An internal combustion engine includes: a combustion chamber surrounded by a cylinder bore wall, a piston crown part, and a cylinder head wall; a spark plug arranged at the cylinder head wall and having a spark generating part; and a partitioning wall part partitioning the combustion chamber into a main combustion chamber at which the piston crown part is exposed and an ignition chamber at which the spark generating part is exposed, the partitioning wall part being formed with a plurality of through holes connecting the main combustion chamber and the ignition chamber. The axes of the plurality of through holes are formed so that at predetermined regions from ignition chamber side opening parts of the plurality of through holes, the directions toward the ignition chamber side opening parts all are substantially the same.

Internal combustion engine

A fuel injection valve that can favorably reduce the film thickness of fuel ejected from an outlet of an injection hole without relying on increase of the fuel pressure, whereby atomization of fuel spray can be favorably promoted, is provided. A fuel passage () through which the fuel flows is formed in the interior of the fuel injection valve (). An injection-hole plate () as a member that separates an injection space () into which the fuel is injected, from the fuel passage (), is provided in which a plurality of injection holes () for ejecting the fuel from the fuel passage () toward the injection space () are formed. The injection-hole plate (), as viewed from the outlet side of the injection hole (), is formed with an injection-hole outlet-side groove () connected to the injection hole () in a region (inner wall surface) opposed to a main flow direction of the fuel directed toward the injection hole () along an inner wall surface () of the injection-hole plate (). The injection-hole outlet-side groove () is formed so as to extend in a direction away from the injection hole ().

Fuel injection valve

In an internal combustion engine, on a cylinder head side, a tumble flow is formed that is directed from an intake vent opened on the cylinder head to an exhaust vent opened on the cylinder head. A direct injection valve injects fuel directly into a combustion space. The direct injection valve injects the fuel toward a section where a piston top surface intersects with a cylinder inner surface, at a point closer to an intake top dead center than a middle between the intake top dead center and an intake bottom dead center, and thereafter injects the fuel into the combustion space again.

An in-cylinder injection, spark ignited internal combustion engine including a fuel injection valve spraying fuel substantially in a sector having a relatively small thickness and spreading substantially vertically to implement homogenous combustion and stratified combustion, ensures that for stratified combustion a large portion of the sprayed fuel is injected into a cavity and thus sufficiently vaporized and positioned as a combustible air fuel mixture in a vicinity of an ignition plug. A fuel injection valve is arranged at a perimeter of an upper portion of the cylinder and a piston has a top surface provided with a cavity biased in location to be farther from the fluid injection valve and having a wall opposite the fuel injection valve deviating toward the cylinder's substantial center the fuel sprayed for stratified combustion through the fuel injection valve into the cavity.

In-cylinder injection, spark ignited internal combustion engine

A direct fuel injection-type spark-ignition internal combustion engine is disclosed. The engine comprises a fuel injector for injecting fuel as a spray in nearly the shape of a fan having a relative small thickness, a spark plug and a cavity formed on the top surface of a piston. The cavity has a long and narrow groove-like shape. The spray is injected by the fuel injector such that the spray is almost parallel with the center axis of the piston, and impinges in the cavity. The spark plug is arranged in the upper portion of the cylinder to face the cavity.

Direct fuel injection-type spark-ignition internal combustion engine

A serial printer apparatus comprises a print heat for printing on a medium according to a received character signal, a carrier on which the print head is provided and which runs the print head over an unprintable region and a printable region, and a control circuit for monitoring the running speed of the carrier and controlling the speed of the carrier by accelerating or decelerating the carrier while suppressing the amount of fluctuation of the speed at least in the printable region.

Serial printer which provides acceleration control of carrier

A thermal print head comprising a sequential laminated arrangement of an insulating substrate, a heating resistance layer, an electrode layer formed in a predetermined pattern, and a protective layer. The protective layer is formed of a mixture of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 as a principal component, and SiO.sub.2. The protective layer has satisfactory heat resistance, abrasion resistance, crack resistance, moisture resistance and chemical stability.

Thermal print head

The present invention relates to an advanced silky thermoplastic polymer fiber being thick and thin along its axis and having two or more, preferably more than two axially-continuous grooves per filament with the entrance widths of 0.2 to 4.mu. and the depths of 0.1 to 1.8.mu.. The said fiber can be formed by dissolving out at least part of a easily-soluble polymer from a drawn composite fiber comprised of two differently-soluble thermoplastic polymer components, the easily-soluble one of said components having at least two locations with the areas of 0.2 to 4.mu. at the periphery of the transverse cross-section thereof and being thick and thin along its axis.
