A method of adjusting a rotary machine includes the steps of press fitting an adjustable member to one of a housing and a rotary body where the adjustable member is arranged to a reference position at which movable amount or a rotary body is zero, and adjusting the movable amount of the rotary body in a direction of a rotary axis to the predetermined amount by varying a position of the adjustable member that is press-fitted to the one of the housing and the rotary body from the reference position by the predetermined amount in a direction in which the movement restricting part and the contacting part contacting with each other are separated from each other.

Method of adjusting rotary machine

A vehicle air conditioning apparatus includes a refrigerant circulation circuit. The vehicle air conditioning apparatus has a variable displacement type compressor, a first pressure monitoring point, a second pressure monitoring point and an oil separator in the refrigerant circulation circuit. Also, the vehicle air conditioning apparatus has a control valve in the compressor. The compressor compresses refrigerant gas. Displacement of the compressor is variable. The refrigerant gas includes oil. The second pressure monitoring point is located more downstream than the first pressure monitoring point. The control valve controls the displacement based on differential pressure between the first and second pressure monitoring points. The oil separator is located between the first and second pressure monitoring points in order to separate the oil from the compressed refrigerant gas, thereby the oil separator serves as means for manifesting the differential pressure.

Vehicle air conditioning apparatus

A refrigeration suction mechanism used in a piston type compressor. The compressor comprises a rotary shaft, a plurality of pistons, a compression chamber and a rotary valve. The pistons are arranged in a circumference of the rotary shaft to reciprocate in conjunction with a rotating motion of the rotary shaft through a cam member. An end surface of one of said pistons reciprocates in the compression chamber. The rotary valve includes an introducing passage which allows refrigerant to flow into the compression mechanism through an end opened on an outer surface of the rotary valve. The refrigeration suction mechanism comprises a suction passage and a reactive force transmitting mechanism. The suction passage communicates with the cylinder bore and intermittently communicates with the end of the introducing passage in conjunction with a rotating motion of the rotary valve. The reactive force transmitting mechanism transmits a reactive force applied on one of the pistons that is in a discharging stroke so as to press the rotary valve against a mouth of the suction passage which communicates with a cylinder bore that contains the piston in the discharging stroke.

Refrigeration suction mechanism for a piston type compressor and a piston type compressor

An oil separator is provided on a bleeding channel inside the shaft By integral rotation of the shaft and a rotary valve, oil contained in a refrigerant gas is centrifuged via the oil separator. The separated oil is supplied to an interface between the rotary valve and a cylinder block, namely, a clearance portion of the rotary valve. The separated oil is also supplied into a clearance between a piston and a cylinder bore via a suction port and a suction channel.

Swash plate type compressor

A double-headed piston compressor includes a pair of opposite discharge chambers. Each discharge chamber is defined by a large annular wall and a small annular wall. The annular walls are located about the axis of the drive shaft. A limit wall is formed in each housing and is located in each discharge chamber. Each limit wall extends substantially radially to connect the annular walls near the outlet of the discharge chamber. Therefore, each discharge chamber forms a gas passage, which extends circularly about the axis of the drive shaft from the limit wall to the outlet. Compressed gas discharged from the cylinder bores to each discharge chamber through the discharge ports flows in one direction toward the outlet. As a result, pulsation of compressed gas is attenuated.

Discharge pulsation damping apparatus for compressor

In a piston type compressor according to the present invention, a center muffler chamber,is defined in a retaining portion,inside a discharge chamber on the rear side. The discharge chamber,on the rear side is communicated with the center muffler chamber,through a communication hole,bored in the retaining portion,. In the discharge chamber,on the rear side, therefore, a flow passage of a discharge refrigerant gas flowing through the communication hole,and the center muffler chamber,is so defined as to extend from each port,to an external refrigerating circuit.

Piston type compressor

A compressor has an odd number of aligned pairs of cylinder bores. A double-headed piston is accommodated in each aligned pair of bores. The time at which gas is discharged from each cylinder bore is different from that of all of the other cylinder bores. The compressor has a pair of reducing devices, one reducing the pulsation amplitude of the gas discharged from the front cylinder bores and the other reducing the pulsation amplitude of the gas discharged from the rear cylinder bores. The reducing devices reduce the gas pulsation amplitudes of the front and rear cylinder bores at a substantially equal rate. Each reducing device includes a discharge chamber for receiving the gas discharged from the associated cylinder bores and a discharge passage connected to the discharge chamber. The discharge chambers of the reducing devices have equal volumes, and the discharge passages of the reducing devices have equal lengths and equal cross-sectional areas. This structure improves the vibration characteristics of the compressor and thus reduces noise.

Double-headed piston type compressor

A compressor is described having a pair of casings fastened together by a plurality of bolts. A piston is located for reciprocation within a cylinder bore formed in the casings. A cam plate is mounted on a rotary shaft supported by the casings to reciprocate the piston. The cam plate is held by the casings between a pair of thrust bearings. The casings include adjoining surfaces fitted to each other and a member sandwiched between the adjoining surfaces of the casings for absorbing dimensional tolerances of the casings, cam plate and thrust bearings according to the deformation of the member.

Housing construction for reciprocating piston type compressor

A compressor includes front and rear cylinder blocks, a drive shaft rotatably supported by the cylinder blocks, a swash plate mounted on the drive shaft, a plurality of cylinder bores defined in the cylinder blocks and located around the drive shaft, and a plurality of pistons respectively disposed in the cylinder bores. The pistons reciprocate by converting rotation of the drive shaft with the swash plate. A plurality of compression chambers are defined in the cylinder bores for compressing the gas supplied to the cylinder bores in accordance with the reciprocating movement of the pistons. Each compression chamber has dead volume defined by a space having a predetermined volume when the associated piston is at top dead center in each cylinder bore. A reference capacity is defined by the capacity when the piston is at a bottom dead center of the cylinder bore that has the smallest dead volume. The largest dead volume is greater than the minimum dead volume by approximately four percent of the reference capacity.

Multiple piston swash plate type of compressor including different dead

A compressor is described having front and rear cylinder blocks coupled to each other with a crank chamber defined therebetween. A swash plate is mounted on a drive shaft in the crank chamber. Double-headed pistons reciprocate in pairs of aligned cylinder bores. The swash plate divides the crank chamber into a plurality of sections. Holes formed in the swash plate permit flow of the refrigerant between the chamber sections. Recesses are formed radially inward and outward of a cam shoe contacting surface of the swash plate.

A double-headed swash-plate operated reciprocating piston type refrigerant compressor having front and rear cylinder blocks provided with axial cylinder bores for receiving the double-headed pistons reciprocated by a swash plate mounted on an axial drive shaft rotating about an axis of rotation thereof together with the swash plate which is axially and rigidly supported by front and rear thrust bearing assemblies including an elastic unit arranged between the thrust bearing of at least one of the front and rear thrust bearing assemblies and a pressure receiving seat formed in the shoulder portion of the swash plate, the elastic unit providing the swash plate with a axial mechanical support having a rigidity which changes in a stepwise manner in response to a change in a discharge pressure of the refrigerant compressed by the compressor.

Double-headed swash-plate operated reciprocating piston type compressor

A compressor that is constructed for reduced vibration during operation includes a cylinder having at least three cylinder bores, pistons being respectively positioned in the cylinder bores, structure for reciprocating the pistons; and structure for defining a dead volume between each of the pistons and cylinder bores. The dead volumes are divided into at least two groups, which include a large dead volume group and a small dead volume group, and wherein the large dead volume group includes at least two cylinder bores, whereby vibration is reduced during operation.

Piston-type compressor with reduced vibration

A refrigerant compressor, typically a swash plate type refrigerant compressor for compressing refrigerant gas containing therein lubricating oil, which has axially combined cylinder blocks having a plurality of cylinder bores in which a plurality of pistons reciprocate to implement suction and compression of refrigerant gas as well as discharge of the compressed refrigerant gas. The cylinder blocks further have a swash plate chamber for a swash plate supported by a sliding type thrust bearings, receiving the refrigerant gas returning from an exterior of the compressor, and an axially extending central through-bore for a drive shaft supported by radial bearings. The compressor has a lubricating oil system which includes a fluid passageway for supplying a part of the refrigerant gas containing the lubricating oil from refrigerant gas inlet passageways in the cylinder blocks into the central bore to lubricate the sliding type thrust bearings and the radial bearings. Additional gas passageways may be provided in the valve plate for providing communication between some cylinder bores and the central bore in synchronism with opening of suction valves of some cylinder bores so that introduction of the part of the refrigerant gas into the central bore from the swash plate is promoted.

Swash plate type refrigerant compressor with improved internal

A compressor includes a housing body and a drive shaft rotatably supported in the housing body. A drive plate is mounted on the drive shaft. Cylinder bores are defined in the housing body. Pistons are operably coupled to the drive plate and are disposed in the cylinder bores. The drive plate converts rotation of the drive shaft to reciprocating movement of the pistons in the cylinder bores. Each piston compresses gas supplied from a suction chamber to the associated cylinder bore and discharges the compressed gas to a discharge chamber. Force to minimize displacement of the drive shaft in the axial direction thereof adjusts in accordance with at least one of pressure in the discharge chamber and a rotation speed of the drive shaft.
