Provided is a phthalocyanine compound which is halogen-free and which has a green hue, excellent resistance to organic solvents and acids, and high chroma. Also provided are a metal-free phthalocyanine compound or a metal phthalocyanine compound represented by specified general formula (1-1) or (1-2) and having a N,N'-disubstituted imidazolone structure or piperazinedione structure introduced therein, and a coloring composition including the compound and a synthetic resin. The phthalocyanine compound of the present invention exhibits a clear green color and is halogen-free, and is thus useful as a clear green pigment for coloring materials such as a coating material, plastic, a printing ink, rubber, leather, textile printing, a color filter, a jet ink, a heat transfer ink, etc.

The present invention provides a triarylmethane compound and a color filter containing the compound in a blue pixel portion, the triarylmethane compound being capable of providing a colored material which causes little change in hue over a long period of time even under high temperature or light irradiation. For example, when used for preparing a blue pixel portion of a color filter, the triarylmethane compound is capable of providing a liquid crystal display device or the like which can provide a high-brightness liquid crystal display having excellent brightness over a long period of time even under high temperature or light irradiation. The triarylmethane compound contains, as a counter anion for a basic triarylmethane dye cation, a heteropolyoxometalate anion represented by (PMoWO)/6 wherein y=an integer of 1, 2, or 3, and the color filter contains the triarylmethane compound in a blue pixel portion.

Compound and color filter

There is provided a triarylmethane compound which can provide a colored product that has light resistance equivalent to heretofore available light resistance and that undergoes only a small change in hue over a long period of time even when having a high-temperature heat history. For example, when a blue pixel portion of a color filter is formed, there is provided a triarylmethane compound which can provide a liquid crystal display apparatus or the like that has light resistance equivalent to heretofore available light resistance and that can perform high-brightness liquid crystal display for a long time even at high temperature. There is also provided a color filter containing the triarylmethane compound in the blue pixel portion. In the triarylmethane compound, the counter-anion of a basic triarylmethane dye cation is a heteropolyoxometalate anion represented by (SiMoWO)/4. The color filter contains the triarylmethane compound in a blue pixel portion.

The present invention relates to a pigment composition or pigment dispersion that is ideal for producing the blue pixel portion of a color filter for a liquid crystal display device, and a color filter. The invention has an object of providing a color filter having a blue pixel portion that yields a liquid crystal display device having a high degree of contrast that enables the display screen to be viewed with improved clarity, and a high level of brightness that produces a brighter display screen, as well as providing a pigment composition or dispersion that can be used to produce the color filter. The above object can be realized by using a dioxazine derivative that is substituted with a sulfamoyl group having a specific polyalkylene oxide group, and a pigment composition or dispersion for a color filter that includes this dioxazine derivative and a blue organic pigment or violet organic pigment.
