A display apparatus for displaying a visual image to retina directly is comprised of an eye lens, a transparent display panel on which a picture image is displayed, a point source of light, and a mirror for reflecting a light which is emitted from the point source of light through the display panel to the eye lens to focus a real image on the user's retina.

A screen cover opening device for a television receiver is provided with a screen cover openably closing left and right side portions or upper and lower side portions of a screen adapted for electively displaying plural different aspect ratio images. Two vertically extending rolls 5a, 5b are arranged at outwardly shifted positions from left and right lateral sides wrapped around of the screen 2 and an endless cover sheet 3 is wrapped around these rolls. Two windows 4a, 4b are formed at longitudinally spaced apart positions of the cover sheet 3. The rolls are rotated to run the cover sheet to change overlap of the two windows to change the transverse width W that may be viewed through overlapped portions of the two windows.

A jet solder bath is comprised of a bath unit which contains a molten solder, a nozzle member provided within the bath unit and constructing a nozzle mouth, a tank provided in at least one side of the nozzle member along the nozzle mouth and temporarily accumulating a solder jetted from the nozzle mouth, and a molten solder outlet provided on the lower portion of the tank and communicating the tank with a molten solder still area provided within the solder bath unit under the liquid level of the molten solder. According to the above-mentioned arrangement, the molten solder can be suppressed from being oxidized as much as possible and the removal of a resultant oxide can be facilitated.

The present invention is concerned with a helical scan type rotary magnetic head device employed for example in a video tape recorder in which the magnetic tape is caused to run obliquely while it contacts the head and in which recording tracks are formed on the magnetic tape at a predetermined angle of inclination relative to the tape. According to the present invention, the tape guide drum along the side of which the magnetic tape is caused to run while contacting with it has a cut-out at its portion free of contact with the magnetic tape, while a rotary transformer adapted for receiving and transmitting recording and/or reproducing signals at or from a rotary magnetic head is mounted so as to be enclosed within the interior of the tape guide drum to reduce the size and thickness of the rotary magnetic head device.

A magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus which includes a rotary magnetic head device, a reel block base plate provided on a chassis plate and having a pair of reel blocks horizontally reciprocable relative to the rotary magnetic head device and operatively engaged with a pair of tape reels of a tape cassette, a cassette holder which is supported by a supporting arm on the chassis base plate so as to be vertically movable relative to the reel block and in which the tape cassette is inserted and retained, an operating mode changeover lever for selecting the various operating modes, including constant speed running, rapid feed and rewind modes, for the magnetic tape pulled out of the tape cassette and loaded into the predetermined tape path, and a drive gear driven into rotation by a driving electric motor, wherein the drive gear is operatively associated with the supporting arm and the reel block base plate. The drive gear is driven into rotation to cause vertical movement of the cassette holder and the reciprocating movement of the reel block base plate. An operating lever adapted for being turned by the drive gear is operatively associated with the operating mode changeover lever, and turned to shift the operating mode changeover lever to select one of the predetermined operating modes. In this manner, the operations of loading the tape cassette and the magnetic tape and of selecting the operating mode may be performed by one and the same driving motor to reduce the number of the driving motors and the size and the thickness of the apparatus, while the cassette attachment and detachment and magnetic tape loading and unloading operations can be performed expeditiously.

Magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus

In an enclosed loudspeaker apparatus comprising a transducer, such as a loudspeaker, for producing acoustic radiation or sound when an electric current is applied to a drive means of the transducer, and an enclosure having an aperture in which the transducer is mounted for emission of the acoustic radiation therethrough with the drive means being in the interior of the enclosure; a heat pipe is provided for absorbing heat generated by electric current applied to the drive means, and for carrying such heat to the exterior of the enclosure so as to permit the application of increased currents to the drive means without overheating. In the case of a bass reflex, or phase-inverter loudspeaker apparatus with a reflex port extending through the enclosure, the heat pipe extends into a duct associated with the reflux port and bears a radiator with fins extending from the heat pipe to the interior surface of the duct to define a plurality of channels extending from the interior of the enclosure to the exterior thereof. The reflux port or other exit opening for the heat pipe may be positioned above the transducer so that a working fluid in the heat pipe for carrying heat from the drive means of the transducer to the exterior of the enclosure is returned toward the drive means at least in the part under the influence of gravity.

Tuning apparatus of the type including at least first and second tuners, such as AM and FM tuners, operable to be tuned over respective broadcast frequency bands. The tuning apparatus includes a dial scale calibrated in at least two sets of gradations to represent the particular frequencies in the respective frequency bands to which the tuners are tuned and an indicator movable across the scale to indicate the frequency to which a respective tuner is tuned. The apparatus comprises at least one first settable element associated with a corresponding frequency band to be set to a desired location along the scale and at least one second settable element associated with a different frequency band to be set to a desired location along the scale. Sensors are coupled to and movable with the indicator to sense each of the first and second settable elements as the indicator is moved across the scale. A control signal generator generates a respective control signal when the indicator is positioned such that the sensors sense a corresponding one of the settable elements. An output is derived from a respective one of the tuners when a control signal is generated corresponding to the sensing of a particular one of the settable elements.

In a tuning apparatus for a broadcast receiver having a voltage controlled variable frequency oscillator for generating a local frequency signal corresponding to a selected broadcasting station, and being provided with a phase locked loop including a reference signal oscillator, a variable frequency divider which receives the local frequency signal, usually through a prescaler, for further dividing the local frequency signal with a variable dividing ratio, and a frequency and phase comparator for comparing outputs of the reference signal oscillator and the variable frequency divider, respectively, and producing a corresponding control voltage which is applied through a low pass filter to the voltage controlled oscillator for determining the local frequency signal in dependence on the dividing ratio of the variable frequency divider; a dial member is provided with a scale calibrated to represent broadcast frequencies over a predetermined frequency band and cooperating with an indicator movable along the scale for indicating the broadcast frequency to which the tuning apparatus is tuned, a series of digitally coded indicia, for example, in the form of holes in the dial member, are provided to respectively correspond to a plurality of broadcasting stations which are adapted to be selectively received by the broadcast receiver, such digitally coded indicia being spaced apart in correspondence with the spacing of the broadcast frequencies of the respective stations along the scale, and an optical or other pickup is movable relative to the series of digitally coded indicia in the direction along such series and in synchronism with the movement of the indicator along the scale for selectively reading the digitally coded indicia and correspondingly determining the dividing ratio of the variable frequency divider in accordance with the digitally coded indicia selectively read by the pickup.
