Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition capable of having a good balance of electrical insulation, seizure resistance and wear resistance. In particular, the lubricating oil composition comprises: (A) a lubricant base oil; (B) an alkaline earth metal detergent; (C) a triazole-based compound represented by the following general formula (1) or (2): wherein R-Rare as defined herein; (D) at least one sulfur-containing compound selected from the group consisting of a sulfur-containing heterocyclic ether compound and a sulfide compound; and (E) an ashless dispersant.

Lubricating oil composition

Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition for gear oil, comprising a lubricating base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 40&#xb0; C. of 140 to 350 mm/s, a copolymer of an &#x3b1;-olefin and an ester monomer having a polymerizable unsaturated bond, a performance additive containing phosphorus and sulfur, and a poly(meth)acrylate pour-point depressant.

Lubricating oil composition for gear oil

A lubricating oil composition for transmissions is provided which improves fuel saving properties and has excellent metal fatigue life and heat resistance. The composition contains 50 to 97 percent by mass of (A) a mineral base oil having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 1.5 mm/s or higher and 3.5 mm/s or lower, a pour point a &#x2212;25&#xb0; C. or lower, a viscosity index of 105 or greater, a % Cof 85 or greater, a % Cof 2 or greater and 20 or less and a % Cof 3 or less; 3 to 10 percent by mass of (B) a monoester-based base oil having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 2 mm/s or higher and 10 mm/s or lower; and 150 to 400 ppm by mass as phosphorus of (C) a specific sulfur-containing phosphite ester. The composition has a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 2.5 mm/s or higher and 4.0 mm/s or lower.

Lubricating oil composition for transmissions

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition having fuel saving properties and providing gears and bearings with satisfactory durability, which is thus suitably used particularly for a gear system of an automobile. The lubricating oil composition a lubricating base oil comprising a mix base oil of (A) a mineral base oil having a 40&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 10 mm/s or higher and 100 mm/s or lower and (E) a mineral base oil having a 40&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 200 mm/s or higher and 600 mm/s or lower and a sulfur content of 0.3 to 0.9 percent by mass, the content of the base oil belonging to Component (B) is 15 percent by mass or more, and (C) and an organic molybdenum compound in an amount of 100 to 1000 ppm by mass as molybdenum, the lubricating oil composition having a 40&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 90 mm/s or lower.

A lubricating oil composition for transmissions having improved fuel saving properties, excellent metal fatigue prevention properties, and heat resistance containing: a lubricating base oil containing (A) a mineral base oil having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 1.5 mm/s or higher and 3.5 mm/s or lower, a pour point of &#x2212;25&#xb0; C. or lower, a viscosity index of 105 or greater, a % Cof 85 or greater, a % Cof 2 or greater and 20 or less and a % Cof 3 or less and (B) a monoester-based base oil having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 2 to 10 mm/s; (C) a phosphorus acid ester; and (D) a boronated ashless dispersant, the ratio of the mass percent of boron to the mass percent of phosphorus in the composition (B/P) being from 0.07 to 0.42, and the composition having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 2.5 to 4.0 mm/s is described.

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition than can keep the metal-to-metal friction coefficient high and is excellent in anti-seizure properties. The lubricating oil composition comprises a base oil and on the basis of the total mass of the composition (A) 0.05 percent by mass or more of a polysulfide, (B) 0.05 percent by mass or more of thiadiazole and (C) 0.1 percent by mass or more of a phosphorus-containing additive, and containing sulfur in an amount of 0.2 percent by mass or more on the basis of sulfur and phosphorus in an amount of 0.2 percent by mass or less on the basis of phosphorus, the ratio of the sulfur basis percent by mass/the phosphorus basis percent by mass (S/P) being from 3.0 to 5.0.

A lubricating oil composition is provided having excellent torque capacity, shifting properties, and anti-wear properties for wet friction materials, which can maintain initial torque capacity and shifting properties for a long period of time, suitable for automatic and/or continuously variable transmissions. The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition for transmissions which is improved in fuel saving properties and has excellent metal fatigue prevention properties and heat resistance. The lubricating oil composition comprises (A) a mineral base oil having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 1.5 mm/s or higher and 3.5 mm/s or lower, a pour point of &#x2212;25&#xb0; C. or lower, a viscosity index of 110 or greater, a % Cof 2 or greater and 20 or less and a % Cof 3 or less, the lubricating oil composition having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 2.5 mm/s or higher and 3.8 mm/s or lower.

A gear oil composition is provided having fuel saving performance and providing gears or bearings with sufficient durability. The composition includes a base oil having a blend of (A) a mineral lubricating base oil having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 2 to 6 mm/s, a % CA of 0.5 or less and a tertiary carbon content of 7% or more and (B) a solvent-refined mineral lubricating oil having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 10 to 70 mm/s in an amount of 2 to 40 percent by mass based on the total base oil composition mass; (D) zinc dialkyldithiophosphate in an amount of 0.02 to 0.5 percent by mass based on the zinc amount; and (E) an alkaline earth metal detergent having a base number of 100 mgKOH/g or greater in an amount of 0.1 to 0.5 percent by mass, based on the metal amount, of the gear oil composition mass.

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition with excellent torque capacity and shifting characteristics suitable for use as automatic or continuously variable transmission fluids, which composition comprises a base oil and, on the basis of the total mass of the composition, (A) a sulfonate detergent in an amount of 0.01 to 0.3 percent by mass in terms of metal (MeA); (B) a salicylate detergent in an amount of 0 or more than 0 and 0.1 percent by mass or less, in terms of metal (MeB); and (C) a boron-containing succinimide type ashless dispersant in an amount of 0.001 to 0.1 percent by mass in terms of boron (BoC); (MeB)/(MeA) being 0, or greater than 0 and 1.5 or less, and (MeA)/(BoC) being from 0.001 to 20.

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition that is excellent in anti-fatigue properties for metals and load bearing properties while having improved fuel efficiency. The lubricating oil composition comprises (A) one type or a mixture of two or more types of mineral base oil having a 40&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of from 5 to 15 mm/s; and (B) one type or a mixture of two or more types of ester-based base oil having a 40&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of from 3 to 25 mm/s and a 0&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of from 10 to 130 mm/s, the 40&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of the mixed base oil of (A) and (B) being 18 mm/s or lower, the blend ratio of the ester-based base oil being from 0.58 to 80 percent by mass, and the 40&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of the composition being from 4 to 23 mm/s.

The present invention provides lubricating oil compositions having excellent anti-wear properties and anti-fatigue properties as well as excellent low temperature fluidity, particularly suitable for automatic transmissions and/or continuously variable transmissions, and internal combustion engines. The compositions comprises (A) a base oil with a kinematic viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. of 1 to 8 mm/s, a pour point of &#x2212;15&#xb0; C. or lower, an aniline point of 100&#xb0; C. or higher, the saturates of the base oil containing 40 percent by mass or more of paraffins, 25 percent by mass or less of one ring naphthenes, and 35 percent by mass or less of two to six ring naphthenes, as the main component, and (B) 0.005 to 0.4 percent by mass of a metallic detergent, (C) 0.005 to 0.2 percent by mass in terms of nitrogen of a succinimide-type ashless dispersant, (D) 0.005 to 0.2 percent by mass in terms of phosphorus of a phosphorus-containing anti-wear agent, and (E) 0.01 to 20 percent by mass of a viscosity index improver with a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 50,000 or greater, on the basis of the total amount of the composition.
