The mobile communication terminal device has a security communication function, and includes a detection unit for detecting the security level of the destination of connection, and an announcing unit for announcing the detected security level. The user is able to confirm whether security is ensured at the connectee.

A communication terminal capable of utilizing a plurality of radio communication services respectively provided by a plurality of radio communication systems establishing a shared radio communication system is provided. The communication terminal comprises a hardware processing unit for performing common hardware processing necessary for utilizing each of the radio communication services; an IC card that stores a plurality of communication software packages necessary for respective radio communication services; a software selection unit that selects one communication software package out of the communication software packages stored in the IC card, which corresponds to a communication service to be utilized; and a software executing unit that executes the selected communication software package.

When a page message containing a caller ID is received from a caller, a call back message containing one of prepared response messages is transmitted to a call number associated with the caller ID. For this, the system displays the prepared response messages and prompts the user to select one of them. A call back message is compiled from a call back number associated with a caller ID contained in the page message and the selected response message. The call back message is transmitted to the call back number. The compilation of call back message is performed such that the format of call back message is adapted to the type of the caller's communication device associated with the caller ID.

In CDMA mobile communication systems, there are cases in which communications are interrupted with the local base station while the mobile station is searching for channels other than the communication channel. A method is offered of preventing loss of information due to interruptions in such a case. There are a first transmission step for transmitting signals from the mobile station to the base station at a transmission rate R and a transmission output level P (when the transmission output is p in FIG. C), a suspension step of suspending signal transmissions from the mobile station to the base station (when no transmission output power as shown in the same drawing), and a second transmission step of transmitting signals from the mobile station to the base station at a transmission rate R higher than the transmission rate R and a transmission output level P higher than the transmission output level P (when 2p in the same drawing). Due to this second transmission step, it is possible to transmit information which was not transmitted during the suspension period.

Signal strength measurement method and device

A system with a mobile phone capable of receiving a paging message. A method and apparatus automatically transmits a callback message to a callback number associated with the caller in response to a page message. The user of the system prepares a data structure in which a caller ID of each of the prospective callers in associated with information on the caller as well as the caller's communication device. In response to the reception of a page message, the user can display a response message used for calling back the caller when the user is busy. When the user selects the response message, the call back message is compiled using a call back number associated with a caller ID contained in the page message. The callback message can then be sent to the caller.
