Hull shape of personal watercraft

A bottom structure of a personal watercraft enhances the running performance of a personal watercraft. A concavo-convex face (,) having very small concave or convex portions for drawing air from an outside of a watercraft is formed on a water contact face (S) in a bottom surface (,) of the personal watercraft during planing. The air is drawn by the concavo-convex face (,), thereby separating a water flow from the bottom surface (,). Consequently, frictional resistance to the water in the bottom surface (,) can be reduced.

Motorcycle has a fuel tank formed with a fueling port which is closed by a filler cap. The filler cap comprises an outer and inner cap discs which are adapted to be engaged respectively with an outer and inner cap seats so as to define a buffer chamber between the cap discs. A vent hole is formed to open the inside of the tank to the buffer chamber which is in turn connected with a canister containing activated carbon particles. The buffer chamber functions to receive liquid fuel when the motorcycle is turned over and prevent the liquid fuel from passing to the canister.

A muffler for exhaust gases is constructed with a small casing skirting a portion of an exhaust gas inlet pipe. The end of the casing nearest the exit port of the pipe is blocked and provided with a layer of sound absorbing material. The exhaust gases exiting the pipe turn within the layer and flow back up the outside of the pipe inside the casing and exit at a point near the upper end of the casing. The structure has sound arresting properties, particularly for high frequency sounds.
