A network system includes: a VXLAN region that is connected to a vEPC virtual network and in which encapsulation by VXLAN is performed; a PBB region in which encapsulation by PBB is performed; an edge router that belongs to the VXLAN region and is connected to an edge switch in the PBB region; and an edge switch that belongs to the PBB region and is connected to the edge router. The edge router performs conversion between a VNID of data encapsulated by the VXLAN and an intermediate CVID of decapsulated data exchanged with the edge switch, and the edge switch performs conversion between an ISID of data encapsulated by the PBB and the intermediate CVID.

Network system and relay device

When IGMP packets are relayed to a predetermined router (L3SW), first and second L2SWs update their own snooping tables by snooping. Also, the first L2SW acquires a correspondence relation retained in the snooping table of the second L2SW through a control plane and registers it to the snooping table of the first L2SW. Then, when the first L2SW receives a multicast packet whose destination is a multicast group, the first L2SW extracts corresponding IP addresses based on its own snooping table and converts the multicast packet into unicast packets whose destinations are the IP addresses.

Relay system and switching device for a layer 3 network

A controller of a tag conversion apparatus configured holds tag conversion information associating addresses of communication apparatuses and information on tags of tagging schemes for network separation, analyzes a frame input from one of the plurality of ports and determine a current tagging scheme of the frame, determines a tagging scheme associated with a destination address of the frame based on the tag conversion information, and converts the frame to a frame of the tagging scheme associated with the destination address based on the tag conversion information when the tagging scheme associated with the destination address and the current tagging scheme are different.

Tag conversion apparatus

A first L2SW acquires a correspondence relation between a multicast group and a representative IP address retained in a snooping table of a second L2SW through a control plane, and registers the correspondence relation to a snooping table of the first L2SW. When the first L2SW receives a multicast packet whose destination is a multicast group, the first L2SW extracts a corresponding representative IP address of the other L2SW based on the snooping table of the first L2SW, and converts the multicast packet into a unicast packet whose destination is the extracted representative IP address. When the destination representative IP address contained in the unicast packet is its own representative IP address, the second L2SW converts the unicast packet into multicast packets.

Relay system and switching device

A ring network with plural network relay devices connected in a ring shape includes first and second control ports to be transitioned into either a forwarding state that permits relaying information, or a blocking state that prohibits relaying information; and a ring protocol control unit for transmitting connection confirmation information indicative of communications being possible between the first and the second control port, from the first to the second control port, and from the second to the first control port at a predetermined time interval, or for, in the event that the first or the second control port does not receive the connection confirmation information from the second or the first control port, transmitting failure information indicative of communications being not possible between the first and the second control port, from the first to the second control port, or from the second to the first control port. The ring protocol control unit transitions the first control port into the blocking state when the first control port receives the failure information, or into the forwarding state when the first control port transmits the failure information. The ring protocol control unit transitions the second control port into the blocking state when the second control port receives the failure information, or into the forwarding state when the second control port transmits the failure information.
