Novel pyrimidin-4-one derivatives of formula &lsqb;1&rsqb; are provided, which are useful as active ingredients of herbicides, wherein R,is hydrogen or alkyl; R,is alkyl optionally substituted with halogen; R,is alkyl optionally substituted with halogen, alkenyl, or alkynyl; and Q is substituted phenyl. Provided are herbicidal compositions comprising 2-chloro-4-fluoro-5-(4-methyl-5-trifluoromethyl-3-pyridazinon-2-yl)phenyl C1-C5 non-cyclic hydrocarbyl ether in combination with a second herbicidal compound selected from a group consisting of 1-(2-ethylsulfonylimidazo&lsqb;1,2-a&rsqb;pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-3-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl) urea, 2-(2-trifluoromethoxy-phenyl-sulfonylaminocarbonyl)-4-methyl-5-methoxy-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-one, methyl 4-iodo-2-&lsqb;&lsqb;&lsqb;&lsqb;(4-methoxy-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)amino&rsqb;carbonyl&rsqb;amino&rsqb;sulfonyl&rsqb;benzoate, and methyl 2-&lsqb;4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-ylcarbamoyl)sulfamoyl&rsqb;-6-(trifluoromethyl)nicotinate, monosodium salt. Methods of controlling a weed or weeds are also provided in the instant invention.

Herbicidal compositions

The present invention provides for herbicidal compositions comprising (i) 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid or salts thereof, and (ii) ethyl 2-chloro-3-&lsqb;2-chloro-5-(1,3-dioxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroisoindolin-2-yl)phenyl&rsqb;acrylate as active ingredients. The present inventive compositions can control a wide variety of weeds in corn fields, soybean fields, wheat fields, barley fields, oats fields, rye fields, rice fields, paddy fields or the like, with selectivity to crops. Methods for controlling weeds are also provided.

The present invention provides for pesticidal compositions comprising (i) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, a salt thereof and ammonium-DL-homoalanin-4-yl(methyl)phosphinate, and (ii) ethyl 2-chloro-3-&lsqb;2-chloro-5-(1,3-dioxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroisoindolin-2-yl)phenyl&rsqb;acrylate as active ingredients.
