A vehicular information system developing apparatus has an input section through which graphics-related data are externally input, said graphics-related data including graphics data relating to figures to be displayed on a screen and operation description data that are set for respective figures and describe operations of the figures on the screen; a storage section for storing control data to be used for controlling transition between display states in accordance with a prescribed command and display control data to be used for displaying figures on the screen in each state based on the operation description data; and a conversion section for incorporating the graphics-related data into the display control data and for generating an execution program based on resulting data and the control data.

A navigation apparatus capable of outputting the guide information concerning a necessary point input by a driver in response to a request of the driver previously stores map information, specifies an automobile position on the map information by detecting signals such as GPS signals, gyroscopic signals and speed pulse signals, etc., retrieves a point to be guided from the map information on the basis of the present position of the automobile, produces the guide information concerning the point to be guided by processing the map information, and displays the guide information concerning the point to be guided. Further, a guide switch (a touch panel key) as a display mark, a distance to a target destination point and an azimuth toward the target destination point, and a running direction to go at or near the target destination point are also displayed.

Navigation apparatus

An improved fault detector for a vehicle air bag safety system including a balanced wheatstone bridge having a squib resistor at one arm thereof and a G sensor at another arm thereof. Wherein, outputs of the wheatstone bridge are fed alternatively to a single DC amplifier circuit by utilizing switching circuits and a voltage difference of the alternative outputs derived from the DC amplifier circuit is measured for detecting any transition or a fault of the squib resistor without any influence of the input offset voltage for the DC amplifier circuit and of dispersions in circuit constant as well as components of a measuring system, thereby eliminating the precise adjustments which are required in the prior art system during the production stage for providing an inexpensive and highly reliable fault detector.

Fault detector for vehicle safety system

Acceleration speed sensor (3) and trigger means (4) for separating air-bag includes a Wheatstone bridge with reference resistors, (7A, 8A), whereby when trouble occurs, the balance of Wheatstone bridge is lost and current flows to current transformer (12), wherein D.C. noise component is isolated by the current transformer (12) and A.C. noise component is attenuated by phase detection by using reference pulse signals (V.sub.0).

Trouble detection apparatus for automobile air-bag system

A direction display system utilizing a traveling azimuth of a vehicle and an angular coordinate of the vehicle on polar coordinates with an origin set at a specified location to determine a direction of the specified location to be displayed by the use of an indicator taken with reference to a pictorial display pattern of the vehicle. The traveling azimuth may also be used to determine a traveling direction of the vehicle so that both the direction of the specified location and the traveling direction of the vehicle can be selectively displayed on a single display unit operated by a switch.

Direction display apparatus

An on-vehicle navigation system wherein movement components in an easterly or westerly direction and a southerly or northerly direction for each unit running distance are calculated to determine longitudinal and latitudinal variations. A plurality of locations and the longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates representative thereof are stored in memory so as to be retrieved for display. A contraction scale formed of a rectangular periphery enclosing a longitudinal meridian and a latitudinal parallel passing through the starting location and a longitudinal meridian and a latitudinal parallel passing through the destination location is determined on a display unit so that the current position is effectively illustrated on the display.

On-vehicle navigation system

An automotive navigation system wherein a storage means included in the system has not stored therein picture information of an actual map, but instead has stored therein the geographical names and the geographical positions of points as well as the declination of the earth magnetism of the points. When the geographical names of a departure point and a destination point are entered through an input unit, a control circuit reads out from the storage means the respective positions of the points entered. The control circuit controls a display unit to display on a display screen marks respectively indicating the departure point, the destination point, and the current position of a vehicle on an adequately reduced scale determined by the positions of these points. A point nearest to the current position of the vehicle while the vehicle is being driven is determined and retrieved by the control circuit from the storage means. On the basis of the declination information of this retrieved point, the detected vehicle heading direction is corrected to make an accurate computation of the current position of the vehicle.

Automotive navigation system

An automotive navigation system wherein a memory included therein has not stored therein picture information of an actual map but instead has stored therein geographical names and the geographical positions thereof. When the geographical names of the departure point and the destination point are entered through an input unit, a control unit reads out from the memory the respective graphical names and the positional information thereof. A display device displays marks indicating the departure point, the destination point, and the current position of a vehicle on an adequately reduced scale on the display screen. Furthermore, a display control is carried out such that the mark indicating the current position of the vehicle does not extend beyond the display screen during the running of the vehicle.
