A roller for use in lithography which comprises a surface layer of finely and uniformly mixed ultra-hard material and lipophilic material. The ultra-hard material is preferably tungsten carbide-cobalt and the lipophilic material is preferably aluminum bronze casting, the aluminum bronze casting being mixed with the tungsten carbide-cobalt in the ratio of 25-40% by weight.

A skid beam for use in a walking beam type heating furnace which has operating temperature exceeding 1000.degree. C. comprises a hollow skid pipe of heat resistant alloy, skid buttons provided upright on the skid pipe and arranged axially thereof at a predetermined spacing, and a refractory lining covering the outer peripheral surface of the skid pipe and each of the skid buttons over the base portion thereof toward its upper portion. Each of the skid buttons comprises a first member attached to the skid pipe and made of a heat-resistant alloy, and a second member to be brought into contact with the material to be heated. The second member is made of a composite material composed of a heat-resistant alloy and ceramic particles dispersed therein in an amount of 30 to 70% by weight based on the composite material. The skid button has a height exceeding 120 mm. The lining portion covering the skid button over the base portion thereof toward its upper portion has a thickness so as not to give a temperature difference of 40.degree. C. between the top of the skid button and the interior of the furnace.

A fiber reinforced metal alloy comprising a metal matrix and a fibrous reinforcement which is constituted by refractory fibers having a high tensile strength. The fiber reinforced metal alloy is manufactured by the use of a centrifugal casting method.

A stainless cast steel of ferrite-austenite two-phase structure having high corrosion fatigue strength and high pitting corrosion resistance containing in terms of % by weight, up to 0.1% C, up to 2.0% Si, up to 2.0% Mn, 22.0-27.0% Cr, 5.0-9.0% Ni, 1.1-2.5% Mo, 0.5-2.5% Cu, 0.5-2.0% Co and 0.5-2.0% V, the steel further containing, if desired, one or more kinds of 0.5-2.0% Nb and/or Ta and 0.01-0.5% Ti, the balance being substantially Fe and inevitable impurities.

Two-phase stainless cast steel having high corrosion fatigue strength

An alloy consisting essentially of, by weight, 0.1-0.6% C, up to 2.0% Si, 5.0-15.0% Mn, 5.0-15.0% Cr, 5.0-13.0% Ni, less than 1.0% V, and one or both of up to 1.0% Mo and up to 2.0% Nb, balance being substantially Fe and inevitable impurities. The alloy has outstanding nonmagnetic property, high hardness and good weldability, and particularly useful for electro-magnetic stirrer rolls in continuous casting machine.

Non-magnetic alloy having high hardness and good weldability

An alloy comprising, by weight, 0.1-0.6% C, up to 2% Si, 5-15% Mn, 5-15% Cr, 5-13% Ni, 1-3% V, and at least one of up to 1% Mo and up to 2% Nb, the balance being substantially Fe and inevitable impurities. The alloy has an outstanding non-magnetic property of up to about 1.004 in magnetic permeability and high hardness of above about 215 in Vickers hardness and is useful for electromagnetic stirrer rolls for continuous casting equipment.

High Cr low Ni two-phased cast stainless steel

A heat resistant alloy useful for floor rails, rollers and like structures for use in furnaces and having low amenability to the pick-up of scales formed on the surface of steel materials during heat treatment. The alloy has the composition, in proportions by weight, of 0.1-0.5% C, 1.0-1.8% Si, up to 2.0% Mn, 26-30% Cr, 34-40% Ni, 3.ltoreq.Co.ltoreq.9%, 37.ltoreq.Ni+Co.ltoreq.43%, 0.5-3.0% Mo, 0.5 to 5.0% Nb, 0.5-10% W, up to 0.04% P, up to 0.04% S, and balance Fe.

Non-pick-up and heat resistant alloy

A high corrosion resistant and high strength medium Cr and low Ni stainless cast steel which is produced from material including predetermined amounts of elements at predetermined weight percentage and remaining portion substantially of Fe. When the above material is further subjected to heat treatments under predetermined conditions, stainless steels superior in yield strength and having stable corrosion resistance against circumstances influenced by strong acids are presented.

High corrosion resistant and high strength medium Cr and low Ni

An alloyed steel having high heat and wear resistance is disclosed. This alloyed steel contain carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel, cobalt, tungsten, niobium and iron and other impurities as the remainder. A deoxidizing agent may be added.

Alloyed steel

A heat resisting alloyed steel having a highly improved compressive strength at the elevated temperature within the range of 1,250.degree. to 1,300.degree. C. contains carbon, silicon, chromium, nickel, manganese, cobalt, molybdenum, phosphorus, sulfur, niobium and iron. Tungsten may be added as desired.
