A vehicle wheel includes a disk and a rim having a well portion and fixed to the disk for supporting a tire, and an additional air chamber member secured to an outer circumferential surface of the well portion in a tire air chamber defined between the rim and the tire. The additional air chamber member includes an additional air chamber and a communication pipe with a communication through hole therein for communication between the additional air chamber and the tire air chamber, and the communication pipe protrudes from the peak in a direction substantially parallel to an axial direction of the wheel. The additional air chamber has a peak in a radial direction of the vehicle wheel. A radius of rotation of the wheel at the tip of the communication through hole is &#x2267; a radius of rotation of the wheel at the peak of the additional air chamber.

Vehicle wheel

A vehicle wheel which includes an additional air chamber member forming an additional air chamber in a tire air chamber. The additional air chamber member is fixed on an outer circumferential surface of a well portion of a rim. The additional air chamber member is provided with a communication hole communicating between the additional air chamber and the tire air chamber. The communication hole is disposed at a position shifted from a discharge port of an air valve for supplying air in the tire air chamber in a wheel circumferential direction and opened to the tire air chamber.

A vehicle wheel includes: a disk and a rim having a well portion and fixed to the disk for supporting a tire for the vehicle; and an additional air chamber member secured to an outer circumferential surface of the well portion in a tire air chamber defined between the rim and the tire. The additional air chamber includes a communication pipe with a communication through hole therein for communication between the additional air chamber and the tire air chamber. The additional air chamber has a peak in a radial direction of the vehicle wheel. A radius Dof rotation of the vehicle wheel at the tip of the communication through hole is equal to or greater than a radius Dof rotation of the vehicle at the peak of the additional air chamber.

A wheel body includes a wheel body including a disk and a rim fixed to an outer circumference of the disk for supporting a tire for the vehicle; an air pressure sensor unit for detecting a pressure in an air chamber in the tire with transmitter; a sub air chamber member on the rim for reducing a magnitude of a resonance sound generated by an air column defined by the air chamber defined by the rim and the tire. The air pressure sensor unit and the sub air chamber member are disposed in a circumferential direction of the wheel so as to cancel out one unbalance mass distribution of the vehicle wheel in the circumferential direction of the wheel caused by disposing the air pressure sensor by another unbalance mass distribution of the wheel in the circumferential direction caused by disposing sub air chamber member.

A vehicle wheel in which an additional air chamber member in a tire air chamber is fixed on an outer circumferential surface of a well portion, includes: a first vertical wall surface rising outward in a radial direction from the outer circumferential surface of the well portion and extending in a circumferential direction of the outer circumferential surface; and a second vertical wall surface formed in the well portion facing the first vertical wall surface. The additional air chamber member has an additional air chamber and a communication hole formed therein. The communication hole provides communication between the additional air chamber and the tire air chamber. The additional air chamber member is fitted between the first and second vertical wall surfaces. Side end portions of the additional air chamber member in a width direction of the vehicle wheel are secured between the first and second vertical wall surfaces.

A sensor unit includes a sensor body consisting of a detecting part which detects an inside pressure of a tire, and a transmitting part which transmits a pressure signal detected by the detecting part, and a base member which holds the sensor body. The base member is fixed to a wheel through a heat curable adhesive layer.

A tire/wheel assembly assembling method, including a balance weight determination step, in which the weight and attachment position of a balance weight to be attached to a wheel are determined on the assumption that the minimum point of the RRO of the wheel will be phase matched with the maximum point of the RFV of a tire and based on the weight and position of the heavy point of the static unbalance of the wheel and the weight and position of the light point of the static unbalance of the tire, a balance weight attachment step, in which the balance weight is attached to the wheel based on the determined weight and attachment position, and an assembling step, in which the wheel and the tire are assembled together upon phase matching the minimum point of the RRO of the wheel with the maximum point of the RFV of the tire.

For balancing a wheel, which is formed of a rolled plate having varying thickness, the wheel is provided with a disk which is formed by a rolled plate having varying thickness in the rolling direction, wherein wheel balance is adjusted by radially adjusting the angle between the location of the thick part of the disk and the location of the air valve insertion hole, and the location of the air valve insertion hole certainly accords with the heaviest point by conforming the location of the air valve insertion hole with the location of the thick part of the disk.

Balance adjusted wheel

The object of the invention is to provide a balance adjusted wheel and its manufacturing method utilizing a cutting surface, for which cutting is performed by setting a point as a rotation center offset by a given distance from the central axis of a wheel central portion. The invention will improve the work efficiency for wheel balance adjustment and manufacturing of tire/wheel assembly.
