Drying unit and ejection device

A light irradiation device includes a light emitting unit, a cooling unit, a supply unit, and a driving unit. The light emitting unit emits light while generating heat. The cooling unit includes a channel through which a coolant flows, a first surface on which the light emitting unit is mounted, and a second surface that faces a direction opposite to the first surface. The supply unit is disposed facing the second surface in one direction that the second surface faces and supplies the coolant to the cooling unit. The driving unit is disposed facing the second surface in the one direction and includes a driving board that drives the light emitting unit.

A droplet ejection device includes: a droplet ejection head that ejects a droplet to a recording medium; an irradiating portion that evaporates moisture of the droplet landed on the recording medium by irradiating the recording medium with infrared laser beam; and a light shielding member that includes an upper light shielding member provided on a perimeter of the irradiating portion and a lower light shielding member provided on a position facing the irradiating portion and the upper light shielding portion while placing the recording medium therebetween, in which the upper light shielding portion and the lower light shielding portion are in contact with each other at an outside of the recording medium in the width direction so that the light shielding member shields the infrared laser beam at least in the width direction of the recording medium.

Droplet ejection device

A droplets drying device includes: a drying mechanism having a plurality of light sources that are arranged in a width direction of a recording medium, and dry droplets ejected onto the recording medium by emitting light toward the droplets; a moving mechanism that moves the drying mechanism in the width direction; a light shield member that is opposed to at least part of the drying mechanism being moved by the moving mechanism, and interrupts light emitted from the light sources disposed in the part, opposed to the light shield member, of the drying mechanism; and a measuring member that is disposed in a light shield region where the light shield member interrupts incoming light, and receives light emitted from each of the light sources and measures a light quantity of the light source as the measuring member is moved relative to the drying mechanism in the width direction.

Droplets drying device and image forming apparatus

An irradiation device includes: an irradiation unit that is disposed downstream of an ejection unit that ejects droplets, in a movement direction of a medium that is moved relative to the ejection unit so as to form a gap between the irradiation unit and the medium, and that irradiates, with light, droplets that have been ejected from the ejection unit and landed on the medium; and a transparent member that is shaped like a belt, transmits light, and is moved through the gap relative to the irradiation unit.

There is provided a drying device including a plurality of surface-emitting laser elements each having a plurality of laser elements and arranged along a feeding direction of a recording medium. First power supplying pads are respectively provided at both ends of an electrode on a laser illumination surface of each surface-emitting laser element in a width direction of the recording medium and a second power supplying pad is provided at one end of the electrode on a backside of each surface-emitting laser element in the feeding direction. The respective first power supplying pads of the surface-emitting laser element arranged at an upstream-side in the feeding direction and the second power supplying pad of the surface-emitting laser element arranged at a downstream-side in the feeding direction are connected to each other by wires.
