Technique capable of achieving shortening of settling time, which is caused by ringing, etc. of a blanking control signal is provided. A measuring/inspecting apparatus is configured to have a main blanking unit and a correction blanking control unit as a high-speed switching control unit of an electron beam. During the period of switching of a main blanking control signal from ON to OFF, a correction blanking control signal is applied in real time in synchronization with the switching. The ringing caused by the main blanking are corrected so as to be cancelled out by that, the settling time is shortened as a result.

Measuring/inspecting apparatus and measuring/inspecting method enabling blanking control of electron beam

A circuit configuration for realizing high impedance in an address drive circuit is provided in order to reduce the number of recovery switches without reducing power recovery efficiency. A mechanism for realizing the high impedance in an address drive circuit during a sustain period of a plasma display panel is provided. By achieving the high impedance, capacitance coupling between an X electrode and an address electrode and between a Y electrode and an address electrode can be cancelled, and a power recovery circuit can be simplified without reducing the power recovery efficiency.

Address drive circuit and plasma display apparatus

A disclosed plasma display includes a plasma display panel including cells and display electrodes including a group of X electrodes and a group of Y electrodes; an X electrode driving circuit configured to apply a sustaining pulse to the group of X electrodes; and a Y electrode driving circuit configured to apply a sustaining pulse to the group of Y electrodes. One of the X electrode driving circuit and the Y electrode driving circuit applies a low-voltage sustaining pulse that can cause the sustaining discharge by itself to a corresponding one of the group of X electrodes and the group of Y electrodes. The other one of the X electrode driving circuit and the Y electrode driving circuit applies a high-voltage sustaining pulse that can cause the sustaining discharge by itself to the other one of the group of X electrodes and the group of Y electrodes.
