There is provided a glass seal weatherstripinstalled to an automobile and having seal lipswhich does not damage a door glass in particular, does not produce strange noise and prevents seal lips of the weatherstrip from being entangled by the door glass. Each seal lipmakes a slide contact with a door glasswhile the door glass is moving up and down. Each seal lipis formed in a tang shape in section and is projected diagonally upward direction. Each seal lipis provided with a flockon a surface of a top portion thereof at a side of said door glassin an area from a slide contact portionto a downside thereof. The slide contact portionis an area of each seal lipthat makes a contact with the door glass. Each seal lipis provided with a sliding memberon a surface of a top portion thereof at a side of the door glassin an area from the slide contact portionthrough the upside thereof to a surface at a reversed side of the door glass

Glass seal weatherstrip

A weatherstrip for an automobile includes an attaching portion having an inverse U-shape cross section. A rising portion is formed in a protruding manner on the attaching portion and lip pieces are formed for sealing between a door inner panel and a window glass. The rising portion includes a sloping guide that leads to a concave groove with which the trim end of a trim is fitted and latched. To attach the weatherstrip to the upper edge of an inner panel of a door beltline, the attaching portion is attached to the flange by insertion. Then the trim end of the trim is pressed against the guide and is, thrust so as to be fitted and latched with the concave groove. Since the trim end need not climb over the flange while keeping a weatherstrip attached thereto, even if the angle created by the door beltline and a pillar is an acute angle, the creation of a large gap between the weatherstrip end and the pillar is eliminated.

Weatherstrip for automobile

A method is provided for attaching door parts of an automobile door equipped with a door glass and a quarter glass. The method includes the steps of: (i) attaching a lower-bar of a division bar inside a door panel, where the division bar includes the lower-bar and an upper-bar separated from and positioned above the lower-bar for installation between the door glass and the quarter glass; (ii) attaching a glass seal of unified parts to a periphery of the quarter glass to form a quarter part, where the unified parts are formed by integrally molding the upper-bar made of resin, a glass seal and a glass run for sealing the door glass; (iii) attaching a center pillar side of the glass run to a door frame; (iv) attaching the door glass to the door panel with support of the lower-bar; (v) connecting a bottom end of the upper-bar to a top end of the lower-bar; and (vi) attaching the quarter part and a remaining portion of the glass run to corresponding portions.
