An assembling apparatus places a retainer on a valve spring to surround an upper end of a valve stem. The apparatus includes an assembling head, and a moving unit configured to move the assembling head between the supply position of the retainer and an assembling position. The assembling head includes a holding unit configured to hold the retainer, and a push unit configured to push out the retainer. The push unit includes a push member supported to be able to advance/retreat along an elevating direction of the assembling head, and a biasing member configured to bias the push member in an advancing direction.

Assembling apparatus and assembling method

An assembling apparatus assembles a retainer by engaging a pair of cotter pieces with a valve stem. The apparatus includes an assembling head configured to hold, in a separated state, the pair of cotter pieces in the separated state prepared by a preparation unit and engage the pair of cotter pieces with the upper end of the valve stem. The head includes a storage member including a storage chamber, and a holding unit capable of pressing the pair of cotter pieces stored in the storage chamber against the upper end of the valve stem. The storage member includes first and second abutting portions. The second abutting portion positions the valve stem in the axial direction, and the first abutting portion positions the pair of cotter pieces in the axial direction.

Assembling apparatus, assembling head, and assembling method

An engine testing device including a plurality of seal head units movable forward and backward relative to the intake ports and the exhaust ports. Each of the seal head units includes a plurality of seal heads disposed side by side and are connectable to respective ports of the intake ports and the exhaust ports. A pitch-varying unit changes interval pitches between the seal heads of at least one of the seal head units. The pitch-varying unit includes a plurality of first movement mechanisms connected with the seal heads and movable in a direction across the seal heads disposed side by side, and a plurality of drivers to drive the first movement mechanisms.

Engine testing device

The present invention provides a testing device testing a multi-cylinder engine including a plurality of ports including an intake port and an exhaust port in a pseudo driving state. The device includes a plurality of pressure inspection units and at least one opening/closing mechanism. Each of the plurality of pressure inspection units includes a pipeline connected to one of the plurality of ports, a sensor for detecting a pressure in the pipeline and a valve for opening/closing the pipeline. The opening/closing mechanism includes one actuator and a transmission mechanism connected to the actuator and transmitting a driving force of the actuator to an operation unit of each of the plurality of valves to open and close the plurality of valves.

Testing unit for testing a multi-cylinder engine

A piston supply apparatus includes a piston gripping portion and a piston supply portion. The piston supply portion includes a connecting rod gripping unit gripping the connecting rod of the piston placed in a preparation area, a guide member abutting against a skirt portion of the piston to match an axial direction of the piston with a predetermined specified direction, a moving unit moving the gripping unit from the preparation area to a supply position in air, and a pivoting unit making the gripping unit pivot such that the piston top portion of the piston in a downward state is set in an upward state. The piston supply apparatus further includes a pressing unit pressing the piston top portion of the piston made to pivot to the upward state against the guide member.

Piston supply method

A rotation clamping mechanism includes a rotating member and at least two engagement members that are attached to the rotating member and transmit rotational power. The engagement members engage a rotated object placed in a predetermined positional relationship with the engagement members. The rotated object is rotated by rotating the rotating member. The engagement members are supported on the rotating member so as to swing to an engagement position where power is transmitted to the rotated object and to a release position where engagement is released. The rotation clamping mechanism further includes: an opening/closing mechanism that moves the engagement members between the engagement position and the release position; and a biasing member that biases the engagement members toward the engagement position. At the engagement position, the engagement members clamp the rotated object in a floating state with the engagement members pressed onto the rotated object by the biasing member.

Piston supply apparatus and piston supply method

A piston assembling apparatus includes a piston holding means including a guide tube portion which contains the piston and guides the piston into the cylinder bore. A guide tube support portion supports the guide tube portion to be displaceable in a radial direction thereof. A moving means moves at least one of the piston holding means and the cylinder block so as to locate them at an insertion preparation position where the guide tube portion and the cylinder bore are coaxial with each other. A pressing means presses the piston contained in the guide tube portion toward the cylinder block to insert the piston into the cylinder bore in a state in which the piston holding means and the cylinder block are located at the insertion preparation position, and the guide tube portion is supported by the guide tube support portion to be displaceable in the radial direction thereof.

Piston assembling apparatus and piston assembling method

Production apparatus

A method for adjusting a valve clearance in a cylinder head using a rocker arm of a support point adjustable type. In the method, an adjustment screw is rotated in one direction until a camshaft comes in contact with a cam shaft contact section to make the amount of valve opening zero, then further rotated until the valve is released with a certain valve opening amount, and after that, rotated in a reverse direction by a certain rotation angle and accordingly loosened until a desired valve clearance value is obtained. In the process above, the method determines a first rotation angle of the adjustment screw necessary for the adjustment screw to move from a position where the valve is released with the certain valve opening amount to a position where the camshaft comes in contact with the camshaft contact section. Then, the method determines a second rotation angle of the adjustment screw necessary for the adjustment screw to move from the position where the camshaft comes in contact with the camshaft contact section to a position where the desired valve clearance value can be obtained. After that, the method rotates the adjustment screw in the reverse direction by a given rotation angle that is a sum of the first and second rotation angles.

Method and device for adjusting valve clearance

A work inspector and carrier includes a carrier unit () for carrying a workpiece from a carry-in area to a carry-out area, and an inspection unit () for performing a predetermined inspection on the workpiece. The carrier unit is formed so as to move the inspection unit () together with the workpiece in order to carry the workpiece from the carry-in area to the carry-out area while performing the inspection by the inspection unit. When carrying the workpiece from the carry-in area to the carry-out area, the inspection unit performs the predetermined inspection on the workpiece while being moved together with the workpiece. Thus, the overall time required for inspection and transportation can be reduced.
