The high-speed imaging stage of the present invention contains a holding holding such as a prismatic rotating body or an endless belt that can rotate or move at high speed and that is loaded with a plurality of recording materials such as stimulable phosphor sheets and X-ray film. The holding device transfers the recording materials successively by continuously performing intermittent fast moving operations in such a way that a recording material can rest temporarily in the imaging position beneath an imaging window while holding the recording materials in position, whereby the radiation image of a subject can be recorded on the recording materials. Therefore, this high-speed imaging stage has a simple construction and is capable of performing high-speed and continuous imaging on the recording materials without causing damage to them even if they are not placed within protective cases.

High-speed imaging stage

A sheet feed mechanism in a light scanning apparatus includes two pairs of rollers for gripping and feeding a sheet-like medium such as a stimulable phosphor sheet or a photographic film in a subscanning direction. The two pairs of rollers are spaced a distance smaller than the length of the sheet-like medium in the subscanning direction. While the sheet-like medium is being fed by the sheet feed mechanism in the subscanning direction, the sheet-like medium is scanned by a light beam deflected in a main scanning direction substantially normal to the subscanning direction, for thereby two-dimensionally scanning the sheet-like medium.

Sheet feed mechanism and method of controlling the same in light beam

An apparatus for reading out a radiation image stored on a stimulable phosphor sheet comprises a read-out section, an erasing section, and a section for releasably holding a cassette which is capable of housing the stimulable phosphor sheet and which has one openable end, and provided with a roller for taking the stimulable phosphor sheet out of the cassette and inserting it thereinto. The apparatus also comprises a sheet conveyance system for receiving the stimulable phosphor sheet taken out of the cassette by the roller, conveying the stimulable phosphor sheet to read-out section and the erasing section, and then transferring the stimulable phosphor sheet to the roller to have the stimulable phosphor sheet housed in the cassette at the cassette holding section. The sheet conveyance distance from the leading end of the cassette, which is held at the cassette holding section, as viewed in a cassette feeding direction to a scanning position of stimulating rays at the read-out section is shorter tha the length of the stimulable phosphor sheet in the conveyance direction.
