An optical sensor element is mounted in a package which includes a glass substrate having a cavity, and a glass lid substrate bonded to the other substrate to close the cavity. The glass substrate with the cavity has metalized wiring patterns on front and rear surfaces thereof, and a through hole filled with metal to form a through-electrode interconnecting the wiring patterns on the front and rear surfaces. A metalized wiring pattern on the rear surface of the glass lid substrate is electrically connected to the wiring pattern on the front surface of the other substrate with an adhesive containing conductive particles. The glass lid substrate is made either of glass having a filter function or glass having a light shielding property with an opening therethrough filled with glass having a filter function.

Optical sensor device

A low-cost, compact, high-reliability optical sensor device has an optical sensor element mounted in a package comprised of a light shielding glass lid substrate, a part of which has a light filter function, adhered to a light shielding glass substrate having a cavity. In a through hole in the light shielding glass lid substrate, glass having a function of absorbing infrared light and transmitting visible light by its own property is embedded. The light shielding glass substrate is made of glass having light shielding property as its own property.

Provided is a high-reliability, compact, and low-cost optical sensor device. The optical sensor device includes a glass lid substrate (), a glass substrate () with a cavity having divided and exposed through-hole electrodes () on the periphery thereof, and an optical sensor element () mounted on the glass lid substrate, and has a structure in which the glass lid substrate and the glass substrate with a cavity are bonded together. By hermetically sealing with the glass substrates, high reliability is secured. A lighting device has a glass substrate and a lead frame embedded in the glass substrate. The glass substrate has a front surface, a side surface and a rear surface, the front surface having a recess portion with a bottom surface. The lead frame has a portion exposed on the side surface of the glass substrate and a portion exposed on the bottom surface of the recess portion. A line width of a region of the portion of the lead frame exposed on the bottom surface of the recess portion is narrower than a line width of a region of the portion of the lead frame exposed on the side surface of the glass substrate. A light emitting element is mounted in the recess portion of the glass substrate and is electrically connected with the portion of the lead frame exposed on the bottom surface of the recess portion. A sealing material covers the light emitting element.

The present invention discloses color pattern manufacturing method comprising the steps of forming a conductive film having an arbitrary pattern on a substrate, forming a colored layer on the conductive film by electrodeposition, and forming a method film having an arbitrary pattern on the colored layer to shield undesirable light transmittance through between the arbitrary patterns of the colored layer, so that the color filter having high quality is made by remarkably simple process.

This invention allows the high image quality multicolor liquid crystal display to be manufactured by a simple method in which color filters are applied by patterning an insulating resist on a plurality of electrodes formed on a substrate, by forming color filters one after another by way of electro- deposition and by patterning a light shielding substance at gaps of the color filters by utilizing the color filter as masks.

A color electrooptical device is disclosed wherein an active matrix substrate and a color filter substrate face each other and are disposed spaced apart a predetermined distance. The protection film is capable of adhering to the color filters and to a transparent conductive film. The transparent conductive film is formed on the protection film. A metal film is formed on the transparent conductive film which is effective for decreasing the resistivity of the transparent conductive film. A liquid crystal is sealed between the active matrix substrate and the color filter substrate and a plurality of switching elements are formed on the active matrix substrate. The metal film comprises a light blocking chromium film etched into a grid shape. The color filters are formed by electrodeposition onto a previously formed ITO film formed in a striped pattern on the color filter substrate.

Color electrooptical device

A liquid crystal optical device is comprised of a liquid crystal layer and a pair of substrates for sandwiching the liquid crystal layer to effect orientation of molecules of the liquid crystal layer. A plurality of base electrodes are disposed on an inner surface of one of the substrates. A plurality of color filter films are electrodeposited on the respective ones of the base electrodes and have different color tones. A plurality of driving electrodes are disposed on the color filter films for applying a driving voltage to the liquid crystal layer. A protective layer is interposed between the color filter films and the driving electrodes to effect buffering of thermal stress caused therebetween.

Method of producing a multicolor liquid crystal display device

The present invention relates to a color filter substrate and a color filter electrooptical device, for example, such as color liquid crystal display device having a transparent electrode over a color filter formed on an inner surface of the liquid crystal display device. For providing the transparent electrode on the color filter, high-frequency ion plating method is used so as to improve the contacting property with an organic polymer of the color filter layer and the transparent electrode.
