In a curable composition comprising (A) a fluorinated amide compound, (B) a fluorinated organohydrogensiloxane having at least one monovalent perfluorooxyalkyl, monovalent perfluoroalkyl, divalent perfluorooxyalkylene or divalent perfluoroalkylene group, and at least two hydrosilyl groups in a molecule, and (C) a platinum catalyst is blended a tackifier (D) in the form of an organosiloxane having at least one hydrogen atom directly attached to a silicon atom and at least one epoxy or trialkoxysilyl group attached to a silicon atom through a carbon atom or a carbon atom and an oxygen atom. The composition cures into a cured product which exhibits satisfactory properties and firmly bonds to metallic and plastic substrates by brief heating at low temperature.

Curable compositions

A primer composition containing (A) an organosilicon compound having a fluorine-containing organic group and having hydrogensilyl groups at both the terminals of the molecule and (B) a platinum group metal catalyst, and a method of modifying the surface of silicone rubber by using such a primer composition. This primer composition enables firm adhesion between a silicone rubber and a curable liquid fluorine rubber.

An addition-curable type rubber composition comprising a vinyl-containing organopolysiloxane as a base polymer and, particularly, further comprising as a crosslinking agent an organohydrogenpolysiloxane which contains, in its molecule, at least one unit having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein J is an alkylene group of from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, Rf is a perfluoropolyether group, and a is an integer of from 0 to 2. The composition has excellent durability in repeated mold release, and a mold prepared from the composition is able to produce moldings of constant quality even when molding is repeated a large number of times.

A room temperature curable organopolysiloxane composition comprising: (A) 100 parts by weight of a diorganopolysiloxane blocked by hydroxyl group at both terminal ends of its molecule, (B) from 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of an organosilicon compound having at least three silicon-bonded hydrolyzable groups in its molecule or a partially hydrolyzed product of the organosilicon compound, (C) from 0.1 to 15 parts by weight of an alkoxysilane having the following general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group of from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, R.sup.3 is a divalent hydrocarbon group of from 1 to 8 carbon atoms which may contain an amide linkage (--CONH--) or ether oxygen linkage, Rf is a divalent perfluoroalkylene group or a divalent perfluoropolyether group, and n is an integer from 1 to 3, and a cured product of the composition. The composition and the cured product thereof ensure lessened contamination on surfaces of the cured product and in the surroundings, and permit easy removal of fungi, if any, from surfaces of the cured product.

Disclosed is an organosiloxane polymer-based composition curable by the mechanism of the hydrosilation reaction between silicon-bonded vinyl groups in a vinylsilyl-terminated perfluoropolyalkylene or perfluoropolyalkylene polyether compound and silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in a hydrosilyl-terminated perfluoropolyalkylene or perfluoropolyalkylene polyether compound as promoted by a catalyst. Different from conventional platinum compounds as the catalyst for the hydrosilation reaction, the catalyst in the inventive composition is a complex compound of rhodium such as tris(triphenylphosphine) rhodium chloride, rhodium acetate dimer and rhodium acetylacetonate so that the composition is imparted with greatly improved storage stability without viscosity increase over months at room temperature but without affectibg the curability at an elevated temperature.

Silicone rubber compositions, of the addition curable type, comprise as a base polymer a vinyl-containing organopolysiloxane having a tetraorganosilethylenesiloxane unit of the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 are each a monovalent hydrocarbon group of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. The silicone rubber composition gives a cured product having high strength, for example, a tensile strength of 30 kg/cm.sup.2 or above, without compounding fillers or reinforcing agents.

Fluorinated organic silicon compound of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, n is an integer of from 1 to 6, and m is equal to 1, 2 or 3 are novel and useful as treating agents and intermediates for the synthesis of fluorinated cyclic organic silicon compounds. The fluorinated organic silicon compounds are prepared by reacting a chlorosilane with a fluorinated olefin.

Fluorine-containing organosilicon compound according to the present invention is expressed by the general formula: ##STR1## wherein Rf is a perfluoropolyether group having 3 to 17 carbon atoms, R is an alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a group of the general formula, --R.sup.2 --O--R.sup.3 --, wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may be the same or different and are each alkylene groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The present compound is useful as a curing catalyst for organo-polysiloxane compounds that are condensation curable at room temperature. The compositions added with the fluorine-containing organosilicon compound have excellent characteristics such as water and oil repellencies, chemical resistance and contamination resistance and offer a variety of uses such as high performance sealing, coating and electric insulating materials.
