A rotating electric machine is provided with a field magnet having a magnet unit including a plurality of magnetic poles having alternating polarities in a circumferential direction and a magnet supporting section having a cylindrical shape to which the magnet unit is fixed, and an armature having a multi-phase armature winding, disposed facing the magnet unit, either one of the field magnet or the armature being configured as a rotor. The magnet unit is configured annularly along the circumferential direction. The magnet unit is fixed to a fixed surface which is either an outer peripheral surface or an inner peripheral surface of the magnet supporting section via a foamable resin, and a thickness dimension of the foamable resin in a radial direction is set to be differentiated depending on a distance from the fixed surface of the magnet supporting section to an anti-armature side circumferential surface of the magnet.

Rotating electric machine and manufacturing method thereof

In a rotating electrical machine, a holder member is disposed to be radially closer to an armature coil than to a magnetic field generator. The holder member is configured to hold the armature coil. The holder member has a first portion that faces a first end portion of the armature coil, and a second portion that faces a second end portion of the armature coil. The first portion of the holder member is thermally coupled to the first end portion of the armature coil. The second portion of the holder member is thermally coupled to the second end portion of the armature coil.

Rotating electrical machine

An armature which radially faces a magnetic field-producing unit equipped with a magnet unit having a plurality of magnetic poles includes a housing, an armature core, a multi-phase armature winding, and bus bars. The housing includes a cylinder and a disc-shaped end plate placed in contact with one of axially opposed ends of the cylinder. The armature core is disposed on a portion of the cylinder which radially faces the magnet unit. The armature winding is disposed on a portion of the armature core which radially faces the magnet unit. The bus bars electrically connect phase windings of the armature winding together. The armature also includes a bus bar module which is of a circular or C-shape extending along the circumference of the armature core. The bus bar module is secured to the cylinder, the end plate, or one of axially opposed ends of the armature core.

Armature

The rotating electric machine includes a stator having a stator winding and a rotor facing the stator in a radial direction. The rotor includes a carrier having a disk-shaped end plate section fixed to a rotating shaft and arranged coaxially with the rotating shaft, and an annular magnet unit arranged coaxially with the rotating shaft. The magnet has a cylindrical magnet holder whose one end in an axial direction is fixed to the end plate section, and a magnet fixed to a peripheral surface on a stator side in the radial direction in the magnet holder and having an alternating polarity in a circumferential direction. The magnet holder is made of a non-magnetic material. In the magnet, an orientation of an axis of easy magnetization on a q-axis is deviated from an orientation parallel to the q-axis.

Rotating electric machine

A rotary electric machine includes a rotating shaftrotatably supported by a housing, a stator including armature windings, a rotor including field cores and field windings, slip rings electrically connected to the field windings, brushes contacted and electrically connected to the slip rings, and a brush holder including the brushes and terminals. The rotor is provided with one or more fans. The terminals include exposed portions exposed at least partially from the brush holder, and the exposed portion are disposed on a ventilation path of a cooling airflow W generated by rotation of the fans. Accordingly, since the exposed portion are disposed on the ventilation path of the cooling airflow, heat caused by an energization can be efficiently dissipated, and heat generated in the brushes due to the interfacial friction is dissipated from the exposed portions.

Rotary electric machine

A rotor for a rotary electric machine includes a pair of Lundell-type cores, a plurality of magnets, and a magnet retainer. The pair of Lundell-type cores includes a plurality of claw poles with flange portions projecting to a circumferential direction of the rotor from an end portion on an outer diameter side of each of the claw poles. The plurality of magnets are arranged between the pair of Lundell-type cores, and are magnetized in a direction of reducing flux leakage. The magnet retainer retains each of the magnets, and has side surfaces in the circumferential direction. At least one of the side surfaces is provided with at least one projection for restraining movement of the magnet retainer in an axial direction along a rotary shaft.
