A method of reducing a curl of a recording medium caused by ejection of a liquid by a droplet ejecting apparatus to the medium including steps of calculating an ejected-liquid amount ejected onto an evaluation region defined on the medium and an ejected-liquid associated quantity which is an ejected-liquid-droplet number ejected to the evaluation region or an ejected-area associated quantity which is an area of unit regions to which the liquid is ejected; and a ratio of the area of the unit regions to an area of the evaluation region, and estimating a curl degree of the medium caused by ejection of the liquid thereto or a correction degree necessary for restraining the curl, based on a position of the evaluation region; and the calculated ejected-liquid amount and ejected-liquid associated quantity.

A recording apparatus includes: a record head which forms an image on a recording medium; a conveyance mechanism which has an outer circumferential surface opposing the record head and conveys the recording medium placed on the outer circumferential surface; and a media attracting unit which causes the recording medium to be attracted onto the outer circumferential surface and includes a first electrode which is provided to oppose an inner circumferential surface of the conveyance belt which surface is opposite to the outer circumferential surface of the conveyance belt, a second electrode which opposes the outer circumferential surface of the conveyance belt and is detached from the outer circumferential surface, and a voltage supply unit which applies a voltage across the first electrode and the second electrode.

A recording apparatus includes a recording unit that forms an image on a recording medium, a recording medium conveying unit, which confronts the recording unit, and which includes a recording medium supporting surface including a hole, a suction unit that draws air through the hole to draw the recording medium in order to stick the recording medium to the recording medium supporting surface, and a re-conveying unit that re-conveys the recording medium to an upstream of the recording medium conveying unit in a conveying direction, wherein the suction unit discharges air toward the recording medium that is being conveyed by the re-conveying unit.

Recording apparatus

There is provided an ink sheet cartridge, which is provided with a cartridge body, a supply-side core tube, a takeup-side core tube, and spools detachably attached to end portions of the supply-side and takeup-side core tubes, respectively, and at least one intermediate connector that is interposed between at least one of the spools and corresponding one of the end portions of the supply-side and takeup-side core tubes. The corresponding one of the end portions at which the at least one intermediate connector is interposed id formed with a female engagement portion. The ink sheet cartridge further includes a male engagement member that is fitted into the female engagement portion from the outside so that the at least one intermediate connector is engaged with one of the supply-side and takeup-side core tubes having the female engagement portion.

Ink sheet cartridge and exchangeable ink sheet set

An ink ribbon is formed from a belt shaped sheet body, and is wound around a pair of tubes. Spools are detachably mounted at each end of the tube bodies. An ink ribbon cartridge includes side plates formed with supporting openings for supporting corresponding spools. When the ink ribbon cartridge is mounted in a printing device, the spools are freely rotatable within the supporting openings. A protrusion is formed in an upper surface of the takeup-side of the cartridge. The protrusion provides a handle and an opening is formed in the takeup-side upper surface beneath the protrusion.

A printing apparatus with an image reading device, having a platen extending along a line of printing, a guide rod extending parallel to the platen, a carriage movable on the guide rod, and a printing head which is mounted on the carriage to effect a printing operation a recording medium on the platen. The image reading device comprises: a pair of support portions which slidably engage the guide rod so as to sandwich the carriage in a direction parallel to the line of printing; a bridging portion connecting the support portions such that the support portions are immovable relative to each other; an image-reading portion supported immovably relative to the support portions and the bridging portion, and having an operative position adjacent to the surface of the recording medium, for reading images on the surface; and a control circuit fixed to the bridging portion, for controlling an image-reading operation of the image-reading portion.

A facsimile-printer combination of a dot-matrix type, including: a first and a second printing device operable in a fascimile mode and a printer mode according to first and second printing information, respectively, for selectively producing dots on a recording medium, at a first printing pitch in metric and a second printing pitch in inch unit, respectively, in a direction of width of the recording medium; a first and a second feeding device in association with the first and second printing devices, for feeding the recording medium at a first feeding pitch the metric unit and a second feeding pitch in the inch unit, respectively, in a direction of length of the recording medium; an input device for receiving the first and second printing information output devices; and a selector device for rendering the first printing and feeding devices operative when the first printing information is received by the input device, and rendering the second printing and feeding devices operative when the second printing information is received by the input device.

Facsimile-printer apparatus

A printing apparatus comprising: an elongate platen; a guide member extending parallel to the platen; a carriage slidably movable on the guide member; a printing head mounted on the carriage; an image reading device including an image-reading portion for reading images on a recording medium on the platen, the image-reading portion being movable between a reading position adjacent to the recording medium, and a retracted position spaced from the reading position in a direction away from the recording medium; and a device for engagement of the image reading device with the carriage, to permit the image reading device to move together with the carriage. The image reading device may be supported pivotally by the guide member in the form of a rod. The carriage may have a stopper abutable on the image reading device to determine the reading position of the image-reading portion. The apparatus may further comprise a member for checking optical sensitivity of the image reading device. This checking member has a reflector which is selectively placed in an operative position opposite to the image-reading portion, and an inoperative position misaligned with the image-reading position.
