A method and computer for assessing whether a password can be generated by using characteristics of a physical arrangement of keys of an input device. A received password includes characters corresponding to respective select keys in a sequence of select keys of the input device. For each select key, a final detection frequency is calculated as a sum of an initial detection frequency and an additive correction. A password determination value is calculated as a ratio of a total number of select keys having a final detection frequency equal to a minimum detection frequency and the total number of select keys in the sequence of select keys. A determination of whether the calculated password determination value is, or is not, less than a predetermined threshold value indicates that the password cannot, or can, respectively, be generated by using the characteristics of the physical arrangement of keys of the input device.

Evaluation of a password

The present invention provides a method and system for assessing a password based on characteristics of a physical arrangement of keys of a keyboard. A password including unique characters is stored. For each unique character of the password, a character key of the keyboard which denotes the unique character of the password is determined. A positive flag is assigned to each determined character key of the keyboard. A null flag is assigned to each key of the keyboard that is not one of the determined character keys. A key detection frequency is computed for each key vector of the keyboard. A maximum key detection frequency is determined from among the computed key detection frequencies of the key vectors. The maximum key detection frequency is compared with a threshold key detection frequency, from which it is ascertained whether the maximum key detection frequency is at least the threshold key detection frequency.

Assessment of a password based on characteristics of a physical arrangement of keys of a keyboard

An electronic system includes an electronic system cabinet housing at least one electronic system component and a power generation system. The power generation system includes a cooling system having a cooling medium that generates a cooling energy. The power generation system further includes a thermoelectric conversion element having a first side and a second side. The first side is in a heat exchange relationship with the at least one electronic system component and the second side is in a heat exchange relationship with the cooling medium. Heat energy generated by the at least one electronic system component raises a temperature of the first side and the cooling energy generated by the cooling medium lowers a temperature of the second side to establish a temperature difference. The thermoelectric conversion element produces an electro-motive force based on the temperature difference.

Generating power from heat produced by an electronic system

A cooling system that promotes cooling of a device including a heat source therein is provided, the cooling system includes: a cooling unit that absorbs, upstream from the heat source, heat from intake air that the device takes in from an outside to cool the heat source and dissipates the heat to an outside of a flow path of the intake air; and a fluid control unit that lets fluid flow toward the cooling unit so as to discharge the heat absorbed by the cooling unit from the intake air to an outside of the cooling unit.

Technique for cooling a device

An electronic equipment of the present invention includes housings and, a substrate, electronic components mounted on the substrate, a heatsink which is connected to the electronic component, connection means for connecting the heatsink to the housing depending on a temperature in the housing and for forming a heat conduction path from the electronic component to the housing, and a fan for flowing cooling air into the housing. The substrate, the electronic component, the heatsink, the connection means, and the fan are arranged in the housing. Depending on the temperature, the connection means promotes heat transfer from the heatsink to the housing, which has a large radiation area, in addition to a cooling (radiation) operation using the fan. As a result, the cooling of the electronic component inside the housing is promoted during operation. By this cooling effect, the present invention improves reliability and safety against heat generation of the electronic component (in particular, a central processing unit).

Electronic device for cooling interior of housing

A system for cooling interior and external housing surfaces of an electronic apparatus. The apparatus includes at least one electronic component, a heat transfer mechanism for transferring to an external surface of the apparatus heat generated by the electronic component, and a cooling mechanism for cooling the external surface of the apparatus. The cooling mechanism also includes an airflow generation device and an opening that enables airflow to simultaneously flow over at least one electronic component within the apparatus and over the external surface to dissipate the heat generated by the at least one electronic component.

Electronic equipment including an apparatus for cooling interior of housing

A printer including a printing head for performing printing while moving over a printing medium, a gap roller capable of rolling along a direction of moving of the printing head, and a platen bar placed so as to face the printing head and the gap roller. The printer further includes a controller for controlling a pressing force of the platen bar applied to the gap roller according to a printing end position of the printing head on the printing medium.

Printer and method of controlling the same

The present invention provides a printer system responsive to the request of an operator for performing specified control on a specified portion of a medium during a print operation. Such control minimizes the labor required by an operator to change the set-up condition of the printer when different print media is used. Print operations having modified print attributes for specified areas are set-up for each type of media in advance and stored in a storage device of a printer or a host processor for controlling the printer, such as a personal computer or a server. When a medium is inserted into the printer, medium identifying information, such as a bar coded form number or the size of the medium is used to determine which record stored in the storage device corresponds to the selected medium. The controlled print operation, such as a high print pressure printing, a high quality printing, a change or modification of line/column space, or a modification of font, is made in the area specified by the position data.

Method, apparatus, and program for printing using modified print attributes

In the present invention, the platen bar is compositely formed of three materials. For a sole layer, a material is used which has high hardness and strength, and has a property that the repulsion against the impact of the print wires is large. For an elastic layer, a material is used which transmits less vibration to the platen base in the print operation and absorbs the impact when the wires of a printhead strike the sole layer. For platen bases, a material is used which has a very high hardness, a high molding precision, and less dimensional change due to temperature change or change with time. The elastic layer is exposed on the surface and a gap roller is positioned at the exposure location. With this, the occurrence of the dent by the gap roller can be prevented when the printing on a copy form is performed.

Platen and printer

There is provided a paper feed roller capable of being used for delivering and feeding paper, which is high in coefficient of friction, has sufficient hardwearing properties with the coefficient of friction not affected by the change in environment of temperature and humidity, is low in ink transferability and is small in change in passage of year of the coefficient of friction of the surface. A coating layer 5 formed of an elastic material such as rubber is formed on an surface of a core material 4 molded of a foamed material such as sponge, and a bonding agent 6 having an elasticity such as denatured silicon is coated on the surface of the coating layer 5 so that ceramic particles 7 are fixed without clearance to provide a paper feed roller 1. Alternatively, the bonding agent 6 is directly coated on the surface of the core material 4 molded of a pliable material such as soft rubber and sponge so that the ceramic particles 7 are fixed without clearance to provide the paper feed roller 9.

Paper feed roller

A paper feed roller for delivering and feeding paper, which has a high coefficient of friction that is not affected by changes in temperature or humidity, good hardwearing properties, and is low in ink transferability. The paper feed roller includes a coating layer formed of an elastic material such as rubber which is formed on a surface of a core material molded of a foamed material such as sponge. A bonding agent having an elasticity such as denatured silicon is coated on the surface of the coating layer. Ceramic particles are embedded and fixed in the bonding agent In an alternative embodiment the bonding agent is directly coated on the surface of core material which is molded from a pliable material such as soft rubber and sponge.

A head wire for use in a high-speed impact dot matrix printer head, having an elongated body, made of a high speed steel wire material or titanium alloy wire material. One end of the body is connectable to an armature of the printed head and a second end on an ink ribbon for printing characters on a paper material. The second end has a coating formed around its periphery and consists of a ceramic hard titanium compound or an aluminum oxide.
