A catalyst composition for production of a polyurethane resin, which comprises a metal complex catalyst represented by the following formula (1):M(acac)&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)wherein M represents Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Ti, Hf, Al or Th, acac represents acetylacetonate, and n is an integer of from 1 to 4, and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a bicyclic tertiary amine compound represented by the following formula (2):wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 3, a compound having a cumulative double bond, and a quaternary ammonium salt compound.

Catalyst composition for production of a polyurethane resin, and method for producing a polyurethane resin

A process for producing a flexible or rigid polyurethane foam is provided in which a polyol and a polyisocyante are reacted in the presence of an amine catalyst, a blowing agent, and a foam stabilizer, the amine catalyst comprising at least one amine compound represented by General Formula (1) below: ##STR1## where R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 are respectively an alkyl group of 1 to 6 carbons independently; n is an integer of 0 or 1; and A is an alkyl group of 11 to 14 carbons when n is 0, or an alkylene group of 10 to 15 carbons when n is 1. The amine catalyst has low odor and low volatility, and gives high curing rate, and excellent moldability with a formulation of reduced fluorocarbon and increased water as the blowing agent.

Process for producing polyurethane foam with high curing rate

Process for producing a flexible polyurethane foam through reaction of a polyol with a polyisocyanate in the presence of an amine catalyst, a blowing agent, and a foam stabilizer, the amine catalyst comprising at least one of the imidazoles represented by the general formula below: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbons, dimethylaminopropyl, benzyl, vinyl, or hydroxyalkyl of 1 to 3 carbons; R.sup.2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbons, allyl, benzyl, or phenyl; and R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are respectively hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbons, or hydroxymethyl.

Process for producing flexible polyurethane foam having high air flow

A process for producing a high resilience polyurethane foam by reacting a polyol with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst, a blowing agent, and a foam stabilizer; said polyisocyanate containing at least diphenylmethane diisocyanate and/or a mixture of diphenylmethane diisocyanate with a derivative thereof, the blowing agent being water, or water and a halogenated hydrocarbon in amounts of not less than 2 parts by weight of water and not more than 20 parts by weight of the halogenated hydrocarbon based on 100 parts by weight of the polyol, and the catalyst being at least one selected from the compounds represented by the formula (I) below: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is alkyl having 1 to 4 carbons, dimethylaminopropyl, benzyl, vinyl, or hydroxyalkyl having 1 to 3 carbons; R.sup.2 is hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbons, alkyl, benzyl or phenyl; and R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are independently hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbons, or hydroxymethyl.

Process for producing high resilience polyurethane foam

A process for producing a rigid polyurethane foam by use of a decreased amount of a CFC blowing agent and an increased amount of water used as a blowing agent, maintaining a high degree of heat insulation and improving the deterioration in friability of the product. The catalyst is one of the imidazoles represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is alkyl having 1 to 4 carbons, benzyl, dimethylaminopropyl, or hydroxyalkyl having 1 to 3 carbons; R.sup.2 is hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbons, allyl, or benzyl; and R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are independently hydrogen, methyl, or hydroxymethyl.
