The technology disclosed in the present specification is embodied as a support device for supporting maintenance on an apparatus including an expendable component. The support device includes at least one computer. The at least one computer executes: a process of acquiring an index indicative of a consumption level of the expendable component; a process of, at a time point when the index indicative the consumption level reaches a predetermined threshold, specifying a necessary period of time required for replacement of the expendable component at the time point; and a process of restricting an operation of the apparatus when a remaining period of time of the expendable component, the remaining period of time being associated with the threshold, is shorter than the necessary period of time required for the replacement.

Support device

An automatic transmission in which first to third clutches which can couple an input shaft to a first element of a first multiple planetary gear set and second and fourth elements of the second multiple planetary gear set, respectively, are arranged on a front side of the first multiple planetary gear set. Thus, it is possible to prevent a situation in which disengaging of the third clutch in the first speed causes the fourth element of the first multiple planetary gear set to rotate in reverse and generate a large relative rotation with the first element.

Automatic transmission

An automatic transmission is provided having appropriately spaced gear ratios for eight forward speeds to be capable of obtaining a shift feeling in all of the eight speeds, and is reduced in size and weight. Rotation of an input shaft is transmitted to an output shaft at a speed selected from a plurality of shift speeds by first and second clutches selectively transmitting the rotation of the input shaft to first and second compound planetary gears, and by first to fourth brakes selectively fixing each element of the first and second compound planetary gears, the first compound planetary gear includes first and second sun gears, a common carrier rotatably supporting a long pinion and a pinion, and a common ring gear that meshes with the first sun gear through the long pinion or the pinion and also meshes with the second sun gear through the long pinion and the pinion.

In single pinion planetary gear mechanisms, a second sun gear is linked to an input shaft in a power-transmissible manner, a first sun gear is linked to a third control brake, and a first carrier and a second ring gear which are linked to each other are linked to a first control brake. In single pinion planetary gear mechanisms, a third sun gear and a fourth sun gear which are linked to each other are linked to the input shaft disengageably by a first control clutch, and a third ring gear and a fourth ring gear are linked to a second control brake and a fourth control brake, respectively. Furthermore, in the single pinion planetary gear mechanisms, a third carrier is linked to the input shaft disengageably by a second control clutch and a fourth carrier is linked to an output shaft.

To provide an automatic transmission apparatus for forward 8-speed, which keeps a transmission gear ratio step in good balance. The apparatus includes: a first planetary gear device PGhaving a ring gear Rconnected to an input shaft; a second planetary gear device PGhaving a carrier Cconnected to a carrier Cof the first planetary gear device, and a sun gear Sconnected to R; a third planetary gear device PGhaving a ring gear Rconnected to C; a fourth planetary gear device PGhaving a sun gear Sconnected to a sun gear Sof the third planetary gear device; a first clutch C-that selectively connects Sto the input shaft; a second clutch C-that selectively connects Cto the input shaft; a first brake B-that selectively regulates the rotation of R; a second brake B-that selectively regulates the rotation of R; a third brake B-that selectively regulates the rotation of S; and a fourth brake B-that selectively regulates the rotation of R. The apparatus further includes a third clutch C-that connects Rand Sto the input shaft, or connects Rto C. PGto PGare each provided as a single pinion type.

A hydraulic power transmission is provided with a frictional engagement element as a lock-up clutch between a hydraulic power transmission chamber, housing a pump impeller and a turbine runner, and a servo oil chamber of the lock-up clutch. A lock-up oil passage that supplies lock-up hydraulic pressure to the servo oil chamber is connected to a hydraulic pressure supply circuit that is used in common with a circulation oil passage that supplies hydraulic pressure for circulation to the hydraulic power transmission chamber. An orifice is disposed in the circulation oil passage. It is thus possible to perform lock-up with different supply pressures. A common oil supply for the lock-up oil passage and the circulation oil passage is provided, for example, by disposing a converting circuit that adapts an oil passage connection to hydraulic transmissions with different types of lock-up clutches.

Second and third clutches are axially aligned so that the back side of the second clutch and the front side of the third clutch oppose each other, and a first clutch is positioned radially inward of the second and third clutches. Further, a clutch drum is extended so as to be used in common by the second and third clutches, the second clutch is engaged and disengaged from the axial front side by a second piston of a second oil pressure actuator, and the third clutch is engaged and disengaged from the axial rear side by a third piston of a third oil pressure actuator. The first through third clutches are positioned in a compact manner and can be independently operated.
