In a solar cell in a sheet form, a first cured resin layer, a substrate containing a resin, a photoelectric conversion layer, and a second cured resin layer are stacked in this order. The linear expansion coefficient of the first cured resin layer is not less than that of the second cured resin layer, and the linear expansion coefficient of the second cured resin layer is larger than that of the substrate. When the cure degree of a first surface of the first cured resin layer facing the substrate is C% and the cure degree of a second surface of the first cured resin layer is C%, Cis larger than Cand (C&#x2212;C) is 2 to 15%. A surface on the first cured resin layer of the solar cell is warped convexly and a surface on the second cured resin layer is warped concavely.

Solar cell and producing method thereof

The present invention provides a solar cell whose external color can be adjusted so that redness is suppressed. In the case where a photoelectric conversion layer contains amorphous silicon, an optical absorption layer is provided between the photoelectric conversion layer and a reflecting electrode layer. The optical absorption layer has a light absorbing property mainly in a long wavelength range, while the photoelectric conversion layer (amorphous silicon) has a selective light absorbing property mainly in a short/medium wavelength range. Incident light (solar light) passed through the photoelectric conversion layer further passes through the optical absorption layer and, after that, is reflected by the reflecting electrode layer. That is, remaining light of the incident light absorbed by the optical absorption layer and the photoelectric conversion layer is reflected by the reflecting electrode layer. Consequently, redness of the reflection light can be suppressed more than in the case where the optical absorption layer is not provided between the photoelectric conversion layer and the reflecting electrode layer.

Solar cell and method of adjusting color of the same

The present invention provides a substrate holding method capable of contributing to improvement in performance of an electronic part. A plastic film is adhered to a holding frame by using an adhesive tape having a proper gas releasing characteristic such that total quantity of gas detected when analysis using gas chromatograph mass spectrometry (dynamic HS-GC-MS) is conducted under test conditions of 180&#xb0; C. and 10 minutes is 100.5 &#x3bc;g/g or less in n-tetradecane. In the case where the plastic film held by the holding frame is subjected to a process of manufacturing an electronic part (for example, a solar battery), even when a process accompanying generation of heat during the manufacturing process (for example, a film forming process such as plasma CVD) is performed on the plastic film, a release amount of unnecessary gas released from the adhesive tape due to the influence of the heat is suppressed, so that deterioration in the performance of the electronic part caused by the unnecessary gas is suppressed.

Method of manufacturing electronic part

A solar cell comprises a substrate, and a metal electrode layer, a p-i-n junction, and a transparent electrode layer which are successively laminated on the substrate. The p-i-n junction comprises an n layer, an i layer, and a p layer which are laminated in this order. The i layer is made of an amorphous iron silicide film containing hydrogen in accordance with the present invention, and is formed on the n layer by supplying an iron vapor into a plasma of a material gas in which a silane type gas and a hydrogen gas are mixed. In the i layer, dangling bonds of silicon atoms and/or iron atoms are terminated with hydrogen, whereby a number of trap levels which may occur in the amorphous iron silicide film are eliminated.

Method of making iron silicide and method of making photoelectric transducer

A solar batterycomprises a metal electrode layer, a pin junction, and a transparent electrode layerwhich are successively laminated on a substratesuch as a silicon substrate. The pin junctioncomprises an n-layer, an i-layer, and a p-layerwhich are laminated in succession. The i-layeris formed by amorphous iron silicide (FeSi:H) containing hydrogen atoms. In the i-layer, at least a part of the hydrogen atoms contained therein terminate dangling bonds of silicon atoms and/or iron atoms, so that a number of trap levels which may occur in an amorphous iron silicide film can be eliminated, whereby the i-layerexhibits a characteristic as an intrinsic semiconductor layer.

Photoelectric transducer, photoelectric transducer apparatus, and iron silicide film

In a photovoltaic element according to the present invention, a first transparent conductive film, a second transparent conductive film, a p-type semiconductor film, an intrinsic semiconductor layer, a n-type semiconductor layer and a backside electrode are stacked in turn on a transparent substrate. Then, an intermediate layer is provided between the second transparent conductive film and the p-type semiconductor layer so as to cover the first transparent conductive film and the second transparent conductive film.

Method for manufacturing a photovoltaic element

A frame-shaped holding frame which has a small thermal expansion coefficient is used. When a complex member in which a metal material is impregnated in a ceramic material, which has a smaller thermal expansion coefficient than 10 ppm/&deg; C., is used, a warp and a wrinkle are greatly decreased. In particular, in the case of a material with a thermal expansion coefficient of 6.5 ppm/&deg; C. or smaller, the warp and the wrinkle are not caused. When the flexible substrate is adhered to the holding frame by an adhesive, an adhesion area may be obtained so that a sufficient strength is kept. Also, since the flexible substrate is adhered onto the upper surface of the holding frame, the thickness of the holding frame is independent on fixing of the substrate. The thickness may be set so that a mechanical strength is kept and the substrate is smoothly transferred.

Photovoltaic element

In a solar cell including a photoelectric conversion layer 14 disposed on a flexible substrate 11 and constituted by a laminated layer of non-single crystalline silicon thin films, the flexible substrate 11 has a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of is 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm. By this, the coefficient of linear thermal expansion of the flexible substrate 11 and that of the photoelectric conversion layer 14 become close to each other, so that warp and deformation during manufacturing steps and after the steps are decreased. Further, since stress applied to the photoelectric conversion layer 14 is also lessened, the photoelectric conversion efficiency can be increased.

Solar cell and method of manufacturing the same

An aluminum film is formed as a photoreflective electrode in the side opposite to the light incident side of a solar cell by sputtering at a substrate temperature of 50.degree. to 200.degree. C. using a target, aluminum containing silicon as an impurity element at 0.1 to 6.0 weight %. An aluminum film or a silver film into which an impurity element is not added is formed on the above aluminum film, to obtain a texture structure having convex and concave shapes. When an organic resin film substrate is used, components (released as a gas by heating and a vacuum atmosphere) such as water within the organic resin film is removed after the aluminum film is formed.

Solar cell and method for producing electrode for solar cell

An aluminum film is formed as a photoreflective electrode at the side opposite to the light incident side of a solar cell by sputtering at a substrate temperature of 50.degree. to 200.degree. C. using a target of aluminum containing silicon as an impurity element at 0.1 to 6.0 weight %. An aluminum film or a silver film in which an impurity element is not added is formed on the above aluminum film, to obtain a texture structure having convex and concave shapes. When an organic resin film substrate is used, components (released as a gas by heating in a vacuum atmosphere) such as water within the organic resin film are removed after the aluminum film is formed.

Solar cell

A treatment, typically plasma treatment apparatus comprises a plasma creating chamber adapted to create a plasma therein, a treating chamber in communication with the plasma creating chamber through an electrode for drawing electron beams from the plasma, an input conduit coupled to the treating chamber for introducing a reaction gas therein, and directive means associated with the input conduit for imparting directivity to the reaction gas. With the apparatus, plasma treatment, typically plasma CVD or plasma etching is carried out on an article in the chamber by forming a high density region of the reaction gas substantially perpendicular to the electron beams in the chamber.
