Injector diagnosis device and injector diagnosis method

An injector failure diagnostic devicediagnoses injector failures for a multi-cylinder internal combustion enginehaving injectorsto, each injector injects fuel to the corresponding cylinder. The injector failure diagnostic deviceincludes: an operating sound obtainment unitconfigured to obtain current operating sound that is operating sound when all of the injectors operate, and obtain pseudo-failure operating sound sequentially for each of the injectors, the pseudo-failure sound being operating sound generated by stopping the fuel injection from one injector while maintaining the operation of the remaining injectors; and a faulty injector identification unitconfigured to determine whether or not the pseudo-failure operating sound of each injector obtained by the operating sound obtainment unitis similar to the current operating sound to identify a faulty injector.

An exhaust-gas introducing passage is branched, on an outlet side of a valve, into parts, correspondingly to the number of an exhaust port of an internal combustion engine and the branching section is located at a position directly opposed to a movable valving element of the valve so as to cause exhaust gas to easily flow only in the direction of the outlet, which has introducing passages of exhaust gas communicating with a plurality of intake ports of the internal combustion engine to approach as near as possible a state in which each of the introducing passages is isolated from another introducing passages, and they assume an aspect just as if the introducing passages do not substantially communicate with one another.

Exhaust-gas recirculation system

The invention relates to a mounting device for mounting an exhaust gas recirculation valve connected to an exhaust gas reflux passage of an engine. A valve housing is mounted on a cooling water circulating part from an engine block, as well as the valve housing forms a part of a cooling water passage. Therefore, an intense heat of the exhaust gas can be absorbed in and radiated by the cooling water. In this manner, an abnormal over heat of a stepping motor due to the intense heat of the exhaust gas is prevented without forming any cooling water passage around the valve housing.

Exhaust gas recirculating valve device

An electrical flow control valve is provided which comprises a retention section for centering a ball retained between one end of a rotor and a surface facing the end. A boss is provided which projects from a motor housing towards a motor holder, is integrated with said motor housing, and retains a bearing in a fixed position. This arrangement allows the greater axial alignment accuracy of the rotor and the stator and greater axial alignment and simplification of the structure of the motor.

A motor shaft for a rotational-to-direct motion converting motor has a rotation stopping portion formed in a plate shape, and a screw portion formed in a columnar shape. In addition, the motor shaft has a hole, arranged in an end portion of the motor shaft in a longitudinal direction of the motor shaft, for positioning the motor shaft in a form rolling. Therefore, a position shift or a phase shift of thread ridges formed on the screw portion can be prevented.

An exhaust gas recirculation valve device is provided with a motor shaft, a stepping motor main body driving the motor shaft, a valve shaft having a tip functioning as a proximal end which faces one end of the motor shaft and a distal end provided with a valve, a spring pushing the valve shaft in a closing direction, and a spring holder retaining the spring. In the case that the valve is cloned, the tip of the valve shaft and the spring holder are caulked together at a distance between the tip of the valve shaft and the one end of the motor shaft so that a distance between the facing ends of the motor shaft and the valve shaft is equivalent to a difference between a stroke of the motor shaft of the stepping motor main body and a stroke of the valve on opening.

Exhaust gas recirculation valve device

A flow control valve is provided with a spring which is compressed in the direction of closure of the valve which opens and closes the valve housing, a protruded part which projects towards the valve drive side into the indented part provided on the upper surface of the bracket mounted on the valve drive housing, a protective member projecting from the valve drive housing towards the bracket, and an aperture formed in the bracket so as to communicate the lower face of the bracket with the outside. As a result, a reduction in the adverse effects of heat from the valve housing and in the entry of foreign objects from outside is achieved.

When a valve lift control signal is received from a control unit,two coils from amongst the coils,in a step motor,are excited and an aperture of a valve,is regulated. When the aperture regulation of the valve,is completed and a fixed period of time elapses, the excitation mode of the step motor,is switched from 2-phase to 1-phase.

The present invention relates to a mounting device for an exhaust gas re-circulation valve which prevents the overheating, due to high temperature exhaust gas, of a stepping motor powering the opening and closing of the valve and the valve main body of an exhaust gas re-circulation valve which opens and closes the exhaust gas re-circulation passage of an engine. The valve body,of the exhaust gas re-circulation valve is buried in a component,of the engine having a lower temperature than the exhaust gas. In such a way, the high temperature of the exhaust gas may be absorbed, dispersed and radiated and as a result there is no need to provide a separate cooling structure such as a coolant chamber and the overheating of the stepping motor,due to high temperature exhaust gas may be prevented.
