A computer-controlled automotive air conditioning system comprises an air conditioning unit which, when operated, produces a conditioned air fed to a passenger room of the vehicle. An outside temperature sensor, an inside temperature sensor, a temperature setter switch, a solar radiation sensor and an intake air temperature sensor are arranged for issuing first, second, third, fourth and fifth information signals. A computer-installed control unit is employed for controlling operation of the air conditioning unit in accordance with the first, second, third, fourth and fifth information signals. The computer is operated under a fuzzy system theory so that the magnitude of at least one of the first, second, third, fourth and fifth information signals is divided into a predetermined number of fuzzy labels of membership function to derive a parameter for operation of the air conditioning unit.

A condenser is disclosed which is provided with a forced cooling system adapted to effect forced cooling of a gaseous coolant in the condenser by exchange of heat with water. This forced cooling system comprises an evaporation chamber disposed in a coolant inlet side flow path of the condenser and provided therein with fins, a vacuum tank (or a water pump) for circulating water in a closed flow path passed through the evaporation chamber, an orifice for decompressing the water being introducing into the evaporation chamber, and a control device for effecting circulation of water only when necessity arises. The water is aspirated, when necessary, by negative pressure from a water storage tank, decompressed to a prescribed saturated pressure by the use of the orifice and consequently atomized and allowed to flow into the evaporation chamber, and allowed to deprive the gaseous coolant at high temperature of a large amount of the latent heat of vaporization and consequently cool the gaseous coolant. As a result, the operating ability of condenser is notably improved.

Condenser provided with forced cooling means

An automotive air conditioning system is disclosed which is incorporated with a known automatic air conditioner installed in a motor vehicle. The air conditioning system has first, second and third operation modes which are automatically selected. When the system assumes the first operation mode, air in upper and lower portions of the passenger cabin is discharged to outside of the vehicle through upper and lower ducts. When the system assumes the second operation mode, air in the lower portion of is sucked into an air conditioning unit through the lower duct and cooled and blown into the upper portion of the passenger cabin through the upper duct. When the system assumes the third operation mode, air in the upper portion of the passenger cabin is enforcedly discharded to outside of the vehicle through the upper duct.

The present invention relates to a heater unit for the automobile air conditioner. The heater unit comprises a sensor group consisting of a plurality of sensors, mode selecting means for selecting one from at least two D/F modes above-mentioned, and control means for obtaining 'target blowout tempeature (Tm)' based on input data from said sensor group and for selecting one out of said two D/F modes in which the rate of air through said foot outlet is greater, in the case where ambient air temperature taken by said sensor group is lower than the specified point corresponding thereto. In virtue of this, it contributed to improving air heating performance with window clouding prevented, in accordance with in- and out-car conditions.
