, between the one housing and the baffle gasket and, between the cone housing and each of the edge member and the baffle gasket, between the vibrator cone and the voice coil unit, between the voice coil unit and the damper or spider element, between the vibrator cone and the voice coil unit, between the voice coil unit and an electric lead wire connected to the voice coil unit, between the vibrator cone and a center cap member, between the field magnet and the magnet support member, and/or between the field magnet and the pole-piece plate of the speaker assembly.
