A solenoid device is configured to drive by electromagnetic force a valve unit in an electromagnetic valve provided to a fuel injection system. The solenoid device includes: a cylindrical core; a coil wound around the core; a casing housing the core and the coil and that covers at least one end of the core on one side in an axial direction; a terminal fixing member disposed between the core and the casing in the axial direction to fix a terminal connected to the coil; and a cylindrical member disposed on an inner circumference of the core in a manner of passing through the core and the casing in the axial direction. The cylindrical member has a protrusion that radially protrudes in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction and is held between the casing and the terminal fixing member from both sides in the axial direction.

This fuel injector comprises: a main body portion including an inflow port into which fuel supplied from a fuel supply source flows, a flow passage through which the fuel that has flowed in from the inflow port flows, and a discharge port which is connected to the flow passage and which discharges the fuel; a valve unit at least a portion of which is formed using a magnetic body, which is disposed so as to be capable of moving in a straight-line direction between a position closing the discharge port and a position opening the discharge port, which is urged in the direction opening the discharge port by means of the pressure of the fuel flowing in from the inflow port, and to which an elastic force is imparted by an elastic member in the direction closing the discharge port; a solenoid device which includes a coil, which generates an electromagnetic force by causing a drive current to flow through the coil, and which drives the valve unit in the direction opening the discharge port, by means of the electromagnetic force; and a control portion which variably sets the value of a prescribed time period that includes a drive current supply start time point, of the drive current flowing through the coil, in accordance with a supply pressure of the fuel supplied to the inflow port.

Fuel injector, and method for driving fuel injector

The purpose of the present invention is to increase the pressure of fuel while reducing an increase in the maximum lift amount of a cam and deterioration of a fuel injection ability. This cam for use in a fuel injection pump that increases the pressure of fuel supplied into a fuel supply chamber by an axial movement of a plunger. The cam includes a first cam surface that causes an increase rate of an axial speed of the plunger when the cam rotates at a constant speed, in a pre-stroke period until the plunger increases the pressure of the fuel in the fuel supply chamber, to be a first increase rate, and a second cam surface that causes the increase rate of the axial speed of the plunger when the cam rotates at the constant speed, in a pressure increasing period that is a period from a start of increasing the pressure of the fuel in the fuel supply chamber by the plunger, to be a second increase rate, wherein the first increase rate is set higher than the second increase rate.

A solenoid type electromagnetic valve is configured such that an attraction force arises between an attracting side face of a solenoid core power supply body and an attracted side face of an armature which is facing the attracting side face when a current is conducted through a solenoidal coil, while the attraction force is released between the attracting side face and the attracted side face when the current conducted through the solenoidal coil is cut off, wherein at least one plate member of nonmagnetic material comprising nonmagnetic stainless steel, aluminum alloy or ceramic material is fitted to the attracting side face of the solenoid core power supply body, and fluid insulation resin is filled therein, thereby the fluid insulation resin is solidified and secures the plate member thereto.

Solenoid type electromagnetic valve device

A device for controlling a variation in pressure upstream of a common rail, the device being an extremely simple and small-sized compact device which is used in a pressure accumulating common rail type fuel injection apparatus. The device for controlling a variation in pressure upstream of a common rail can supply high-pressure fuel to the common rail in a stable pressure state by preventing pulsation of a high-pressure pump from occurring in each cylinder of the pump and also preventing generation of a surge pressure caused by opening and closing of a check valve. The device is provided with a secondary common rail which is connected to the fuel outlets of the check valves each provided to each of the cylinders of the high-pressure pump and which has a volume equal to or less than the volume of the common rail, and the device is also provided with injection pipes which connect between the common rail and the fuel outlets of the secondary common rail. The number of the injection pipes is set to be less than the number of the check valves each provided to each of the cylinders of the high-pressure pump.

A fuel injection valve of the accumulator injection system, the fuel injection valve including: a nozzle, a nozzle needle, and a control rod; wherein, the control rod is provided with a groove whereby the groove communicates the high pressure fuel passage prior to a fuel injection shot; the groove is disconnected to the high pressure fuel passage and the fuel is injected into an engine combustion chamber during the fuel injection shot; the groove communicates with the high pressure fuel passage at the end of the injection shot.

A poppet valve device includes a plurality of axial passages of substantially the same diameter and length communicating with a high-pressure room formed inside a valve seat member between a poppet valve body and the valve seat member. The passages are located adjacent to each other and an annular gap formed between the periphery of the poppet valve body and an inner perimeter of a projecting part on which a valve seat face of the valve seat member is formed, is narrow to restrict liquid flow through the annular gap. An electronic controlled fuel injection apparatus equipped with the poppet valve device is composed such that a lower end part of the poppet valve body and a bottom of a valve device accommodating part of the fuel injection apparatus are formed to restrict flow of fuel to prevent the occurrence of bouncing.

A poppet valve device is composed such that a plurality of axial passages of substantially the same diameter and length communicating to a high-pressure space formed inside the valve seat member between the poppet valve body and the valve seat member are provided in the valve seat member. The passages are located adjacent to each other, or located axially symmetrically. An annular gap formed between the periphery of the poppet valve body and the inner perimeter of a projecting part on which the valve seat face of the valve seat member is formed is narrow to restrict liquid flow through the annular gap. An electronic controlled fuel injection apparatus equipped with the poppet valve device is composed such that a lower end part of the poppet valve body and the bottom of a valve device accommodating part of the fuel injection apparatus are formed to restrict the flow of fuel from between the lower end of the poppet valve body and the bottom of the valve device accommodation part to the central hollow of the poppet valve body, whereby the occurrence of bouncing is prevented.

A fuel injection apparatus having a plurality of high pressure fuel injection pumps for supplying fuel to a common rail, of which amounts of fuel discharge can be controlled by a fuel supply amount adjusting device of simple and reliable construction. The fuel supply amount adjusting device is provided to fuel feed passages for feeding fuel to the plunger rooms. The adjusting device includes a spool valve device for varying opening area of each of passages for introducing fuel into each of the plunger rooms by sliding a spool fitted slidably in a spool valve case, a spool drive device for sliding the spool, and a controller for controlling the spool drive device so that the spool is slid to a position at which the opening area coincide with area required depending on engine operating conditions.

A compact electromagnetic valve device for fuel injection apparatus for engines is provided with which occurrence of cavitation erosion due to rapid change in pressure in a small gap is prevented without increasing in size. Through holes are drilled in a platy armature connected to a poppet valve for opening and closing a fuel passage connecting a fuel feed/spill passage to a plunger room of a fuel injection apparatus, and a thin plate valve or check valve is provided to the armature to allow the holes to be opened or closed in accordance with upward or down ward movement of the armature connected with the popped valve.

An electromagnetic controlled fuel injection apparatus is provided in which a housing assembly with two sets each including a solenoid device and an open/close valve device being fixed directly to a housing is fixed to a plunger unit to decrease the length of the fuel passages between the open/close valve devices and a plunger room in order to increase the speed of injection response in two-stage fuel injection for reducing NOx emission while maintaining engine performance and to facilitate mounting of the apparatus on constricted space of an engine.
