According to one embodiment, a magnetic sensor includes a first sensor part. The first sensor part includes a first magnetic member, a first counter magnetic member, and a first magnetic element. A direction from the first magnetic member toward the first counter magnetic member is along a first direction. The first magnetic element includes one or a plurality of first extension parts. The first extension part includes a first magnetic layer, a first counter magnetic layer, and a first nonmagnetic layer. The first magnetic layer includes a first portion, a first counter portion, and a first middle portion. A direction from the first portion toward the first counter portion is along the first direction. The first middle portion is between the first portion and the first counter portion. The first nonmagnetic layer is between the first counter magnetic layer and at least a portion of the first middle portion.

A first portion of the first extending portion overlaps the first magnetic member in a second direction crossing the first direction. A first counter portion of the first extending portion overlaps the first counter magnetic member in the second direction. A first direction length along the first direction of the first extending portion is longer than a third direction length along a third direction of the first extending portion. The third direction crosses a plane including the first direction and the second direction.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic sensor includes a base body including a base body end portion, a magnetic member, and an element part. A direction from the base body toward the magnetic member is along a first direction. The element part includes first and second magnetic elements. An orientation from the first magnetic element toward the second magnetic element is along a second direction crossing the first direction. A portion of the first magnetic element and a portion of the second magnetic element are between the base body and the magnetic member. A position in a third direction of an other portion of the first magnetic element and a position in the third direction of an other portion of the second magnetic element are between a position in the third direction of the base body end portion and a position in the third direction of the magnetic member.

The stacked body includes a first magnetic layer, a second magnetic layer provided between the first magnetic pole and the first magnetic layer, a third magnetic layer provided between the first magnetic pole and the second magnetic layer, a first nonmagnetic layer provided between the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic pole, a second nonmagnetic layer provided between the second and first magnetic layers, and a third nonmagnetic layer provided between the third and second magnetic layers. The third magnetic layer includes first and second elements. The first and second magnetic layers do not include the second element. Or concentrations of the second element in the first and second magnetic layers are less than in the third magnetic layer.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording device for utilizing assisted magnetic recording includes a magnetic head, a first circuit, a second circuit, a third circuit, and a controller. The magnetic head includes a first magnetic pole, a second magnetic pole, a magnetic element, and a coil. The magnetic element is located between the first magnetic pole and the second magnetic pole. The magnetic element includes a first magnetic layer. The first circuit is configured to supply a coil current to the coil. The second circuit is configured to supply an element current to the magnetic element. The third circuit is configured to detect an electrical resistance of the magnetic element. The controller is configured to control the element current by controlling the second circuit based on the electrical resistance detected by the third circuit.

Magnetic recording device and magnetic recording method utilizing assisted magnetic recording

According to one embodiment, a magnetic sensor includes a first magnetic element, a conductive member including a first corresponding portion, an element current circuit configured to supply an element current to the first magnetic element, and a first current circuit configured to supply a first current to the first corresponding portion. The first corresponding portion is along the first magnetic element. The first current includes an alternating current component. The first current includes a first duration of a first current value of a first polarity, a first pulse duration of a first pulse current value of the first polarity, a second duration of a second current value of a second polarity, and a second pulse duration of a second pulse current value of the second polarity. The second polarity is different from the first polarity.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic sensor includes a base body, a magnetic member, and an element part. The base body includes a base body end portion. A direction from the base body toward the magnetic member is along a first direction. The element part includes a first magnetic element and a second magnetic element. A position of the first magnetic element and a position of the second magnetic element in a second direction are between a position of the base body end portion in the second direction and a position of the magnetic member in the second direction. The second direction crosses the first direction. A first distance along the second direction between the base body end portion and the element part is greater than a second distance along the second direction between the element part and the magnetic member.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes a first magnetic pole, a second magnetic pole, and a stacked body provided between the first and second magnetic poles. The stacked body includes a first magnetic member, a second magnetic member provided between the first and second magnetic members, and a first layer provided between the first and second magnetic members, and including at least one selected from the group consisting of Cr, V, Mn, Ti and Sc. The first magnetic member includes first magnetic regions and a first non-magnetic region. A direction from one of the first magnetic regions toward another one of the first magnetic regions is along a first direction from the first magnetic pole toward the second magnetic pole. The first non-magnetic region is between the one of the first magnetic regions and the other one of the first magnetic regions.

The first conductive part circuit includes a first conductive part including a first conductive part end portion and a first conductive part other-end portion, and a first alternating current transfer element electrically connected in series with the first conductive part. The first conductive part circuit includes a first circuit end portion and a first circuit other-end portion. The alternating current circuit part is configured to apply an alternating current voltage between the first circuit end portion and the first circuit other-end portion. The first direct current circuit part is configured to apply a first direct current voltage to the first conductive part end portion and the first conductive part other-end portion. The first element includes a first magnetic layer.

According to one embodiment of the invention, a magnetic sensor includes a first element part. The first element part includes a first magnetic element, first and s second structures, a first magnetic member, and a second magnetic member. A direction from the first magnetic layer toward the first counter magnetic layer is along a first direction. The first structure includes a first side magnetic layer. The second structure includes a second side magnetic layer. The first magnetic element is between the first structure and the second structure in a second direction crossing the first direction. The first magnetic element is separated from the first side magnetic layer and the second side magnetic layer. A direction from the first side magnetic layer toward the first magnetic member is along the first direction. A direction from the second side magnetic layer toward the second magnetic member is along the first direction.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes a first magnetic pole, a second magnetic pole, and a stacked body provided between the first and second magnetic poles. The magnetic head includes a first magnetic pole, a second magnetic pole, and a stacked body provided between the first and the second magnetic poles. The stacked body includes a first nonmagnetic layer, a first magnetic layer provided between the first nonmagnetic layer and the second magnetic pole, a first layer provided between the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic pole, a second nonmagnetic layer provided between the first layer and the second magnetic pole, a second magnetic layer provided between the second nonmagnetic layer and the second magnetic pole, and a third nonmagnetic layer provided between the second magnetic layer and the second magnetic pole. The electrical circuit supplies, to the stacked body, a first current having a first orientation from the second magnetic pole toward the first magnetic pole.
