Raw tire preheating method and apparatus therefor

An apparatus for effectively heating a green tire generates heat to a metal member embedded therein using electromagnetic induction, to complete a heating formation of a green tire in a sufficiently short time. Particularly, in the thick portion of the green tire which is hard to heat, the efficiency of heat generation due to electromagnetic induction is increased by effectively concentrating a high frequency magnetic field on the metal member embedded therein. The apparatus for heating a green tire includes a local heating coil for forming a high frequency magnetic field along a portion of extending direction of a metal member, a high frequency power supply for supplying high frequency power to the local heating coil, and a mechanism for moving the local heating coil relatively in the extending direction of the metal member.

Apparatus for heating a green tire

An object of the present invention is to provide a bladder which is unlikely to have a shapal variation along the inner wall surface of the tire and can satisfactorily extend along the inner wall surface of the tire. An inventive bladder is used to press the inner wall surface of the tire by a pressurized heating medium during the vulcanization of a green tire and is comprised of a fabric layer (purl stitched fabric layer ) and rubber layers (silicone rubber layers ) placed one over another. Elongation rates of the fabric layer in warp direction and in weft direction both exceed 15% and satisfy: 0.4&lE;elongation rate in weft direction/elongation rate in warp direction &lE;6.0. Since the fabric layer has good extensibility, it can elongate with the rubber layers.

Bladder and tire producing method

This vulcanizing equipment comprises a vulcanizing station, an opening and closing station and a transfer station. The vulcanizing station has a housing shelf vertically having plural stages of placing parts for placing tire mold assemblies movable in closed state, which have pipings for supplying and discharging a vulcanizing/heating medium to the tire mold assemblies placed thereon. The opening and closing station has a placing part for placing the tire mold assembly, an opening and closing device for opening and closing the tire mold assembly placed on this placing part, a carrying-out device for carrying vulcanized tires from the tire mold assembly, and a carrying-in device for carrying unvulcanized tires to the tire mold assembly. The transfer station performs the transfer of the tire mold assembly between an optional stage of the placing parts of the housing shelf and the placing part of the opening and closing station by the rising and falling action along the housing shelf of the vulcanizing station.

When a green tire is molded on a bladder in molding step and then carried into the mold of a vulcanizer in vulcanization step to vulcanization-mold the green tire, the upper bead and lower bead of the green tire are connected and fixed through a center post as they are retained by the bladder kept in the airtight state by an upper ring and a lower ring until the molded green tire has been carried into the mold of the vulcanizer, and a pressure gas is sealed into the bladder located in the internal space of the green tire to lay it in the expanded state, whereby the green tire can be carried between the steps and carried into the mold in the state maintaining a fixed shape. Accordingly, the deformation of the green tire can be prevented, and the slippage of supporting center of the green tire when set in the vulcanizer can be sufficiently reduced.

A tire press comprising a center post vertically movably extended through a center part of a lower ring mechanism and vertically moving an upper ring with respect to a lower ring mechanism , a heater arranged in an outer peripheral position of the center post on the tire inner peripheral side of a green tire held by the lower ring mechanism and the upper ring , heater to apply a heat to the green tire , a first driving mechanism such as a tubular member vertically moving cylinder capable of vertically moving the heater to a suitable height position so as to move the heater to a suitable position independently of vertical movement of the center post , and a second driving mechanism such as a driving motor capable of rotating the heater . By the provision of such a mechanism as described, press molding relative to a green tire can be completed in a sufficiently short period of time.

The present invention provides a tire vulcanizing method for, using a bladder and a tire vulcanizing press, applying preheating and shaping to a green tire externally of the vulcanizing press, subsequently, applying vulcanizing and molding to the entire tire preheated by said vulcanizing press, whereby the time for restricting the tire by the tire vulcanizing press can be shortened, and the cycle time of the tire vulcanizing and molding can be shortened to improve the productivity.
