An electronic component includes a component body, a metal terminal, and a bonding material. The component body includes an element body and an external electrode. The metal terminal includes a first main surface and a second main surface, and a side surface. The bonding material electrically and physically connects the external electrode and the metal terminal. The metal terminal includes a first metal layer including the first main surface, a second metal layer including the second main surface, and a terminal body including the side surface. The terminal body is exposed at the side surface, and the first metal layer and the second metal layer are separated from each other on the side surface. Each of the first metal layer and the second metal layer includes a Ni plated layer. The terminal body includes Cu. The bonding material includes solder.

An electronic component with a metal terminal includes an electronic component having an element body, and external electrodes respectively provided on end surfaces facing each other in an X direction in the element body; and plate-shaped metal terminals having joint portions joined to the external electrodes, and leg portions provided to protrude beyond the electronic component in a Z direction. The leg portion of the metal terminal has an extending part continuously extending in the Z direction from the joint portion, a first bent part bent from a tip of the extending part to the electronic component side at a first angle formed to be an acute angle with respect to the extending part, and a second bent part bent from a tip of the first bent part at a second angle larger than the first angle with respect to the extending part.

In the present invention, a thick film green sheet slurry comprises a ceramic powder, a binder resin including a butyral based resin as the main component, and a solvent: wherein the solvent includes a good solvent for letting the binder resin dissolved well therein and a poor solvent having lower solubility to the binder resin comparing with that of the good solvent; and the poor solvent is included in a range of 30 to 60 wt % with respect to the entire solvent. The good solvent is alcohol, and the poor solvent may be toluene, xylene, mineral spirit, benzyl acetate, solvent naphtha, etc.

A manufacturing method of ceramic slurry being used for producing a green sheet which can have a smooth surface, exhibits a satisfactory sheet strength, and is excellent in workability such as releasing, a green sheet produced by the use of the slurry produced by the method, and a multilayer ceramic device produced by the use of the green sheet is provided. According to the present invention, a manufacturing method of ceramic slurry at least comprising a ceramic powder and a binder resin solution, wherein a high-pressure dispersing treatment of the ceramic powder and a lacquer for preliminary addition, which is a part of the binder resin solution, is carried out so that a shearing rate is set to 1&#xd7;10to 1&#xd7;10[1/sec] to prepare a preliminary slurry, and at least a lacquer for post-addition, which a high-pressure dispersing treatment is not applied, is added to the preliminary slurry which a high-pressure dispersing treatment is applied.

A coating material, green sheet and the method capable of producing a green sheet without a pin hole, having enough strength to be peeled from a support body and excellent surface smoothness even when the green sheet is extremely thin, and being suitable to make an electronic device thin and multilayered, are provided. The present invention provides a green sheet coating material comprising a ceramic powder, a binder resin including a butyral based resin as a main component thereof, and a solvent. The solvent includes a first solvent having an SP value as a solubility parameter of 10 or larger and a second solvent having the SP value of 8 or larger but smaller than 10. The second solvent is included by 20 to 60 wt % and, preferably, 25 to 60 wt % with respect to 100 wt % of the solvent as the entire weight.

A green sheet coating material includes ceramic powder and a binder resin containing a butyral based resin as the main component, which furthermore includes a xylene based resin as a tackifier. The xylene based resin is included in a range of 1.0 wt % or less, more preferably 0.1 or more and 1.0 wt % or less, and particularly preferably more than 0.1 and 1.0 wt % or less with respect to 100 parts by weight of ceramic powder.
