Provided is a control device for an engine which is capable of purifying NOx with high efficiency at a restart after an idle stop without deteriorating purification efficiency of HC and CO. At the restart after the idle stop, an air-fuel ratio is controlled to be rich, and an atmosphere inside of a catalyst is estimated on the basis of a required time &#x394;T from a time point at which an output value (VO) of first oxygen concentration detection means upstream of the catalyst exceeds a predetermined value Ato a time point at which an output value (VO) of second oxygen concentration detection means downstream of the catalyst exceeds a predetermined value A, whereby an air-fuel ratio at next and subsequent restarts is corrected so that the atmosphere inside of the catalyst is optimized at the next and subsequent restarts.

Control device for engine

Provided is a control apparatus for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine equipped with fuel injection valves provided respectively for the cylinders including: a revolution measuring means for measuring a revolution speed for a predetermined angle for each cylinder; an inter-cylinder revolution-difference calculating means for calculating, from the measured revolution speed, a difference in revolution speed between a cylinder of current explosion and a cylinder of the previous explosion; an injection amount correcting means for adjusting the average amount of injection of the fuel injection valves of all the cylinders in accordance with the inter-cylinder differences in revolution speed after the cold start of the engine calculated by the inter-cylinder revolution-difference calculating means; an inter-cylinder revolution-difference averaging means for averaging the differences in revolution speed, calculated by the inter-cylinder revolution-difference calculating means, each between the cylinder of current explosion and the cylinder of the previous explosion; and a torque adjusting means for adjusting the torque of each cylinder so that the average value of the inter-cylinder revolution differences calculated by the inter-cylinder revolution-difference averaging means can be reduced close to zero.

Control apparatus for multi-cylinder internal combustion engine

In order to improve the decrease of the catalytic action and the deterioration of the exhaust purification performance, a catalyst installed in the exhaust pipe of an engine and a secondary air pump for supplying secondary air into the exhaust pipe are provided, and the secondary air pump is operated even after the engine has stopped.

Exhaust gas purifier

A hybrid vehicle control apparatus which is capable of improving the deterioration of the emission performance unique to the hybrid vehicle during idle stop by purifying the exhaust gas remaining in the engine intake pipe, the cylinders, the exhaust pipe and the catalyst. The apparatus comprises two drive sources including an engine operated by fuel combustion and an electric motor/generator operated by electric energy. A residual exhaust gas purifier purifies the gas remaining in the intake pipe, the cylinders, the exhaust pipe and the catalyst of the engine.

Hybrid vehicle control apparatus

If the output of an O,sensor located downstream of a catalyst deviates from a predetermined range, the air-to-fuel ratio upstream of the catalyst is over-corrected to be a leaner value or a richer value beyond the predetermined purification-efficiency range when the output of the O,sensor downstream of the catalyst indicates rich or lean, respectively, so that the output of the O sensor downstream of the catalyst returns within a predetermined range as soon as possible.
