An MRI apparatus equipped with a magnetic shield structure to reduce flux leakage. The MRI apparatus includes: a pair of static magnetic magnets that are disposed on opposite sides of an imaging space; and a pair of gradient coils that are disposed on opposite sides of the imaging space. Each static magnetic magnet has a disk-shaped magnetic material poleand a ring-shaped magnetic material pole. Each gradient coil has a first coilthat applies a magnetic field gradient in a Z axis direction in an imaging region, and a laminatethat shields the disk-shaped magnetic material pole from magnetic flux produced in the first coil. The laminate has a smaller thickness in the Z axis direction on the ring-shaped magnetic material pole side than that in a center portion of the imaging space. A vertical lowest portion of a laminate end portion on the ring-shaped magnetic material pole side of the laminate is in a higher position than a position of a lowest portion of a laminate central portion on the imaging region side of the laminate.

A laser device includes: a plurality of laser diodes that emit laser beams having different wavelengths; a partial reflection mirror that resonates the plurality of laser beams emitted by the plurality of laser diodes; and a wavelength dispersion element that causes the plurality of laser beams incident from the plurality of laser diodes in different orientations of optical axes of the laser beams to travel to the mirror with the optical axes aligned. Each of the plurality of laser diodes is integrally formed with an adjustment component that is rotatable around an emission end of the laser diode.

An open-type MRI apparatus includes a pair of static magnetic field magnets and a pair of gradient magnetic field coils. Each static magnetic field magnet includes a discoid magnetic pole configured to generate a static magnetic field in a Z axis direction in which the pair of static magnetic field magnets are opposed each other, and an annular magnetic pole configured to generate a static magnetic field on an X-Y plane perpendicular to the Z axis direction. A laser device includes a plurality of laser diodes that generate laser light beams having different wavelengths from each other, a partial reflective mirror constituting a resonator along with the laser diodes, a wavelength dispersive element set in the resonator, which combines parts of the laser light beams outputted by the laser diodes to each other, emits the combined parts of the laser light beams as a first laser light beam toward the partial reflective mirror, and emits other parts of the laser light beams as second laser light beams in directions different from the direction toward the partial reflective mirror, and an output detecting unit detecting intensities of the second laser light beams.

To avoid the complication of an MRI apparatus and avoid the overestimation of a calculated value of SAR without extending a processing time and to perform accurate SAR management. To this end, the MRI apparatus is equipped with a high frequency antenna which has a plurality of channels and resonates at a predetermined frequency, and a measuring instrument which measures the amplitudes of a forward traveling and reflected waves of each high frequency signal supplied to the high frequency antenna. In the MRI apparatus, a reflection matrix S is determined based on the measured amplitudes. Diagonal terms of the determined reflection matrix S are used to calculate Q values for each of the channels. Each non-diagonal term of the reflection matrix S is used to correct the calculated Q value. The corrected Q value is used to calculate irradiation power consumed in a subject among irradiation power from the high frequency signals supplied to the high frequency antenna when imaging to thereby manage a specific absorption rate.

In an MRI apparatus, an imaging that produces almost no sound is implemented without extending an imaging time, not only for three-dimensional imaging, but also for two-dimensional imaging. A gradient pulse in a pulse sequence provided in the MRI apparatus is adjusted by using a basic waveform having a distribution of frequencies where strength dwindles substantially as the frequency increases from zero, and the waveform is convex upward or downward varying smoothly. An application time and strength are adjusted so that almost no sound is produced. Any imaging executable by a conventional pulse sequence can be implemented without producing almost any sound, using the conventional pulse sequence with little change.

When imaging is performed by executing a pulse sequence on an MRI apparatus, silencing is realized with securing sufficient application amount of crusher without extending the application time thereof. In the pulse sequence carried by the MRI apparatus, at least one gradient magnetic field pulse included in the pulse sequence has a waveform synthesized from two or more base waves shifting along the time axis direction (synthesized waveform), and the base waves have a smoothly changing waveform convex upward. The pulse of the synthesized waveform is generated from one or more trapezoidal or triangular base pulses by a waveform conversion part of a computer of the MRI apparatus or an external computer.

The detecting unitincludes a function of detecting at least one of presence of the object, distance to the object, and moving speed of the object, based on correlation between the receiving signal and the transmitting signal.

Bdistributions are measured for only several sections of one predetermined direction, and a radio frequency magnetic field condition that maximizes the Bnon-uniformity reducing effect for an imaging section of an arbitrary direction and an arbitrary position is calculated from the Bdistribution data.

In order to provide a technique which can suppress coupling to homogenize the spatial distribution of an RF magnetic field and can improve penetration of the RF magnetic field into the subject, pad-like electric field conductors having a predetermined area are provided outside both ends of a rung conductor as a part of a configuration which forms a loop-like circuit and is driven as an antenna. An antenna device includes a sheet-like conductor, a rung conductor which is arranged at a predetermined distance from the sheet-like conductor, two electric field conductors which are arranged in both end portions of the rung conductor at a predetermined distance from the sheet-like conductor, and connection terminals which are transmission and reception terminals provided in the rung conductor and the sheet-like conductor. The rung conductor and the sheet-like conductor configure a loop circuit which resonates at a preset frequency.

A technique is provided to reserve large examination space in the tunnel type MRI apparatus, without increasing production cost nor reducing significantly irradiation efficiency and homogeneity in an irradiation distribution within an imaging region. A device includes: a static magnetic field generating device including static magnetic field generating sources generating a homogeneous magnetic field in a space; gradient magnetic field generating sources superimposing a gradient magnetic field on the homogeneous magnetic field, and conductor rings arranged between the static magnetic field generating sources and the gradient magnetic field generating sources in a pair of arranging regions on both sides in a direction of the homogeneous magnetic field in a region where the homogeneous magnetic field is generated (imaging region), respectively, the conductor rings being separated from each other and making a pair. This provides an MRI device 1 capable of reduction in vibration with suppression of the image quality deterioration of the tomographic images.

There is provided a technique for suppressing increase of SAR without sacrificing sensitivity in RF coils used in MRI apparatuses. The present invention provides an antenna device comprising a sheet-shaped conductor and a ribbon-shaped conductor disposed on the subject side with respect to the sheet-shaped conductor with a predetermined distance from the sheet-shaped conductor. The ribbon-shaped conductor has a meandering shape, and is adjusted so as to resonate at transmission and reception frequencies, and it is constituted so that distance to the sheet-shaped conductor becomes smaller at both end part thereof along the static magnetic field direction compared with the distance to the sheet-shaped conductor at the center thereof. Moreover, the ribbon-shaped conductor is constituted so as to have a smaller width, as the distance to the sheet-shaped conductor becomes smaller.
