An inkjet printer includes an inkjet head configured to perform printing using ink along a main scanning direction onto a print medium by moving in the main scanning direction; a platen configured to support, from an opposite side of the inkjet head, a portion of the print medium being printed by the inkjet head by a printing portion supporting region extending in the main scanning direction; a print heater configured to heat the print medium via the printing portion supporting region; and a fan device extending in the main scanning direction, and configured to blow air out from a blower outlet for blowing the air toward a surface of the portion of the print medium supported by the printing portion supporting region.

A cutting plotter equipped with a device for reading register marks for seal cutting capable of accurately reading the register marks printed on a seal material. The cutting plotter includes a head provided thereon with a light emitting element for emitting a predetermined amount of light toward a surface of the seal material and a light receiving element for detecting the amount of light reflected from the surface of the seal material. A difference between the amounts of reflected light detected by the light receiving element is calculated by a first calculation unit and then stored in a storage unit. A relative difference between the difference in the amounts of reflected light stored in the storage unit and a difference between the amounts of reflected light calculated by the first calculation unit is calculated by a second calculation unit. Also, a determination unit is arranged so as to determine whether or not the relative difference calculated by the second calculation unit is within a predetermined tolerance, to thereby determine whether or not the register marks are printed on the seal material.

A method of forming a perforated cut line using a cutting plotter capable of accurately and rapidly forming a sheet with a perforated cut line along a cut line which is predetermined on a sheet and along which the sheet is to be cut. A cutter pressure at which a cutter is pressed onto the sheet is repeatedly reduced for a micro period of time at predetermined time intervals to form the sheet with a perforated cut line consisting of perforations and unperforated parts defined between the perforations in an intermittent manner.

Method of forming perforated cut line by cutting plotter

A plotter system having a plotter wherein, in a state in which the fore end of a writing utensil grasped by a pen carriage is brought into contact with the surface of a sheet placed on a recording surface, the pen carriage is moved in X-Y directions relative to the sheet on this sheet in accordance with movement data items transferred from a host computer, thereby to depict figures, characters etc. on the sheet surface. The plotter system comprises a nonvolatile memory capable of storing therein movement data for a stipulated pattern to be used in depicting the stipulated pattern on the sheet surface from among the movement data items transferred from the host computer to the plotter. In depicting the figures, the characters etc. including the stipulated pattern on the sheet surface by the use of the plotter, the stipulated pattern is depicted in accordance with the movement data stored in the nonvolatile memory, and the figures, the characters etc. other than the stipulated pattern are depicted by driving the plotter in accordance with the movement data items transferred from the host computer, except the movement data for the stipulated pattern.

Plotter with stored image information

A plotter wherein, while a sheet is being moved on a recording surface, figures, characters etc. are automatically depicted on the surface of the sheet, or the contours of figures, characters etc. are automatically cut in the surface of the sheet. In the plotter, both the side edges of the sheet are respectively held between drive rollers and corresponding pinch rollers mounted at both the sideward parts of the recording surface in opposition to each other, and the drive rollers at both the sideward parts of the recording surface are rotated synchronously to each other, whereby the sheet is moved in the rotating direction of the drive rollers on the recording surface. Each of the drive rollers is formed at its peripheral surface with milling or ruggedness for preventing the sheet from slipping. The plotter comprises piston-cylinder assemblies and associated springs for regulating respective pressures acting to press the pinch rollers at both the sideward parts of the recording surface against the surface of the sheet. It also comprises sensors for sensing the directions and degrees of the wobbles of the sheet moving on the recording surface, and a controller for controlling the lengths of the springs in accordance with the direction and degree of the wobble of the sheet sensed by the sensors, thereby to regulate the respective pressures acting to press the pinch rollers at both the sideward parts of the recording surface against the sheet surface. When the sheet has begun to wobble, the direction and degree of the wobble are sensed by the sensors, and the pressure acting to press the pinch roller against the sheet surface is increased or decreased, thereby to correct the moving orbit of the sheet.
