A fuel cell system includes an IG switch disposed between a 14V battery and a controller. The fuel cell system also includes a start switch disposed independently of the IG switch. Upon detection of the ON state of the start switch, the controller outputs an FC start instruction to an FC auxiliary device. Moreover, an FC inverter switch is disposed between the 14V battery and the FC auxiliary device. Through the function of the controller, power supply from the 14V battery to the FC auxiliary device is suspended for a period from when a wait time, which is predeterminedly set from the moment when the IG switch is turned ON, has elapsed to the moment when the start switch is turned ON, during a wait period between the moment when the IG switch is turned ON and the moment when the start switch is turned ON.

Fuel cell system with controlled standby power

An object of the present invention is to provide a fuel cell system and a mobile body capable of restraining freeze in an air cleaner. The fuel cell system includes an air cleaner for cleaning the air to be supplied to a fuel cell and a heater for heating the air cleaner. The air cleaner can be alternatively heated by supplying a refrigerant in a refrigerant piping system to the air cleaner instead of using the heater.

It is prevented that when a system is left unused, carried carbon ion a cathode-side catalyst to lower a power generation performance. The molar quantities of hydrogen and oxygen in a fuel gas supply/discharge system and an oxidizing gas supply/discharge system with respect to a fuel cell are calculated, and control is performed so that the molar ratio of hydrogen and oxygen which can chemically be reacted in a fuel gas and an oxidizing gas during the stop of the fuel cell is 2 or more. Hydrogen is preferably supplied in accordance with the magnitude of a cell voltage in the fuel cell so as to maintain the molar ratio. Moreover, a gas passage in the oxidizing gas supply/discharge system is preferably provided with an inlet valve and an outlet valve for sealing the oxidizing gas in the gas passage.

Fuel cell system and control method thereof

A fuel cell system has shutoff valves installed between an air flow channel in a fuel cell and the atmosphere. The shutoff valves have valve seats and also have valve discs for sealing in air by coming into contact with the valve seats. The valve discs are adapted to be sucked toward the valve seats by negative pressure in the air flow channel in the fuel cell. The fuel cell system further has an atmosphere release valve installed between the air flow channel in the fuel cell and the shutoff valve and releasing negative pressure in the air flow channel in the fuel cell to the atmosphere. When the fuel cell is started, the shutoff valves are opened after the negative pressure in the air flow channel of the fuel cell is released. Consequently, sealing ability of the shutoff valves when the fuel cell is stopped is improved, and easiness of opening of the shutoff valves when the fuel cell is started is also improved.

Also, a gas discharge part and a liquid discharge part are placed downstream from a fluid outlet of the ion exchange resin member, and a liquid-movement-preventing means for preventing a liquid in the fluid discharged from the fluid outlet from moving toward the gas discharge part is placed between the ion exchange resin memberand at least either the gas discharge part or the liquid discharge part.
