A cooling system includes a rear radiator that is mounted in a vehicle and circulates cooling water to release heat of the cooling water. A fan that generates cooling air to cool the rear radiator, and a shroud is provided between the fan and the rear radiator and guides the cooling air. The shroud has a double structure having an internal space; the internal space enables the cooling water to pass through the internal space when the cooling water circulates.

Cooling system

A radiator arrangement structure for a saddle-ride type vehicle places, in a saddle-ride type vehicle equipped with a water-cooled internal combustion engine, a radiator to face a front portion of a rear fender and to incline rearward along the rear fender, and a cooling fan in front of the radiator in a forward inclined position. Alternatively or additionally, in the radiator arrangement structure for a saddle-ride type vehicle, in side view, the cooling fan and the radiator are housed in a V-shaped region defined by a main frame and the rear fender in such a manner as to increase a distance between the cooling fan and the radiator toward their top ends.

Radiator arrangement structure for saddle-ride type vehicles

A technique for increasing the capacity of air passing through a radiator main body, in a vehicle having a radiator. A vehicle includes a radiator main body for cooling a refrigerant introduced from an engine main body with a fan for conveying air to the vicinity of the radiator main body. A baffle member capable of sucking air from or blowing air into the radiator main body is attached to the radiator main body. A connecting duct for conveying air to the baffle member from the fan is provided between the baffle member and said fan.

Vehicle cooling structure

There is provided a battery unit in which at least three batteries are lined up in the vehicle widthwise direction and these are connected in series to supply electric power to a driving motor; among the respective batteries, center side batteries that are arranged on the vehicle center side, are arranged higher than side batteries that are arranged on the vehicle outer sides; and a breaker is fitted to the these center side batteries, on a connection path that connects the center side batteries.

Scooter-type electric vehicle

A wheel is provided with a motor having a stator and a rotor and has with a fixed-side member supporting the stator and a rotative-side member receiving rotation transmitted from the rotor. The wheel is supported between a pair of arms with a wheel axle. An axle rotatively supports the rotor and the rotative-side member. An engaging part is provided for engagement with the fixed-side member to position the center of rotation of the rotative-side member with respect to the fixed-side member. The fixed-side member and the rotative-side member are integrated by engagement of the engaging part with the fixed-side member. This configuration allows the axle to be positioned with respect to the fixed-side member, such that the centers of holes in the axle and the fixed-side member for insertion of the wheel axle will be in alignment. The unit U is then incorporated in between the pair of arms.

Vehicle equipped with driving motor

A three-wheeled vehicle having two steerable front wheels is provided with steering structure configured to enhance turning performance during banking of a vehicle body. A bushing is secured to the vehicle body, and includes an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder connected by an elastic member. Knuckles, for pivotally supporting the front wheels, are supported by knuckle supports installed on steering arms secured to the outer cylinder. A first lever mounted on a steering shaft is connected via a connecting rod to a second lever mounted on a sub-steering shaft pivotally passing through the inner cylinder. A third lever installed on the sub-steering shaft is connected to the knuckles via corresponding tie rods. A rigid rod has a first end connected to a fourth lever secured to the outer cylinder via a first universal joint and a second end connected to the body frame via a second universal joint.

Three-wheeled vehicle with steering apparatus configured for enhanced operation during a banking turn

A motor-driven vehicle capable of increasing the degree of freedom of wiring for a motor. A drive wheel having a motor with a stator and a rotor serving as a drive source disposed in a wheel hub is rotatably supported on a wheel shaft between right and left forks. The stator is provided in a body-side retainer member fixed to a vehicle body, the rotor is rotatably supported on the wheel shaft, and wiring for the motor is passed through the body-side retainer member. The brake mechanism is provided on the drive wheel. As seen from a front of a vehicle body, the wheel hub is rotatably supported on the wheel shaft on one lateral side alone from a body center and the brake mechanism is disposed on one lateral side from a body center and the motor is disposed on the other lateral side from the body center.

Motor-driven vehicle

A shifting system for a motorcycle includes a shift link mechanism for transmitting operational force during a gear shifting operation. The shift link mechanism is arranged between a shift spindle and a change pedal operated by a shifting movement. A motion capture mechanism is provided on the shift link mechanism so as to transmit the operational force from the change pedal to the shift spindle via an resilient member including a compressive coil spring.

Shifting system for a motorcycle, and motorcycle incorporating same

An airbag apparatus for a small vehicle for preventing an airbag from being inflated uselessly even when a rider is moved significantly on the vehicle. A first airbag module includes impact sensors, an electronic control unit for generating an output signal when an impact force is determined to be excessive from detection signals supplied from the impact sensors, an inflator which is activated by the output signal from the electronic control unit and an airbag which is inflated by gas generated from the inflator that is mounted on a small vehicle. A second airbag module includes an inflator and a wearing type airbag which is inflated by gas generated by the inflator that is mounted on a rider. The electronic control unit and the inflator of the second airbag module are connected by couplers that can input the output signal from the electronic control unit to the second airbag module.

Airbag apparatus for small vehicles

A pressure difference rearward of a windshield is efficiently corrected in a windshield unit for a saddle-ride type vehicle provided with two types of air ducts for directing the air flow from the front of the vehicle to the upside of the vehicle and to the rear of the windshield. A windshield unit includes an air duct for allowing an air introduction port opening toward the front of the vehicle to communicate with an air blowout port opening toward the upside of the vehicle and a second air duct for allowing a second air introduction port opening toward the front of the vehicle to communicate with a second air blowout port disposed rearward of the air duct to open toward the rear of the vehicle. The second air blowout port is disposed within the left-right width of the air blowout port of the air duct.

Windshield unit for saddle-ride type vehicle

A windshield device provided at a front part of a vehicle body of a saddle ride type vehicle includes an air introduction port provided at a front part of the windshield device and opened toward the front side of the vehicle body. An air blow-off port is provided at an upper part of the windshield device and is opened toward the upper side. An air duct establishing communication between the air introduction port and the air blow-off port through an air passage extends rearwardly upwards. A straightening vane extends sideways in the air passage and is inclined rearwardly upwards so as to be along the air passage. In side view of the vehicle, a first straight line connecting both ends of the straightening vane is disposed at an obtuse angle in relation to a second straight line that is orthogonal to a steering axis and extends to a grounding point of a rear wheel.

Windshield device, and cool airflow device for saddle ride type vehicle

In a windshield unit for a saddle-ride type vehicle provided at the front center of a vehicle body with an air duct for directing the air flow from the front of the vehicle toward the upside, a screen is provided at the front center of a vehicle body with an air duct adapted to lead the air flow from the front of the vehicle toward the upside, a straight portion of the air duct rising in front of an occupant so that a left-right width of a rear wall rearwardly of the straight portion may be narrower than the left-right width of a front wall forward of the straight portion.

To provide rider restraint means capable of allowing a rider to freely leave a vehicle without a manual release operation when there is no need to restrain the rider to the vehicle. The rider restraint means includes a belt restraining a rider, buckles making the belt detachable, a guide rail making the buckles slidable, a retractor unit controlling the slide of the buckles, and coupling release means releasing coupling between the belt and the buckles in conjunction with the slide of the buckles. The coupling release means includes an inner wire, a wire stopper, and a wire end. The coupling release means releases the coupling between the belt and the buckles when the retractor unit loosens the winding after collision and the buckles slide by a predetermined distance or more or when the rider continues to pull the belt in a state other than collision and the buckles slide by a predetermined distance or more.

Rider restraint apparatus

The use of an oil cooler in an internal combustion engine for a personal watercraft is controlled, whereby excessive cooling of the engine during warmup with cold water operation is avoided, and dilution of oil is substantially prevented. The internal combustion engine includes a bypass oil path connecting respective oil paths upstream and downstream of the oil cooler. The bypass oil path permits oil to be selectively detoured around the oil cooler. An oil thermostat is provided in the upstream oil path for selectively opening either a path to the oil cooler or the bypass oil path, and the oil thermostat is operable to switch the flow of oil therebetween. The oil thermostat opens the bypass oil path when the temperature of the oil is below a predetermined temperature, and directs oil to the oil cooler when the temperature of the oil is equal to or exceeds a predetermined temperature.

Internal combustion engine having an improved oil cooling structure, and personal watercraft incorporating same

A water jet propulsion watercraft that allows accurate speed detection of a speed detection unit to be achieved. A water jet propulsion watercraft includes a hull bottom plate with left and right guide grooves for guiding water rearwardly of the hull. The left and right guide grooves are disposed in a fore-and-aft direction at an area excluding at least a front portion of the hull bottom plate. Further, the hull bottom plate includes a flat surface formed at the front portion of the left and right guide grooves and on a surface facing the water. The flat surface is provided with an opening for guiding water to a speed detection unit.
